Hi,
Im in search of a case which covers the outside of the exec and the inside. I want to protect the plastic around the screen from getting little dot marks when it scrapes of the keyboard. This is because the two rubbers arent exactly high enough to raise the screen so that it doesnt scrape.

Use krusell Extra long - horizantal, U will never repent after buying it. Cheers
Case
I am still waiting for my exec (monday should have it  )
I am considering this case from proporta - will cost me £25.89 incl p&p
http://www.proporta.com/F02/PPF02P05.php?t_id=1353&t_mode=des
I carry naked and also notice that the buttons scrape the casing which is awful. Therefore I buy a pair of stick on sponge (removable) to heighten at the strategic locations inside and outside and am pleased with the results. After mths of usage, I am happy to say that it still looks brand new no matter what angle of view I view my set. Well put in special pouch with smooth cushion(very soft that cannot scratch the surfaces) is also an essential element for my case. Well if u prefer another option. Try silicon case which should works well else try krusell leather for protection if u dun prefer my way.
try this, i have ordered one. it seems really good for overall jasjar protection

The Krussel I mention in that thread:

fits pretty much exactly your bill... And is pretty cheap for its overall value imho.

I used to be envoled with a firm that used (and still use) this stuff as a stone chip protecion for cars and bikes. The market for it is hugh. I'd be interested to know how you stick it to the jasjar as the stuff we used was applied using a solution of water and shampoo (believe it or not) and you had to use plenty of it (soaking).
Let us know would ya?
Thanks

Hi Ash
Got an Exec, a wee bit cheaper than jasjar.
Hi Gavin...let us know what cases and other bits Proporta have coming.
cheers
I had an aluminium case for an XDA2, and it reduced the signal strength by about half.
Is the same true for these new cases?

Aluminium case
Hello gents,
This is my first post in this forum, I hope we can help each other. (I am hopefully waiting for the SIM unlocker for MDA PRO).
I also had an aluminium case for my MDAII, the signal strength went wo far down, I had to cut off the corner of the case covering the internal antenna. That helped with the signal, but there was no protection against mechanical damages anymore on that corner. Therefore be careful with Aluminium cases.

My experience with Al casing is that - DO NOT BUY!!!
Reasons :-
1) The screw behind will unscrewed easily as time goes by
2) If drop on a hard floor the metal catch will spring open and cause your PPC (if unlucky) to face with the screen downwards
Leather pouch is still a better choice. If your PPC drops on a hard floor it'll just roll and the button will keep the pouch from opening and hence protects the screen surface.

one more reason, is heavy.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. WTF is that?!?!
Bulky aluminium case for a bulky 'phone'? You must be joking. It makes it look like Robocop!
Sorry, don;t mean to be mean, but I can imagine opening that thing up and thinking "OMG, what a waste of money"!
F.
i must say i agree with what you said. Robocop. that's a nice word. I bought one indeed, that's my second JJ case after the original one.
It makes the sweet JJ into something really really big. The case indeed is very good, it has the transparant plastic for viewing the PDA screen without opening it, something i always wanted for my old XDA metal case for so long. But unfortunately, JJ when placed in PDA mode, it has to be used along with the stylus. JJ does not have two hardware button to accomodate the WM5 design for the 2 softkey in the bottom part. So, its not a good way to go to use the JJ inside the metal case. You can view something, but you have to open it anyway in order to tap something.
And one more thing, that is really true. If you drop it, the case will be opened first and since the JJ is in PDA mode, then the nice screen most likely will hit the floor.
I do not have any degradation of the cell phone signal however.
The Robocop term is really funny. I feel a bit when I compared JJ inside this metal case with a little tiny Magician. Goliath vs David.
Has anyone tried the aluminium case for universal? Will appreciate user opinion as I intend to go for one.

I have an aluminum case for my vodafone v1640, I find that its ok although a bit of a pain when you're using the phone. Also you can't open it flat when you are charging it. But I can put up with that as I like the protection it gives what is an expensive bit of kit.

Thanks. That counts it out for me.
I got a new aluminium case of flea bay for 99p + p&p of course.
I got it to protect my MDA Pro as I carry it in a work bag, its versatile as it opens flat (unless you have ear phones or usb plugged in), the case grips the keyboard part of the PPC but not the screen so you can twist the screen either way without hassle and. All the buttons round the edge of the ppc are accessable even when the case is closed, there are holes cut out for the camera & flash, but you can not see the whole of the display with the screen flipped and the lid of the case closed.
Aluminium case too heavy for the belt clip
I have used an aluminium case for a while because it seemed very practical, I have worn it with its belt clip. The problem was that the case was too heavy for the plastic belt clip and one day it suddenly broke at the weakest point. There was no mechanical impact, one part of the plastic simply peeled off from the other one and the case felt down.
Thank you all. I have made up my mind. Basically I am looking for protection. I am presently using an unbranded leather case with non removable belt clip. As I keep my exec in the pocket the clip is bit of an inconvenience as the exec can not be kept flat on a surface without removing the case!
I don't know what it's like for you guys around the world, but certainly in UK the accessories are awful, especially the case... couldn't believe after buying such an expensive unit, that's the best they could come up with!

It is the same here and the ads are quite misleading. Very often the material supplied is not what is shown in pictures. Unfortunately, the choice here is also very limited.
I've had my dash now for 6 months and noticing im becoming less and less careful with it. I just saw on Amazon.com there are a few to choose from. I like to keep my phone in my pocket.
Any info or suggestions on what everyone else uses and likes would be greatly appreciated.

There are some links from Pudge and also views on cases i was just about to say that it's not exact subject but there are some ideas.
I use a leather case.
There is a selection on here http://www.wirelessground.com/tdahtcexac.html reason i gave other link is as the Aluminium cases look very sturdy.
Iv been leaning towards the cheaper silicon covers or clear plastic snap on's but I wanted some insight of whether they are worth having or if i should just save my pennies to buy a cool aluminum or leather cover.
I like the idea of having the screen covered though.
Thanks for the info Stylez.

I used to use a silicon case on the MDA Compact but found that crap would get between the silicon and the phone, the leather case does me as i only tend to have the case on when leaving the house but the Aluminium cases do look pucka and bet they would keep the phone in better shape for longer.
I really like the silicon covers... they are not bad in my opinion... you can get them for like less than 5 dollars off ebay...
I have a couple of the plastic covers and they are great. I wish they were rubbery (there are some that are) but the durability is great, they have protected my Dash very well. I only had one silicone cover and my complaint with it was pocket lint.
If you are a pocket person, I think you will like the plastic. If you are not, the silicone is "grippier" and thinner. I cant comment on the metal ones, they always scared me.
Haha metal ones look weird in my opinion. And yes I agree with you on the pocket lint... sometimes that is a pain...
rubberized cover
this is the one I have on mine and I've dropped it a few times and its quite strong against scratches and it cradles it pretty well. The downside is if your phone happens to freeze from overclocking or from doing tweaks, its a pain in the butt to remove for the battery or to change the sd card. To me is so worth it. http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Black-Rubbe...4|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:1|293:1|294:50
this the case i am using , http://www.wirelessground.com/tdaboglsccec.html
i needed a belt clip style to match the custom made setup i have in my vehicle from a previous phone .
holds the phone upright and secure in my field of vision even if i roll over ( yes it is an offroad vehicle ) i will try to get a pic uploaded tonight.
also , it can fit over a 1550 Mah extended battery , if you remove the back cover .
I´m using this and I love it!

Dose covering the top set of buttons impair the use in any way??
I wouldn't mind covering all the buttons if they all worked. Kinda like a keyboard condom.
This case - From Capdase is a super case for x10 offering
-2 in 1 excellent protection: Soft Jacket & metal outter casing
-Protects against drops, shocks, dust, dirt & scratches
-Included screen protector
Please click the pic and enlarge the pic or it will appear blurred or pixelated
I've been using it and here are some pics:
It is excellent case which adds only light weight (any case would)
We can open the usb flap without any difficulty
It covers the volume keys, camera keys and power keys,
the three keys (back, menu, home) are not protected
please post your views
it has a nice color
thx for sharing
Awwww Yeah! Amazing one! I'll buy one like this! Ebay, here I go!
Mine started ripping after about 9 months on the spot where the rubber edges of the case meet the actual case itself (The line that you see going all across, distinguishing between the two types of materials used for the case). All in all it was still a pretty good case, mines been through hell, probably why it ripped.
I just got mine on the mail today. It's black, and it's not cheap.
I decided to get one after reading so many good reviews about it. I haven't opened it yet, so wish me luck.
i love the case..... how may colorsto choose from??? anyone got any good seller from ebay to recommend??? thanks in advance
I do not know that he will not be used for a long sticky ~
But do not know whether there are other colors
That looks nice but it must be hard to pop the USB cover with it...

Hey could you say me what did u do when it ripped off?? Did you stick it?? Because I am afraid as it is slightly ripping off the edges...What case are you using now??
Where can I puchase one of these other than Ebay?
Ha! If you plan on getting one from Ebay, plan on shelling out $20. It's a cool case, but for now, I will stick to my $2 Hard Rubber case.
Too bad nobody's selling this over here... would love to try one.
I have been using the black version of the same case. Available at Croma stores all across India. Cost me around Rs.800 (appx $20). Real good proection, also adds a touch of class.
i have the black one but i,m not happy with that on my phone... make my phone bigger and the case from x10 ii is pretty good on scratches

Has anyone found the cheapest place to buy this case?
Nice case ! Has others colors ?
Just a quick review of one of the better cases that I have come across...for those who dont like TPU and soft cases were the lip around the screen would easily peel back, and dont feel like actual part of the phone...Seems to be the only option was to run with no case, or them clip on cases.
The Momax UltraThin is the best case for myself at the moment, offering all that I am after, a phone that is still slim, protects it from minor scratches...I admit, not much drop protection but then, even thicker cases dont always promise absolute protection.
Anyways, the case is well lipped, accurate and precise, the holes for the buttons are well placed and shaped, overall very easy, as if there was no case on. The camera hole is well flushed to the camera itself.
Most of all this case actually clips on very tight and firm, just the way I like it...there is no give or any gap or loose points like TPU cases or SGP Neos...its just a firm case, that makes you feel like you are holding onto a phone without any added bulk...
Plus, the paint job on it is absolutely stunning...pretty flawless, high quality product...for a fair price...Ill let the photos do the talking...
Cheers.
Nice and simple case. The price seems cool too, thanks for sharing the product, I'll have a look at it!

I got mine on Ebay, shipping took about 1 week to New Zealand which is as slow as things get...
Also, is the material on the inside part of the case metal? I'm afraid it would scratch the plastic on the back of the phone if there's any rubbing.. ?

It is plastic, very smooth so I do not think it would scratch at all unless there is sand or other small hard particles between the case and phone.

There are no mesh that allows small dusts to get between case and phone I suppose? I believe it also comes in transparent as well...
Have the same case - price and quality are perfect. I like that comparing to original phone materials this case feels like good-old soft-touch back panel. Only drawback I can find is that this case can be scratched easily - after a month of carrying my phone mainly in the pocket there appeared lots of small scratches. I bet this is due to the material of the case.
