It uses the Mini usb cable so the V3 Cable should have worked. Do you have the most recent version of Active Sync on your computer?
for normal charging and syncing, it uses the normal miniusb
for audio, it uses the 11pin miniusb

Nokia charger to mini usb

Hi,
My charger from HTC Tattoo broke. Then I thought of turning one of my old nokia chargers int a mini usb charger.
My Original power supply:
-Output: 5V --- 1A
My nokia charger:
-Output: 5V --- 880mA
I cut the cable from nokia charger and also cut the mini usb cable, then I connected the 5v wire from nokia to the red wire from miniUsb and GND from nokia to black wire from miniUsb.
When I plug the mobile phone nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

A Cable to Charge Other Phones Using My Phone?

I've seen that Huawei Ascend Mate 2 can charge other phones thorugh a compatible cable. Can I find such a cable for my Samsung smartphone?
Thanks.

You should be able to use any USB cable that has micro USB tips on both ends. Look for a male-to-male micro USB cable.
Not any cable, you need to get USB OTG cable, cost a few dollars on ebay or Amazon. It has micro-usb connector on one side (which goes to your phone) and full size female usb connector on the other side to connect any device (usb stick, mouse, keyboard, ext hard drive). Just make sure your phone supports USB OTG. Typically all the latest Galaxy phones should. That cable, usb on-the-go (OTG) has two pins shorted inside and turns your phone into a host so you can connect other peripheral devices, such as the one I listed above. And while it does that, it provides 5V power through USB bus like any usb host (your laptop or PC). As a result, you can charge other phones or devices from your smartphone. Just keep in mind, it will drain your battery
This is very useful, for example, if you have Note 2 with 9600 mAh Zerolemon extended battery (in my case), and use your phone to charge other devices with extra juice

OTG and power negotiation for peripherals.

Nexus 5x 7.1.1 rooted.
OTG works when mounting a flash drive, using a USB-C -> female USB A adapter.
If I plug in a USB LTE dongle, it doesn't power on. I've tried the above adapter, and a standard micro-USB OTG cable connected to a micro-USB -> USB-C adapter, without success. The dongle works with an OTG cable on a Galaxy S4, and on computers.
USB-C can manage OTG via negotiation between the phone and peripheral; it doesn't rely on the ID pin to be shorted. I'm guessing the dongle doesn't have the software to talk to USB-C devices.
Has anyone else had issues with peripherals (not flash cards) connecting via OTG?
For reference, the dongle is a Huawei 397u-53 4G LTE adapter.

Can't connect Pixel XL to 15" Macbook Pro 2018 via USB-C to USB-C cable

Hi,
I am trying to connect my Pixel XL to a Macbook Pro 2018 15".
I managed to connect the same phone to a 2017 iMac 27" using the same cable (the one that came with the phone), but when trying to connect the phone to the MBP it doesn't even charge.
I tried turning on and off the USB debugging, tried all types of connections (File transfer, MIDI, PTP, No data transfer). It doesn't even charge. Which is weird, cause it charges with the same cable when connecting it to the iMac.
Both iMac and MBP have MacOS Mojave.
I tried rebooting the MBP, clean install of the Android File Transfer.
I tried using the usb-c usb-c cable that came with the MBP, and still nothing.
What's also a bit weird is that I can't even charge the phone if I connect it with a usb-c to usb-c cable to the MBP's power adapter. However, if I connect it to a regular power adapter with a usb-a to usb-c cable, it charges without any issue.
I am running out of ideas.
Can someone help ?
Thanks.
