Sorry for the more than likely, stupid question, but what exactly does the Extended ROM do? Am I right in thinking its just the additional settings that the providor wants to add, customise... etc...
The reason I ask is I have a T-Mobile MDA Pro, which I've upgraded the Radio from 1.06.00 to 1.11.00, and noticed great differences.
I've upgraded the CE Image to 1.30.77 with the lates QTek WWE Rom, again, it's solved problems...
But should I upgrade the Extended ROM to 1.30.230? Or stick with T-Mobile's 1.20.120? Will I notice any benefits, or will I just lose T-Mobile's customisations, gain some which are of no benefit, and muck up me phone???

There's two official T-Mobile ROMs for the MDA Pro, the latest being available on the T-Mobile site, and also on this FTP

I uploaded the latest T-Mobile extended rom to FTP a while ago. I have installed the QTEK ext rom (well, most of it), and then I run the T-Mobile cabs to add accounts for MMS etc etc.
Just hard reset the device and then do a soft reset before the extended rom installs, then cherry-pick the bits of the ext rom that you wish to install.

I am having a hard time telling which ROM is the the actual official ATT / Cingular 8525 Rom for Mobile 6?
I still cannot find any trace of it on the AT&T or HTC America Websites.
I also do not really know which ROM I can run properly on the Cingular network without running into configuration and proxy issues?

Yea... I loaded that moths ago. It's the Mobile 5 upgrade, not Mobile 6. They added a few PTT features and re-logo'd from Cingular to AT&T.

You can't find it on AT&T's or HTC's sites because they haven't "officially" released the WM6 ROM for the 8525yet. It's supposed to be coming soon.
I've been using one of the "unofficially leaked" WM6 ROMs and it works fine on my 8525.

you will not run into these issues you speak of on any WM6 rom since they settings can be entered manuly or there are cingular cabs floating around that load them for you its very simple try google search for cingular MMS settings and see what you find. then look for cingular ISP settings its very simple given the info on this website.
Also unfortunately, HTC doesn't allow us USA customers to register our devices for their e-club so the AT&T WM6 upgrade will only be out when AT&T says it's ready. Until then I suggest using leaked official rom found here in the forums or vp3G's custom at&t rom. Both will set your device up for use automatically.
So which one should I choose? I really don't know which one will work? Can I use a standard one? Is there any special proxy settings that need to be entered?

Your question contains the answer. The wing and the 8525 are different phones with different hardware. Yes you can load the wing rom on 8525 but don't blame anyone if you brick your phone.
You can have all of tmobiles setting on the 8525 without loading the wing ROM.

Search this forum for cabs. There are CAB files for MMS, SMS, PROXY, DATA etc for tmobile.

My question is that the program doesnt work anymore.I get a [2001] error.Can someone please help?Do I have to re-install the OEM ROM or theres something to do?

where did u find this cab for TELUS Navigator? can you send me this one?
I Think the Telus Navi work only with Telus dataconnection!! if you dont have that the software will not work right. I once tested the navigator from 1.97 Vodafone rom and it didnt work in my own cookt rom
and i guest that its was because it was made for Vodafone users with Vodafone dataconnections
You are better off installing tom tom or one of the other gps apps. much better than telus navigator, and wont use data!
I have a S21HT, Japanese carrier- Emobile.
I am trying to see if my Softbank also Japan - carrier works,
but it doesn't, even after unlocking the sim.
Is there a radio that will allow it to work?
or is there some Japanese official Roms that I can try...
