Whoo...!!! This update speeds the Synchronisation. I could see this reduces the time by 50%.
Tested on Universal. As per Vendor this is compatible for the following devices.
Apply to the following Dopod models:
1. P100
2. 818 Pro
3. 838
4. 900
Setup Procedures:
1. Connect the PDA and PC with USB sync cable
2. Copy the unzipped file USBSwitch_PPC.CAB to PDA (e.g. My Documents)
3. At PDA side, please use File Manager to explore in My Documents and open the USBSwitch_PPC file
4. After installed the file, please go to “Start” > “Programs”, a new icon is called “USB Switch”.
5. Please execute “USB switch” and choose the option “Serial”. Then click “Yes” to confirm the setting and finish all
the setup procedures.
Fixed issues:
1. It can eliminate the slow response issue after performing ActiveSync connection.
2. It can fix the Firewall limitation during Microsoft ActiveSync
Could work on all WM 5.0 Devices.
Hi,
Anybody knows how to default the ActiveSync connection as serial all the time????
After a soft reset, the connection will be back to the original RNDIS....
Cheers,
any solution for the default setting for activesync? It seems to restore back to the original after a soft reset

Everytime I hit the Explore button inside the Activesync window, it opens up the C:// drive on my Desktop PC...not the device. I don't get a Mobile Device icon/drive anywhere when my P3300 is connected to my PC.
This is the first PPC device I've owned that's done this to me. Anyone have the same happen to them...or a solution? I'd like to explore my device through Activesync, but can't find it anywhere right now.
Explore through ActiveSync only launches C:\ window
I have the same thing. Just started happening since wiped my device (so now the device has a new name...)
Interested in any fixes!
Hi, I had the same problem (with AS v4.2 installed) and I fixed it in this way:
1. uninstall AS v4.2
2. reboot the PC
3. delete the "Microsoft ActiveSync" folder where the program was installed (if it still present) and clear the registry (I use RegSeeker)
4. install AS v3.8
5. at this point you can try to explore the device and should work
6. upgrade AS v3.8 to AS v4.2 running v4.2 installer without remove v3.8
7. reboot the PC and you should still be able to explore the device through AS.
could somebody explain me hot to exactly remove this country Id Error.
I read the wiki article and excecuted it step by step. nothing.
First of all i have a QTEK 9000 with latest qtek rom. My bootloader version is 1.00. These are my steps. Does somebody recognizes the mistake
1. Firewall is disabled
2. Activesync 4.2 doesn't allow USB connections
3. Device is connected directly to the usb port
4. When in bootloader mode the device is recognized as smartphone
5. When i start MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe i get NO overview on what is the version number of the firmware etc.
6 I wait >5 sec and press update.
7. the upgrade tool says "congratulations" please hard reset
8. I hard reset the device.
9. when I try to install IVANs AKU 3.2 rom i still get error 120
Any advices???
you have to unpack the aku 3.2 en then put the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe in the same folder where you unpacked the aku3.2 and then it will use the cabinets to upgrade, what you did at first is, you run the MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe, but that exe file needs the aku3.2 files..
steps you have to take are:
1. unpack IVAN AKU 3.2 rom
2. put MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe with the aku 3.2 files
3. Activesync 4.2 doesn't allow USB connections
4. Device is connected directly to the usb port
5. Put device in bootloader mode
5. start MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
6. you know the drill... should install in about 30 to 50 minutes...
Hello,
I bought a used NavMan Mio 168 Pocket PC and I am trying to connect it with a PC with Active Sync 4.5 but never managed.
I also tried to run a programm that I copied it to memory card reader but never run again.
I found windows mobile 6 but I dont know how to install them.
Anyone help
P.S: Is there a way to format it like computer
Thanks
1) YOU CAN NOT INSTALL WM 6 or 5 on that device!!!
2) Google and find an older version of ActiveSync 3.8 or 3.7 should work better with your device. Also give more details as to what error you are getting.
3) Some programs come as desktop installer and must be ran from the PC. If you downloaded an exe file it is probably a desktop installer.
4) On the back of the device there is a small on/off switch. Turning it to "off" will disconnect the battery and erase all data / programs / changes from the device restoring it to factory settings (OS + built in programs).
Anybody plz help me setup activesync via bluetooth...I am using k rom 1.30a full and bluesoleil 5.05...I could use activesync in default microsoft stack but that is just too crappy to be used ...the problem lies in activesync com port selection dialogue box ....it doesnt show the serial comport that blusoleil is using(com 24)in my case...Any body know how to make (com24) available in the activesync?
I will be very much thankful
Try using Widcomm bluetooth software and get the ISSCBTA driver.
Im using it and it works quite well. here is a link to a great guide:

This works for me:
Determine the local (PC) virtual serial port. For Toshiba Bluetooth stack (my case) went to: from Start -> Control Panel -> Bluetooth Local COM which Com port the “LocalCOM-Server[SerialPort]” is assigned to (in my case COM7),
Open the Registry Editor in Vista and go to: HKEYLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\ and change the SerialPort from “Bluetooth” to the assigned COM port you found before (like COM7)
That’s it. Now reboot (dont' skip rebooting, otherwise it will not work) your PC and create a new Bluetooth partnership (I’m always initiating it from Windows Mobile). Should appear now ActiveSync.

Hello,
First instal ActiveSync 4.5 in PC. - if not already installed
Code:
http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/activesync.html
Then in settings in (ActiveSync) disable (NOT check): "allowed to connect to one of the following port" and "Allow connection to USB".
Perhaps the translation is correct. I use the CZ version. But it's second and third check box.
Now
This works for when the Universal is in Bootloader and Windows Mobile.
1. First download the ROM you want to install.
2. Extract it to a folder (use winar or other extraction software).
3. There will be up to 3 ROMs in the package: ms_.nbf (Extended ROM), nk.nbf (OS ROM), radio_.nbf (Radio ROM)
4. Delete those which you don't want to install. (If you just want to upgrade the radio rom for instance delete ms_.nbf and nk.nbf and leave radio_.nbf.)
5. Download UniversalRUU.zip
6. Extract it and copy into that folder the nbf files you want to install.
7. Enter BootLoader mode by pressing and holding the power button and backlight button whilst performing a reset with the stylus. And plug to PC. Wait few seconds.
8. Doubleclick ROMUpgradeUt.exe and follow the instructions
9. When the upgrade is finished pull out the USB cable from the Universal.
10. You will need to do a soft reset OR hard reset depending on the situation. (note: some say do a soft reset / others a hard reset .. possibly someone with more knowledge could correct me here, but until then it's best to investigate the matter for yourself on the forum.)
11. To do a hard reset (push the two menu buttons ("-") on the keyboard + the reset button at the same time (all of this three). Doing a hard reset will result in you losing all your installed apps and data so ensure you have a backup of everything first.) Everything should be fine from this time. You have to calibrate the screen and do some tutorial...
12. If after doing a hard reset you want your Universal not to install the extras from the Extended ROM wait untilsetup is complete and then do a softreset when the popup window appears (you have 3 seconds before it installs ExtendedROM)
For a long time I have not installed the new ROM. I remember so I proceeded as follows
