hi everyone i am huge fan of the xda series curently i am using pda2k
and planning to shift to xda exec . But i was surprised when i got
an email from my friend rgd this device .
It looks like prototype named as MAGIC [has DUAL screen]
its a very sexyyyy.... device
just check this site .
http://www.advancetc.com/
enjoy
No, it's not Exec2. HTC (HTC = High Tech Computer) is too full of itself to launch such a product, with such stellar specs. This is manufactured by ATC (Advance TC/ Advance Tech Communications). There have been many threads on the MAGIC before. Please use the search function.
hey u have done the same posting in "general", "BA", "universal" !!
The reason why i did so many posting is cause i wanted to have
as many views as possible from diff device users .
like blue angel users have liked the designs and specs but some
exec users didnt liked the looks cause it looks like a brick but loved the specs.
After seeing this device HTC will at least have the hint, that in future
when they are plannin to launch xda exec 2 it should at least have
"DUAL SCREEN"
anyways heres " Another BRICK in the wall "

Now that o2 are producing lots of new non-htc XDA phones, are you going to open up new forum areas to talk about these phones, or is this going to remain an htc only site?
The reason I ask is that a lot of info applies whatever the device manufacturer and the more devices the site coversthe more people that will contribute.
Great point. I support this fully
The XDA stealth is certainly an XDA, yet it is not on XDA developers... Also there has not been much contribution to the atom probably because it was made by quanta
Guys the way I see it this is a HTC forum, there are a lot of phones around but if we stay on one brand then we can provide top info, tools for that brand. You Might allready have seen that there are a few things that cross devices (The BA's country code flashhing error can be over ridden by the Magicans flashing tool)
If we cover all phones then we water down our strong points.
As for the atom, it was a mistake and by the time it was noticed we allready had threads going on.
(Needless to say it might change in the future)
Hi
I have a Imate JasJar and Imate PocketPC. This is a excellect site for information on HTC phones, what is the possibility of extending this site with other phones like the ETen, O2 Flame etc...
It will be very useful to compare features etc... also can be used to lobby for improved features on HTC phones.
Any view on this out there?
Thanks
Norman
I think we've discussed this before, and frankly can't remember what the answer is. We seem to be slipping a few non HTCs in here and there, but although much of what we do is generic to the Windows Mobile Platform, a lot of it is specific to HTC devices, eg rom structure, hardware hacking etc.
I think that there are other great sites out there for those devices, so the only reason to open up xda devs would be if what we do here is of such a benefit to the wider community that it outweighs stepping on those guys' toes. (Eg there are great Mio websites that a number of us frequent in addition to here)
I don't mind either way, but know that my experience is mainly HTC/Windows Mobile.
V
thanks V, any chance of listing some of these sites, I would be intrested have a look at them. Many thanks.

The JasJar - by I-Mate - actually is an HTC phone. When buying from HTC it is called the 3G UMTS. To check this out, go to http://www.htc.com/product/03-products-11.htm#1 and see your phone in all its glory, by another name. And as our old buddy "Billy Shakes" used to say, "A rose by any other name . . . "
:-D

couldnt have sed it better myself
and i appreciate the fact the site is looked at all
thanks for the clarfication and input guys
added new hp ipaq 6xx and 6xx c phone forums
what about general brand forums? like
hp
- xxx
- xxxc
asus
- P735
- P750
- M530
and so on? for each point another subforum with general, roms/upgrading, accessories.
i'm intrested because i'm looking for a good asus p750 forum but all i found was a non vistited, poorly informed clone of an russian board where no word english is spoken
maybe if you can get some good developers over to your board non-htc device will become more customized with roms etc.
there are a few reasons for the brand specific forums
firstly the IPB forum software used will not allow a category within category then forum setup
so i cant have
HP IPAQ
> Ipaq 600
>ipaq 600 general
ipaq accessories
secondly as this forum is to cater non htc devices but in the same manner and xda the boards are to be kept as close as possible, ALTHOUGH there is no endorsment or sponsorship involved this site is independant
the asus devices mention will be considered if they arent made by htc as this swerves away from creating friction with xda
Thanks mike!
So sorry for my other words i dont mind to make a partnership, just i think it once,
XDA-Developers is the best forum and site I have ever used. I love all you guys and how everyone is so helpful and if the posts are sensible no one flames!! As soon as I make some money I will be donating...?(bet you have heard that before.... lol)
I know how much effort it must take to maintain a site of this magnitude, Admin needs praise for all their hard work but most of all the Developers and cooks that give my phone a new lease of life every few weeks ;-)
Lets not forget the users who, lets face it go out of their way to help!
So once again
BIG BIG THANK YOU EVERYONE AND XDA-DEVELOPERS!!!
Glad to be part a of the community since 2nd January 2006

no biggie but my educated guess would be that Xda is a magnitude of o2 branded WM devices, that are produced by multiple manufacturers, most likely HTC was the initial main inspiration for this forum, considering it is only HTC manufactured devices.
HiJACKED!!
Thank u Very Much! to both my doubt was cleared up
The O2 Xda brand is a range of O2-branded Windows Mobile PDA phones, produced by multiple manufacturers (mainly HTC, Quanta and Erima). The first model was released in June 2002. The "X" represents convergence of voice and information/data within one product; the "da" stands for "digital assistant", as in PDA.

Why??? Those great hp iPAQ devices are manufactured by HTC too but why i didn't see it in this great site too? Why? I guess there's are still more HTC devices too but we can't find it in here, as I know total 421 devices manufactured by HTC. This is the great WM site & I hope all of devices manufactured by HTC we can found it in here to discuss, in this forum.
Please reply my post & thanks before!
maybe there is not enough people to support a threat with such device
It is cause they haven't added it that time and I don't believe they'll add it after 5 years. Maybe it was just a mistake 5 years ago that it isn't there.
The device on XDA devs that isn't a HTC device was a mistake, and couldn't be corrected when it was discovered.
For the rest the official statement (as this has been discussed a lot, witness all the "why no (insert device here) forum" threads):
XDA-developers is an HTC only board, there will be no other devices added.
Regards,
EqX
But what he wanted to tell us is that the h6365 has a HTC Codename. That means it is disigned and assembled by HTC. That means it should have had a forum.
But I'm not sure that the infos are right cause the ROMs doesn't look like HTC ROMs in any way.
This all abandon discontinue devices has been forgotten by the makers or the users! What a shame that XDA-Dev not admitted all this devices as manufactured by HTC including mine, hp iPAQ h6365!!! Then where's i must discuss this such thing devices? My hope are only in this great forum!

Would be weird if the ROM was totaly different.
Till now all HTC ROMs have the same footprint.
I doubt if these devices where designed by HTC, maybe someone has another source to verify whether these devices where actually by HTC?
Or where they only assembled by HTC (could explain the difference in ROM layout)?

Bro, all of this devices are manufactured and hardware designed by HTC, including mine hp iPAQ h6365. Please check it in HERE for more details!!!
Now what will you say? Not just talk, can you prove it if this device are not manufactured & hardware designed by HTC? You will doubt it cause you're not having one of those devices as I mention before!
There is support for the 6365 in the Sable forum. See this thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=497826
It is up to the site admins to decide which devices have forums and which do not. Usually, it's only devices which generate enough interest are given a forum. If all these devices had forums, would there be any posts?
This site is not a HTC device support centre, there is no obligation to give forums to all these devices.
The 6365 is a smartphone, so discussion would normally be in Smartphone
general, or Unlocking and Modifying. If interest was high enough that 6365 threads were cluttering the forum, then (IMHO) it would warrant a new forum.
Thanks
Dave

Well. I don't know what is up. I checked the ROMs to port Wm2003SE to the 6365 and found out that they aren't like normal HTC ROMs.
The 6365 uses NBF as ROM format but it has an extra NBF for XIP, Radio and so on. That isn't normal for HTC ROMs. And the ROMs seem to be differnt. I can't get them running in an emulator and I can't extract them. The XIP is looking different too. The OEMXIPKernel has only 2 files. All other files aren't in other XIP parts too. So it seems like the ROMs aren't HTC ROMs.
But the hardware seems to be HTC cause I've seen a picture somewhere with the mainboard on it. On the mainboard was written Assembled by HTC in Taiwan.
So I think also if the devices would have had enought threads they would not have got any forum cause the ROMs don't seem to be made by HTC.
Besides, those devices are too old and too many. Very few use them anymore.
I'm sure there's still a lots oldiest HTC devices that still doesn't have their own section to share with a same users ...
