Im looking for a case for my TP2, I'd like something the griffin if possible, something compact that protects the outside from scratches and the screen ideally, not too bulky.
There only seem to be leather cases at the moment and the best of those seems to be the pielframa
http://www.pielframa.com/cases.asp?id=733&idcalidad=1&idioma=en&color=1
nice case but id rather have something less bulky so that it can still fit in a jean/shirt pocket.
Anyone got any suggestions ?
Alan
alan, take a look here, loads of different cases, one might suit you

Word of mouth seems to point towards Proporta. Check them out.
They offer several different ones, that look decent and aren't too expensive by any means. Just a heads up, for those of you who are looking for a new case. I'm probably going to order the fake leather one and the 'magnet gray' one as well.

I love how you linked the site while OP disguised his link
The leather one look cheap and tacky to me. These cases are nice but they don't seem to cover enough of the phone for me.
They look like the cheap (construction-wise) snap on cases. For $30, just get the Seidio Innocase. It's way better in my opinion.
Seidio Innocase II Surface - Black, Amazon
Black and other colors, Seidio Online
On Amazon I got it a week ago for $20, so maybe check a few times they drop the price every once in a while I think.
i got the same case that incipio made for $10 over at Fry's electronics

I didn't want this to be a comparison thread. I simply wanted to point out there are alternative cases out there on the market.
I'm really glad you pointed these out. I used to have a Barely There case on my old iPhone and these look pretty similar to that (I really liked it). I've been waiting for a case like this! Since Case Mate doesn't make any for the Atrix, I might get one of these. The colors aren't great, but I hate cases that snap together...
Thanks OP. Just ordered the magnet grey one. Will update when it arrives.

I'm ordering the grey one as soon as I get paid friday! I want overnight shipping, I don't care if I have to pay another 10 bucks to receive it, lol.
Yea.... they are quite nice looking. Not sure if i really wanna give up my TPU case though....
When either of you get yours.... mind posting some more pics? Would like to see what the inside of the case looks like, too.

Sure thing. I should have it tomorrow.
Just ordered the grey one, hopefully it arrives on Monday!
So can someone explain what exactly this case feels like? I don't REALLY get what a "rubberized satin finish" means... In the past I've used the case-mate barely there cases, which I like because they're not squishy or really rubbery and such. This pure gear case looks solid, but it says it's rubberized so I dunno.
And while I'm asking, what exactly is a TPU case (like this one: http://www.amazon.com/Amzer-Argyle-High-Gloss-Soft-Gel-Motorola/dp/B004L2L6JM/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1304100403&sr=8-6)
Is it similar to the pure gear material?

Just got mine. First impression is this thing is nice! One of the thinnest cases/shells I've ever seen. Just went into our QA dept to use a caliper and it only measures .86mm or .034" thick. The texture feels almost exactly like my old G1 did. Doesn't feel like it's going to be a lint magnet either. The grey color is a bit lighter than I was expecting too but not too light. It fits OVER the existing battery cover and fits nice and snug. No give in any direction at all. Overall I like it it so far.
I'll post pictures tonight when I get home.

TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) is basically like a mix of a hard shell and a silicon cover. It's quite flexible, although not flimsy like a silicon cover.... and it's durable.... able to withstand quite a bit and still return to it's original shape. Actually recorded a video of me squeezing the crap out of one such TPU case that i got on eBay because of someone in another thread questioning the quality of the eBay cases.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=700ZNRtNEOA
As for "rubberized satin".... i believe it's basically a quite smooth yet soft feel.... not like a silicon, but not quite like a hard rubber case either. Hard to explain, really. If i had to guess, i'd say it might be similar to the Barely There case, but i'm not sure as i've never used either.
Here's some glamor shots of mine.
Hmm.... not too shabby looking. I may just order one.
edit: Just ordered the deep plum colored one. Only did ground shipping, as i didn't really feel like paying the same amount for shipping as i did for the case.... so it may be a little while.
Thanks for all the info guys! I always wondered what all these different types of plastic cases are. Thanks for the pics too, they inspire me to order one! Has anyone gotten the blue? How does it look in real life?

Thanks for providing the link.
While searching ebay, I came across an interesting leather cover for the SGS2. It's a little costly but I like that it's sleek yet protects the phone from scratches. Just can't imagine how the thing stays on!
Folio simple leather case cover
Look good. I think they replace your battery cover, that's the only way they could stay on.
Right, that makes sense! Thanks!
Let us know how it goes. looks gd.
I'm still trying to do some research about which cover to get, and came across the Korean page.
Looks like the folio has some antibacterial properties!
I might "break the bank" *as regards the price for phone covers, and purchase one of these, can anyone give a review assuming someone has already purchased one of these.:
Quite like the look of it and the "idea" of it replacing the battery cover.
Shame I already bought a Zenus cover for mine :/
Let us know if you get it, would be good to know if it works well.
Haven't bought the case yet. I read that it has antibacterial properties, which made me re-think about it.
BTW, I came across another cool Korean leather case:

I'm looking for light-weight leather cases but am not sure which one to get at the moment! Any thoughts about this?
Figured I would toss up a thread about it. I got it from the t-mobile store because I wanted something for it day-1 before I could order something else online. It was overpriced and I though I was going to chuck it but I gotta say I kinda like it. It doesn't add a lot of bulk and it has a NICE textured back that is really slip resistant. I don't have my camera out so no photos right now but I will get some up later.
I agree it's a nice one. I did the same thing. I wanted a case now, and until case-mate releases their pop case with a stand, I got this one as a temp, but it really fits well, and looks good, so I may just leave it on.
Hey guys,
Just had a brief question. Could not find something about this in the general case thread.
I have 2 flipbook cases. The official Htc flipcase and the Kalaideng case.
The HTC case is not very special. I don't like the build quality but I really like the function of the suede inside to wipe away fingerprints. Works perfectly to keep the screen clean! Now the Kalaiding case is really stunning. Feels great, looks great. Only it misses the soft interior of the flip side to clean the screen.
Does anyone know if there is a manufacturer who makes great flip bookcases but with a soft interior for the screen?
If anyone knows, let me know!
Thanks!
Looks like Poetic has that soft "microfiber" lining on their Flipbook case.

Yea, awesome! looks like it. Are there more cases with that feature?
I just got the Poetic one in the mail, and it's pretty damn nice. Very slim, and I like how the white sides of the phone show through the black. I am thinking of poking a hole in the top to see if notification LED will show though it
Has anyone tried that?
I don't personally have this one yet (using the official HTC Flip Case right now), but this one seems nicer and still has the microfiber lining. Might be worth checking out. I plan on ordering one at some point. http://www.mobilefun.com/38450-uunique-leather-folio-and-screen-protector-for-htc-one.htm

The photo on the website look like a quality product, however one reservation is this version doesn't appear to have cutouts on the front where the speakers are located

I find the HTC double flip case to be quite good, but like a lot of people here I'm waiting for the elusive HTC case with the metal stand.
