Broken Screen on my o2 xda 2s

hi guys !
my problem is written in Title kiddin
before 2 days my brother broke screen on my baby and i have some questions! screen got little crack, color, sharpnesss etc. is normal but its not touch screen anymore! :/
so what should i buy: that plastic which he broke (costs 20$) or whole touch screen (costs about 100$) ?
more reasonably is to buy that plastic, but some guy told me that i need to buy whole screen (he wanna sell it to me for about 120e) but i dont belive him!
what are our opinions ??

Mine is cutted and I have a good LCD and bad PCB cable!!
Does anyone knows how to remove it? and to glue it back?

hey fellas. my fone went thru tuff times still its lcd never cracked o wateva even fell off from my hand a couple o times earlier. but sum how it broke yesterday during a call wen it slipped off. and wen i cheked it out my lcd was cracked and it leaked.. the touch screen functions but the display being messed with leakage. m guessing i have to replace the LCD i did a lil search n found rbay selling the lcd display off(below is the link):

I somehow don't think you can get away with just a digitizer replacement. Your link shows a touch screen only, which is good for replacing the screen layer responsible for the touch function. The screen consists of 2 parts - the LCD screen itself and a digitizer. You mention your screen leaked, that indicates your entire screen is broken, therefore you will need the entire screen AND a digitizer replaced. Best done in one unit. i believe "acx526akm-7" is the part i need to b searchin of . do u know any place i can get a cheap quote on this part as it seems to b kindda costly..

I already told you what you need. The LCD and a digitizer of that size ARE costly, still, some can be even costlier. Getting an LCD and attempting to attach a digitizer will be costlier, because you can't do it yourself. The part number will still point you in the direction of LCD replacement. Another option would be buying a broken unit and pulling a working LCD.

I can sell you my uni, You'll get the whole unit and the screen was fine when the USB broke, You'd be benefitting yourself, Enigma and myself.

how much u selling it off for .. m fed up with my jasjar alweady.. but at the same time addicted to it lol.. oh n yeah i would like jus the lcd if posible user665 ..

Ya, name a price. I would buy it as well if the price is ok. I have the same prob, the LCD is cracked.

one more thing. if possible click sum pics of ur uni so i may know hows its condition is.. if the cfondition is fine m ready to buy the whole unit .. plus it b better if the m.b b a working one n not a poofed off one lol

I need an advice, my phone just fell out of my palm and it's screen is completely shattered. The touch screen is fully functional but the screen shows orange-ish dots. Is the the LCD or the broken glass just presses it?
Screen repair here costs ~500 bucks, which I ofcourse refuse to pay.
TL;DR:
What should I order to fix it myself , and is it worth it?
(LCD + touch screen? )

I would ask the ebayer, not us about the LCD2 screen
And if I was you, I wouldn't even bother going anywhere near repairing it yourself, unless you have experience. They are so complex its unreal.

Another question, when my iPod touch cracked I tried to replace the glass... it didn't turn out well. I only ordered the digitizer , at the end it was attached to the LCD.
Anyone knows if it's the same with the HOX? Really can't afford a 500$ repair now.

yeah they are attached normally, hox, the glass is attached to the screen.
my dhd when smashed, was declared beyond economical repair.
its only really if the screen isn't smashed too badly that you might be able to warm it up enough to loosen the glue, but you'll probably damage the lcd itself in the process. and then you'll probably bugger up re attaching the new glass. even htc buggered it up with the yellow spots etc on lots of the early models
you're better off getting the whole screen with glass. it will be fiddly, but there are a few teardown guides for hox, and if you research this enough, and make sure you have the right tools for the job, it should be fine.
if i was in your situation, i would try it .. but i would make a million % sure that the screen i was buying was a genuine screen.

Please help. I had crack on my glass and i need to repair it. I heard that you could change touch only with lcd. Can you show me the photo who look original lcd + touch.
I want to buy one on ebay but I afraid of fake...

I haven't heard of anybody who managed to separate digitiser and LCD.

Hi, I'm wanting to replace my HOXs screen.
There are yellow spots on the screen, does this mean I need to replace the lcd panel as well or if I just replace the glass/digitizer will this fix the yellow spots?
Also, I managed to fix a galaxy ace screen (glass/digitizer) by separating the digitizer from the lcd panel and the lcd panel is fine. I know it has been said it's not really possible to separate the two with the HOX but if I have managed to do it for the ace, do you think it's possible for the HOX??
Any thoughts would be appreciated

You don't really need to replace the screen if you have orange spots ,just put the screen on full brightness over night and your problems will be solved , if you want to replace the screen ,replace the whole thing as you said I have seen only one video out of 60 that the guy was successful in ceperating digitiser from LCD ,good luck

Sorry I forgot to mention that the screen is cracked too. But my main concern was separating the lcd from the digitizer. I did do it for the ace and it was pretty easy buy if you think I would be better off to replace the panel and digitizer, then I'll do that.

The things is, the ace and the hox are very different devices. Just because you've managed to seperate digitizer and screen on the ace doesn't mean you could do that on the hox too. Just compare the space between LCD and digitizer of both devices and you'll see what I mean.

You wont manage to seperate the screen from the digitizer trust me, i tryed it and the glue is too strong + the lcd is too fragile.
