Hi all, for the last few months I have tried various Universal ROMs and even various WM5 phones including HTC and HP iPAQ, there are some commond issues which I haven't been able to figure out a permanent solution (work arounds are available though not ideal), these are:
- SIP (System Input Panel), if you install any additional SIP like SPB fullscreen keyboard, Monster SIP etc, every time after you soft reset the device, unless you load them up straight away, you will not be able to load them up after a few minutes (don't know exactly how long) until next reset!! This is a great pain, I have found a SIP changer program which automatically load a SIP after soft reset, but I will really love a permanent solution.
- Bluetooth problem with Tomtom 6 (TT6). With lots of AKU versions of WM5 (apart from Helmi AKU 3.3 I tried so far, haven't tried it with Helmi AKU 3.5 though so I can't be sure with that version) every time I start up TT 6 it asks me to enter the passcode to pair my BT GPS receiver again even though I have done it 100 times already!! Again I have seen this issue on other WM5 devices in addition to Universal so I am wondering if any one has a solution.
Thanks!

I've never seen this problem on either my Universal, or my friend's Wizard (which I set up for them).
I don't know if this is the "standard" way, but basically, I pair the GPS device (a BT-77 in our cases), and then setup an outgoing COM port to it, and then simply tell TomTom to attach to that COM port. In fact, I have two BT-77s, one set to COM0 in the car, and a hand-held one on COM4, and I can switch to my heart's content, and have never been asked to re-pair.
Cheers,
Steve.

I know many SIP can not be able load out. Did you solve this? or how to load them with permanent solution?

i've installed a hebrew sip but i dont have a problem loading it anytime i want.
although, sometimes i have a problem composing a new text message. the device gets stuck sometimes if the keyboard it not opened when i click "new".
happends only with helmi's 3.5 and with the hebrew keyboard. doesn't happen with default SIPs.
whats te program you found to load the all the SIPs?
is it "SIPz"? (from the same maker of PQz).
I have the same problem with blue thooth and CoPilot I use. The software is iGo. I tried several roms, but after I switch off the GPS and switch it on, it always wants to pair with Uni again.

Thanks for the suggestion Steve, I have indeed paired the BT GPS receiver, created the outgoing port as COM4 (actually I also tried other available ones) and point TT6 to it. I have been using this BT GPS receiver for over 2 years with various devices including my good old HP iPAQ H4150. This problem didn't happen with my Universal's original Orange SPV M5000 ROM and it doesn't happen with Helmi's AKU 3.3/3.5 ROM either which is the main reason why I am using AKU 3.3 now.
I have this problem on JWright's i-mate AKU 3.2 ROM, my wife's HP iPAQ rw6828 (WM5 AKU 2.3), my friend's T-Mobile MDA Vario II (HTC Hermes, WM5 AKU 2.3).

No good solution and I am wondering if anybody else knows how to solve it. I have tried hacking the registry to make my additional SIP default and I ended up with my universal not being to boot until a hard reset. The work around is this SIPChange attached, basically you set which one you want as default, then every time you soft reset it loads that SIP automatically before it becomes impossible to load it.

I've not had the problem with either of the O2 ROMs, and Ivan's AKU3.5 test ROM - I haven't tried any other ROMs. I unticked the "secure connection" - not sure if that's relevant or not.
I found that only COM0 and COM4 seemed to be available for outgoing ports.
Before you go into TT6 - is the GPS device in the device list, along with the outgoing port set up correctly? Do you switch BlueTooth on and off? I have it on all the time - I'm just trying to think of things that might be different in our configs.
Cheers,
Steve.
I have both TT6 and iGO 2006 on my XDA Exec. The TT6 (and TT5 before that) always worked well with the BT-77 by simply pairing the GPS to the XDA EXEC on a COM port and selecting that COM port in TT6.
With iGO 2006, on the same XDA EXEC, it will ask to pair the BT-77 every time I launch iGO 2006. The only solution I could find was to use Franson's GPSGate to create Virtual COM ports for the BT-77 and to select this virtual COM port in iGO 2006.

Thanks for the advise, I have tried unticking "secure connection" as well and it didn't help.
From what I am gathering in the information supplied it looks to be caused by a combination of the BT GPS receiver, the WM5 and the Sat Nav software.
I can't remember what make and model my BT GPS receiver is because I bought it over 2 years ago and back then I didn't care what model it is. Now that I can't tell it from looking at the outside of this thing.
This is a wierd problem as with different combination of the GPS reciver, WM5 and software it may or may not happen. What I was having that problem using Tomtom 6 I tried the GPSInfo shareware and it didn't ask me to pair every time. Very strange, anyway I am alright now with Helmi's AKU 3.3 using COM5 as the port with my good old BT GPS receiver and TT6.

Thank you so much! it work on my device.
Guys,
I run Tytn with WM5. I have LOTS of freezings. I understand that there is a chance it has to do with the ActiveSync. The problem is that I use it for PushMail and can not use the fake-server fix.
Does WM6 fix this issue?
Thanks to this excellent forum I have managed to improve my Orbit / HTC 3300 and
Upgrade to WM6 (using O2's ROM image)
Enable/Install Dial Up Networking through Bluetooth
What I would like to do now is fully connect to my shiny new TomTom 720. I can get the Handsfree and Wireless data working, but it won't recognise my SMS inbox nor allow me to access the messages.
TomTom has hopeless documentation and M$ aren't much better.
Is it possible?
How can I do it?
I'm sure someone out there can help (and I'd be very grateful!)
Cheers,
Neil
Hello All,
I was wondering how Dash/S620 users running WM6.1 are able to achieve port splitting/sharing so that a single external Bluetooth GPS unit can be used with mulitpl GPS applications simutaneously.
GPSID does seem to be working for me on WM6.1, but it did on the WM6 TMO release. Any work arounds or alternate apps?
Thanks
Anyone have any suggestions?
After upgrading my HTC touch pro 2 to the new relased Windows Mobile 6.5 i have two problems that I don't know how to solve.
1./ I am using Lotus Notes Traveler to synchronise with my mail at work - when changing to WM 6.5 synchronisation is only working when usin WLAN.
3G/GPRS etc does not work - it has something to do with "port 80" etc - can anyone help me out?
2./I had previously WM 6.1 and had installed TomTom 7.
When upgrading to WM 6.5 I only get a message that TomTom doesn't work with this version. Is there any way to "get around" this?
All I can tell you is that I validated Traveler on both the HTC TP2 and the AT&T Tilt 2 running WinMo 6.5 and ran it for a week with no issues.
Are you using a VPN client to connect to your server, or are you running an SSL setup, or a server outside the DMZ?
Maybe this is a port blocking issue from your network.
I am trying to connect via the telephone operators server (3G/GPRS) through to an IP-adress (our company server)
This worked very well when I had installed traveler on WinMo 6.1 but I haven't managed to get it operational when doing the same installation on the WinMo 6.5 platform.
As I mentioned via my home-WLAN it works perfect.
If you are using a url for the server address, try using the ip address instead.
Thank you golfer_boy, for pointing me in the right directio.
I have spent a good portion of the day, thoroughly running through my telephone-provider settings, and found out that there was something strange with some proxy-settings.
Now I have Traveler up and running at full speed.
If you hadn't encouraged me stating that you had been running it, I would probably not have put all that effort into it.
Thank you fo the support and best regards!
Glad I could be of some help.
We started using Traveler about six months ago for our US PDA users and it has proven very reliable for us. I have compared e-mail delivery to the same device running BB Connect and found no difference. The only thing it lacks is a corporate address book lookup but that has not proven a big problem for us.
Hello,
I have the same problem (working with WLAN, but not 3G/GPRS), but it is no difference in using a host or an IP-adress. Any other idea?
(Using Samsung omnia II (winmo6.5) now, worked before with SE Xperia (winmo 6.1))
Soren5939, what was the solution? was it the host/IP?
My admin has told me to disable proxy, but in 6.5 I don't find this option...
Soren5939, I'm having the same problem with a HTC Touch Pro 2 on Winmo 6.5. Exactly what did you change in the proxy settings?
Hi,
is there anybody who can explain how to install the traveler properly on WM6.5?
Want top update my phone to WM6.5 but want to be sure that Traveler will work and I do not know if I can install the current Traveler on WM6.5 at all. And IBM still says that they just support till WM 6.1. There support do not even know if or when they will update Traveler.
Thanks for your help
Just updated to Win Mobile 6.5. Installed the Lotus Notes Traveler for Win Mob 6.1 and everything worked.
Cheers
Unable to install Lotus Traveler 8.5.1 on HTC Windows mobile 6.5
Hi Can you pls help me as I am Unable to install Lotus Traveler 8.5.1 on HTC Windows mobile 6.5
Thank you
I was working with the Traveler for a few month on WM6.5 with no issues but since i switched to WM6.5.x (6.5.3 atm) it only syncs for the first time after being installed. From then on it gets an Error 8.
I tryd this with several roms but with no positive result.
Can anyone confirm this?
btw: Im on a TOuch HD
I too work with Notes Traveler and the latest release of any custom rom i use puts the phone into an unusable state (mostly non-responsive). I have Tried Juicey R8 and Energy Leo.
I'll have to try a stock 6.5 ROM in the future. If not.. it will be back to 6.1.
Update: I removed my SD storage card and soft reset. Phone works fine with Notes Traveler and Energy Leo ROM. I'm in the process of reformatting my SD card to see if that helps.
Update2: My TP2 running Energy Leo works fine as long as my storage card is not in the device. Maybe there's a DLL issue with accessing the storage card when one is present.
Seeing something similar here.
Phone: HTC TP2 on Win Mob 6.5 (Vodafone UK Rom)
I have now spent a few days messing around with this, and this is where Im at.
1) Im pretty sure the Notes traveler install messes with my phones ability to turn off the screens backlight off, but Im sorted that with a Reg Fix
2) Can confirm that Notes traveler doesnt like switching networks (WLAN, 3G)
3) It too installed for me the first time, but as I saw other issues with the phone I had to flash the ROM again.
Same problem here.
Install Traveler and the first sync works fine. After that there is no send/receives. My IT guy has the same phone and ROM so I am not sure WTF is going on.
Any help would be great. Someone had posted that they fixed theirs, but did not include what the hell they fixed.
Any comments???
Problem is solved
the new Version of the Notes Traveler (8.5.1 fixpack2 otherwise called 8.5.1.2) is fully compatible with WM 6.5.x
I installed the new version on our server an flashed a 6.5.x ROM onto my HD2.
Then you´ve to update the client version on your phone
The traveler is know working fine.
Greetz,
Mirco
I can confirm that Traveler 8.5.1.2 works perfectly fine on my TP2 with stock WM6.5 ROM. I tried syncing over 3G and WLAN.
And btw., does anyone know if it's possible to sync only mail, not calendar, using Traveler? I know it's not officially possible, but maybe some registry hack?
Traveler and WinMobile 6.5.3
I've found a problem using 6.5.3 on my X2 when trying to Sync with Traveler.
1st sync is perfect, but everytime efter that the phon keeps sending calendar updates until you tell it to stop. If you try to wait and see how many calendar entries it sends you'll be out of battery before it's done.
It starts with 0 of 9 ( example )
1 of 9
2 of 9
And keeps on and on. And goes beond 9.
After a few hours you'll be looking at 2469 of 9
Any suggestions any one.
Hello dicksoft.
Please, try set Mail and Calendar settings from "Show all" to needed period.
Maybe You syncing too many Calendar events.
In Traveler - Menu/Settings/2.Mail and Calendar
Show past events
Show upcoming events
Example:
Show past events- 1 Month
Show upcoming events- 3 Months
