MDA II with german OS, what should i do?

Hi!
I just ordered a MDA II from Germany, and willing to know more
As my country flag indicates, I'm from Finland, and I think the OS' language is german.
How can I update it to english? Will it work with my service provider? (sonera)
I've never had a one single pda, so I'm a big newbie in these things.
Of course I know about the computers more than an average person , but pda's are a mystery to me.
I tried to search some topics about updating,
and found lots of them, and learned a lot too.
But the topics I found did not consider changing the OS's language,
and that's a crucial thing for me, since I don't understand german at all
I would appreciate any help you can give

The language is changed with the update.
If you install a WWE (World Wide English) update your machine will be english.
You might need to change the header info using Er2003edit to let MDA2 think, that you install a german OS.

Received my unit 2 weeks ago in german as well.
Just installed the T mobile 1.72 Rom WWE without any changes.
It works great and in ENGLISH !!!

Is it possible to change ROM from Dopod Chinese to English?

My father has recently visited Taiwan and picked up a Dopod 900 from a street shop for a pretty cheap price. Now, I'm wondering whether it's possible to change the ROM to *any* English ROM, since I'm not that great at reading Chinese. I'd also prefer not to have a brick after the process.

sorted use the special rom on wiki.xda site follow instructions (specialyy about boot loader ) and viola u will have a lovely o2 dopod

I am a newbie here. Can anyone post the link for Dopod 900 english rom? And if possible please guide me with the upgrade .

Dopod didn't make English ROM , now in here only English ROM can be use was I-mate, go to wiki and get the ROM from there and flush it your Dopod will become Dopod/I-mate , have fun

My Dopod 900 now used I-mate ROM and O2 Exec used Dopod ROM and I change them every two day , to try different thing in both. :lol: :lol: :lol:

After upgrading from Chinese to English, what happens to the mapping of keyboard for symbols etc.. what about the the autoconfig and extended rom ....

mapping of keyboard for symbols almost same just can't use Chinese key

Good to all! We are going to see because mio I believe that he is something complicated to understand xDD. I for but or except a month it buys a mini Xda S by ebay to a person of Germany, everything venia in German and the truth is that pda was quite fast, despues of days toqueteando consegui to understand it and to handle to me to enough good. But I encabezonado, queria to have it in Spanish logicamente, then last night, despues of a pile on attempts in always updating to the Spanish and with the same, who if my version were but new that the one that tried to install, that nbf was but old and it did not leave me... I have to say that when buys venia of the following form:
Version of the ROM: 2.21.4.101 GER
Dates of the ROM: I believe that era of March of 2006
Version of the Radio: 02.19.11
Version of the Protocol: 4.1.13.09
Version of the ExtRom: 2.21.4.104
Then last night with the program awizard and 1.3.7.5 ROM Spanish consegui that my pda is seen the 100% in clear Spanish but that ROM almost is something old and now the thing this:
Version of the ROM: 1.3.7.5 ESN
Dates of the ROM: 9/29/05
Version of the Radio: 02.19.11
Version of the Protocol: 4.1.13.09
Version of the ExtRom: 2.21.4.104
I what I want to know and to see if somebody me can throw a good cable it is like I can update the ROM (the 2,18 Spanish) and that it does not say to me that if problem with so and problem with as.... since directly of exe that I lower of the FTP of xda developers to me to not it lets me update, and of the pagina of Xda, "http://xda.o2.co.uk/xdaMiniSoftwareDownload.aspx" is version in no Spanish. Good I hope to me to have explained best possible so that podais to give an answer me. Thank you very much beforehand. P.D. Some changes that I have noticed since I have put the new ROM are that in menu of messages it does not appear to me single MMS now appears to me SMS and Outlook messages, also I notice that it goes but slow in spite of putting the tricks to him by the registry, and comm to manager has changed.

Dopod P100(Chinese) - how to turn into English?

I just buy Dopod P100(Chinese), it is very good to use,
but can anyone teach me how to change it to English??
Because when I sync with my outlook(English), may calendar's appiontment are duplicate, one in chinese, and one in english, so I need to change it to English.

For those whom are about to take the journey..
This PDA, NOT A PHONE is also know as:
- Qtek G100
- I-mate PDA-N
- HTC Galaxy
- (and some more)
Me and most people are realy here to change Rom language, so..
I am currently living in beijing and bought mine here, and if there is a place you can find anything, BJ is the place. Below what i have been able to do so far.
- Found a UK Qtek G100 english rom, but got an invalid ID when trying to flash it (dah).
- Wrote to dopod support (china) who were absolutely useless.
- Wrote to dopod (Hong Kong) who said they only supported devices sold in HK.
- Searched High and low for an english rom, but no luck.
- Went to some of shops and asked it they could flash the thing but no one had the rom.
My option now: got the grab_it prog in an SD, and am going to look for an english dopod P100 here in BJ.
Other options:
- I think you Hex edit some files in WM5 to change the interface language (but not sure).
- CID unlock the thing so it can accept any rom file.(tips on how to do that would be greatly appreciated)
- Find a kind soul who was an HK Dopod, and ask them do to download the rom from the HK site. (Singing up requires device s/n verification)
- Hack the Qtek g100 rom so I could flash the Dopod.(not sure how to do that)
Anyway, if anyone has any other ideas or has been sucessfull in flashing the thing please let me know.

Have you found a solution? Mine is in Spanish. I have the english RUU but I get an error message when I try to flash it. I'll be in Beijing at the end of December.

RW6815 -how to upgrade the ROM when language is different

Hello,
On the hp page there is a new ROM 1.12 (english) for my ipaq. I am interesting with this due to a lot of fixes... The problem is that I have the polish ROM (plk). I have nothing against polish but I would like to upgrade the ROM and I prefer english How to do this?
I would be greteful for your help.

It's possible. After unpacking the ROM upgrade replace hpRUU.exe for attachment one. It's don't check language and model of device.

english language packs
i've just got a toshiba e350 ,the rom version is 1.0305.0404, dated: March 5 2003, the problem is that it is in portogues,how do change it to english. i can bearly find my way around. i tried micosoft but could not get any language service packs on the site. someone please HELP!

First, sorry for my bad English.
I have used this hpRUU to upgrade mi hp iPAQ 6815 from English to Dutch
version and i used Sp35820.
So my Office is Dutch on this moment.
And everything on my PDA is Dutch.
I am very happy with this, it runs like hell...thanks.
But now i have a problem.
I attempt to upgrade Office to a newer version but when i use Dutch then i have an error.
Now i was looking in the hpInventory in the PDA and there i can see:
language: English(WWE) (Taal: Engels (WWE))
Is there a possibility to solve this ?
I want to upgrade Office with the Dutch version.
Or maybe there is a possibility to put WM6 Dutch version on my PDA.
On this moment it is WM5.

downgrading my bootloader from 1.05 to 1.0.0.1
on my rw6815 witrh a german file!
The patch of the hpruu.exe didint´t function on my system.
OK i´ve bought a new minisdcard and then easy as 1 2 3 wm 6.5 on 6815...
next i hope of android on 6815....to be contiued
