Hi,
I am new here.
Recently I got O2 XDA Exec.
If any one could please tell me which of the bluetooth headset among Jabra BT800, V3 BTH-8 is best suited for O2 XDA Exec.
Caller Name display is very important for me, If I have to get the caller Name display on one of these headsets, do I have to do any updates to my Modile?
If yes Please let me know which are they.
Thanks in advance

I've just bought a Jabra BT800 bluetooth headset in Singapore. I connect the headset with my O2 XDA Mini, but the Caller ID function doesnt work properly.
Jabra BT800 work well if an incoming call that is not in my contacts. It shows the phone number.
But in case of the incoming call is in my contacts, eg: First name="Home", Number="123456789", I only see some unknow characters, yes, it's funny, it's not English or any language of mankind, I dont know exactly what is it? It's not ASCII text for sure.
If I rename from "Home" to "Home12345", it'll shows some unknow characters and "12345".
It's only number can be displayed properly, yes, number only.
But my Jabra BT800 works very well with the SonyE T610 of my friend and my XDA Mini works very well with his HBH-660.
What the hell are going on?
There is problem with my XDA Mini only or all XDA Mini? or BT800?
Somebody has experience about this problem? Pls help me! Any solution?
Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same problem. You can read my today's new post. The thing is that I was so excited to get the BT800 that I forgot to check full compatibility with the Imate. Actually, I found out when I got it, even before turning it on that 2 main features for which I was getting it will not work: Caller ID and Calls list (redial from BT). The problem is with the phone. You can check on Jabra's site that the 2 devices are compatible, but not fully though. I asked todya if there's and upgrade or application for the phone to make it fully functional. You can follow the replies to my post as well. I'm sad too, I paid 190US$ for it.
Hi,
Newbie, just purchased an XDA2i with an O2 'blue' headset and I need some help in the voice dial area.
Turns out they are not compatible for one click voice dialing. Installed fonix VoiceDial 2.0 off the O2 installation CD but it will not activate from the Blue Headset Call button. In the XDA settings you can assign hardware buttons from the XDAii to start the voice dial feature but not from the headset pickup / make call button.
Any ideas if this can be resolved or if there is another voice dial software that can be activated to make a call by clicking the O2 blue headset? And/or another headset that works so I don't have to keep getting this thing out of my bag to make a call? - Would have thought this would have been a basic requirment of a phone/pda this size?
Cheers,
R
Same problem with Jabra BT250v
I have the same problem with my XDA IIi and Jabra BT250v headset. O2 Customer services are absolutely no help, they say "there is no headset available at the moment that will function properly with xda IIi". O2 Shops say all headsets will work but you need to buy one and then try", what does one believe and go to get help...........?

These PDA's dont support this functions, irrespective of where you buy it from. orange, voda, o2, t-mobile - they just can't do bluetooth voicedial. Naff but true.
Yes, strange but true, it seems the reason is that the xda series are pda's with phone capability, not phone with pda capability so they thought they would leave out that particular feature. Probably something to do with marketing but I cant see the logic of it for the life of me.

I have a O2 mini, and Sony BT Headset. I also have a disability and this 'non-feature' is more than just an 'annoyance' for me.
Calling out I can manage on the pda and the headset turns on automatically - though voice dial would be handy, it's the answering that I have trouble with.
Can you tell me, is the 'bit' that switches a incoming call to a BT headset part of the BT in MSWindows 2003se PPC software or part of the O2 firmware or part of hardware?
What does the answering? Could a utility be written that detects an incoming call and switch answer to a BT headset?

There are two known pocket pc phones that have bluetooth voice dialling; the Motorola MPX and the Eten M500. So its not a limitation of the OS, just short-sightedness of some app developers

I don't like my jasjar
Jasjar and BT800
@ actGsm,
Till now there is no supporting software which can be installed in Jasjar to make it show the caller ID "Name".
This solfware is available in I-mate Jam, but not in Jasjar.
I hope that I-mate can develop such softwaer soon, and I don't think it's difficult since it is already there with I-mate Jam.
Regards,
Khaled, what CID software for the JAM are you talking about? I didn't know that any such thing existed for the JAM?
I have been able to use the 'Name' feature on my SE HBH-662 for well over a year with my Jam, but it only works if the name/number exist as a contact on the SIM.
@ khaledelfeki
thanks for replying
by the way I found a new update for bt800 (00.34) my latest update was (00.32)
I know it have nothing to do with caller ID but may be it will not make my BT lose connection with jasjar
BR.
@ Monakh,
If you use the same SE head set on Jasjar it will not show the name of the caller even if the contacts are stored on the SIM, but as you said according to your experience it does work with the Jam, this is becaue there is a software included in the Jam ROM to enable the name to appear on the head set screen instead of the number only.
By the way, this software is also available with Sony Erricson cell phones.
Regards,
Some guy made a custom ROM before Stereo Bluetooth ROM's were released (Jwrightmcps)
This rom has REMOTE SIM ACCESS.
It is claimed (as I didn't have the time to test it out) to show the name on BT800 IF and i repeat IF the name is stored on the SIM.
So if you add names to SIM and THEY call you, the name will show. Doesn't work on contacts stored on the device.
It's a nice ROM. Try contacting him for a link to the D/L.
THanks Jwright.
@ actGsm,
The latest up-date is BT800_0034_US, after three weeks of trying the new up-date I can tell you that there is no recognizable improvement in the performance of the head set.
I kept the BT800 head set a side for the time being pending developing a new patch from I-mate to allow the name of the caller to appear on the screen.
For the time being I'm using Motorola HS820, It's too much lighter, and reliable... does not lose connection to the Jasjar at all.
If I-mate were kind enough to develop the mentioned software, I will take back my Jabra BT800 from my drawer and re-pair it to my Jasjar.
Regards,
@ Jorgee,
Thank you very much for the information, I already contacted with (Jwrightmcps) and he gave me the link to download the ROM which is still under testing, but unfortunately I could not open the link.
He asked me to keep the download link private untill the testing is over, but I can give you his email if someone is interested to have the link you can send him an email.
His email address is : [email protected]
Regards,
Can anybody help with the usage of A2DP feature of qtec S200?
I have read that it is supported with this phone, but can't hear any mp3 through my bluetooth headset. What must I do? How do I configure it?
thanks
Hi,
I'm new on here and am a novice with my XDA Exec! I'm sure this has been answered before, if so if you could point me in the right direction I would be very grateful!
What I would like to know is this:
I currently use my xda exec with a Jabra BT250v headset for the phone, but I can't get this to work for listening to music, I hear it for a couple of seconds then the voice dial kicks in and it disconnects. I understand that I need A2DP to do this but when I asked O2 I didn't get far!
I want to buy Motorola 820 ? or jabra 620 ? stereo BT headset, but want to know they will work properly first. Incidentally any feedback on which is best would be great.
As I said, I am not very technical so please bear that in mind when answering.
My XDA Exec is running pretty standard O2 set-up, the only software I can remember installing is My Sport Training version 3.97 (not registered)(with My Polar Download Version 1.51 (not registered) polar heartrate stuff and Sprite Backup software version 5.1.0, Build 1447
Current ROM version: 1.13.82 WWE
ROM date: 11/30/05
Radio version 1.04.02
Will this help or not ? "Xda_Exec_Upgrade_v1.30.162" from 02 website
Thanks, Huw
Oh yes, and why is my email address displayed as my user ID and how do I change it ??
Thanks, Huw
Feedback
Hi,
I'm in the same position with the stereo heaphones Moto HT820 as you. Did you get any feedback on how to get these working? i.e. A2DP?
