Guys,
There are a billion different options for updating the Wizard - could someone in the know please mention what the most current (perhaps by module - radio, etc) versions are?
I have a qtek 9100 and have just installed the 2.17 update. I like it, but have no idea if there's a more up-to-date version available that's compatible with WWE devices.
Can anyone help out??
TIA,
A.

hi group,
Can anyone tell me what is the latest ROM available for uk o2 xda2s. I have recently swapped my xda2 for 2s but am disappointed by it being slow and freezing quite often.Wonder if it is hardware problem or software problem. Want to check if i have the latest software before complaining to o2. My present rom version is 1.12.62 WWE and radio version is 1.02.00.
cheers

XDA IIs ROM Update works only for UK???
Dear All
I've come across the latest available ROM update for the XDAIIs on the UK site of O2.
ROM Version : 1.31.139
Radion Version: 1.06
It claims that it works only on the UK and Ireland version of the O2 XDAIIs
I have bought my XDAIIs from Malaysia and am am afraid that I might end up damaging my device if I install this ROM update.
Can anyone guide me on this and also let me know how to back up my present ROM. I've tried the romupdate.exe ROM backup software but seems that it can't detect the \\.\WCEUSBHS001 port which it needs to open to connect to the device on the cradle....
Help Please !!!!!!!

I have just tried to install this rom upgrade and my XDAiis stuck on a dark screen with USB and V2.06 written on it. It has now gone back to O2 to sort out.
Just thought I would warn people before they decided to go down the rom upgrade path.
XDA IIs Upgrade
Take a look at this thread for some experiences in loading and backing up fpr the latest O2 update for the XDA 2s.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/vie...ostorder=asc&highlight=o2+xdaiis+rom&start=25
A couple of things I would recommend for the 1.31 WWE version:
1. Install it in "corporate mode" See link above (page 2) for code you need toward the end of install. Corp mode excludes O2 Active software from the install, which makes the device slow and unstable.
2. Keep the number of Today Plug ins to a minimum. Pocket Plus and Battery Bar both seem to conflict with the device and cause more freezes with this ROM. Hopefully the next version of the ROM will be more compatible with these apps which worked well on my old xda 2.
3. The abve thread has a few folks trying to use this on Asian units, Not clear if anyone has been successful..
If you really want to get the latest and greatest, the companion site to this forum wiki developers of course has "all you need to know about building your own ROM, but were afraid to ask"
Hope this helps

Hi Guys !
I've been going through this forum since I got my XDA2i a couple of months ago. I have the following config :
ROM 1.10.00WWE
ROM Date 12/24/2004
Radio Version 1.00.00
Protocol Version 1337.39
ExtROM Version 1.10.124 WWE
Model No PH10C
I wanted to know if there is a possibility of better versions of these, even if they are of other models/manufacturers, to be put together on 1 XDA2i and make it work like one helluva machine ?
Can you recommend / attach the files to this question and tell me a little more about it as I am a non techie !
cheers
Prattz
you can get the new rom version off the o2 website .just follow the links
My extrom is blank should there be something there ?- it seems to work ok.
Guys,
Thanks for the inputs, the reason I have put the question up is that I have seen people having higher versions of the various stuff. They've got ROm from somewhere and Radio stack from somewhere else etc.
1. I wanted to use your expertise in creating an all powerful tool.
2. Add Blackberry functionality as was advertised earlier by O2, what
a let down now that they've removed all mentions of the blackberry.
Would really appreciate help in this regard.
cheers

There are two upgrades i know of ... one is the new I-mate upgrade, which came before the O2 one and has a newer Radio version .
BUT
the newest upgrade is the O2 upgrade, even though it doesnt have an upgraded radio.
A solution is to use the Rom "pug" posted, which uses the O2 upgrade but also includes the i-mate radio version.
You get the latest, and best of each so .... heres the link ... ftp://xdaupload:[email protected] XDA_IIi_Upgrade_v1.11.162 Radio_1.3.rar
I suggest you read through this 3 page thread first though as it will give you all the advice you need.

Hi, I've been trying to get hold of a more recent version of the radio ROM for my Universal (Orange-branded SPV M5000), and since my network provider's ROM update doesn't patch up to the latest version I resorted to the links on these forums. However, all the links to version 1.15 of the Radio ROM on the xda-developers ftp server seem to be dead, and in fact just trying to connect to the server root using the links in the wiki brings up a "the server is unreachable" error. I don't know if the server is temporarily down or whether the admins of this site have been forced to take down all links to it.
I have, however, managed to download one of the cooked WM6 ROMs linked to from these forums but hosted on other ftp sites. The one I picked is the L26 WM6 Pro V7 Videocall 2 ROM, which, in its release notes, says that the radio ROM included is 1.15. My question is, can I take the radio_.nbf file from that ROM and flash my device with it, or is that a specifically-WM6 version of the radio ROM which won't work on my WM5 Universal unless I flash it to WM6?
SEARCH for DARKFORCE ROM under windows mobile 6. You should find it included in the package.
---
Is the version of the 1.15 radio ROM included in the Darkforce package any different than the version included in Laurentius26's package? They're both WM6 packages - my question was whether the radio ROMs included in the would work the same with WM5 (I don't want to upgrade the WM6 as I lots of people seem to be having stability problems with it from what I'm reading on here, and I don't need any of the extra functions in 6).
Also, the bug that Bluetooth switches itself off under the 1.15 radio ROM that some people have reported: does it occur under WM5 or just under WM6?

I am not familiar with what kind of RADIO version Leo's ROM contains. I tried his a long time ago, so I forgot. But DarkForce ROM was the first one to release on this site version 1.15.00. It was the source of every Radio version 1.15.00 that you see out here.
The BT problem is in the CE ROM. The Radio ROM has nothing to do with that.
I suggest you read on how to upgrade just the radio part before pursuing anything else. You might end up upgrading everything and that is EQUAL TO A HARD RESET.
BACKUP first is the RULE!!!!
---
Yep, thanks, so I take it that since his is the source it WILL work on WM5 as well? Don't worry, I already read the relevant page on the wiki about how to upgrade the radio without flashing the whole thing! I just wanted to make sure all these WM6 radio ROMS will work on WM5 before doing anything!
Yes it works under WM5. You can update just the radio rom without a hard reset. You will find a guide somewhere here in the forums or in the wiki. I would have to search myself.
Hello,
since July 2007 I've been testing a lot of cooked and not not cooked (original) ROMs and suddenly, one moth ago, I've not achieved to have a stable device working: hang, black/white screen, stuch on load, etc, etc.
Now, I've cooked the original WM5 ROM (+ SDcorrupted card issue solved) and, I cross my fingers, everything seems to be OK.
That's why I wonder if anyone know if maybe these kind of issiues are due to certain incompabilities of different versions of firmware (Protocol, Bootloader, ROM , OSBuild & Radio). Because we are mixing differents releases of firmware and I don't know if anyone knows if that is right or not.
Any ideas?
Regards
Paco
When I got my replacement AT&T 8525, it came with the AT&T WM5 ROM. I decided to downgrade to the Cingular WM5 version since I didn't like the AT&T one. I've been skeptical about upgrading to the official WM6 release, and I figured that since I have some time tonight that I would. However, I do have a couple of questions about how this will work since I had to install a different bootloader in order to make the change back to the Cingular WM5 version possible.
Currently my settings are:
ROM version: 1.34.502.1
ROM date: 09/21/06
Radio version: 1.40.30.00
HardSPLv7
My question are, do I need to modify my radio version before I upgrade? Also, should I modify my bootloader before I upgrade to the official WM6? Thanks.
Firstly good job on flashing HardSPL.
your radio doesnt need to be changed at all, but if you want to take a peek at my tests here that might help you choose an appropriate radio version.
For WM6 DEFINATLY go for it, the updated stacks/drivers/kernel are definatly faster than the WM5 versions.
Give the pandora naked 7 ROM a shot........it will FLY.
Your settings can be restored for AT&T using the HTC network wizard (easily found with a search).......and make sure you backup all your contacts etc... using PIMBackup (in the development forum).
I keep getting an error 264 connection error saying that the update utility cannot connect to my phone. I've followed all the steps. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. The only thing that sparks my mind that I don't remember occuring before is that when I plug my phone in via USB ActiveSync automatically begins, so I wasn't sure if I needed to disable that function or not since the instructions mentioned something about being sure that happens before installing the new ROM.
Any help? I'm still stuck here.
I just did mine (I am a brand new to all this) and I followed these steps word for word in this thread, adn man what a difference .
read these all the way through.

Nates good people and willing to help although he is a caffeine addict
and after you upgrade the rom do this, but read it all before doing so
HTC plug in , great look for the 8525

Oh i forgot, the HTC att WM6 included the radio upgrade to the 1.48. which works great.
