I think I've posted this question before (or am I dreaming?), but somehow, I can't find my original post
Is it possible to setup BA to appear as a Bluetooth input device (kbd/mouse) to a computer? That would mean to make it a HID-compliant device.
To re-iterate, I'm not interested in connecting external kbd to BA, i want the BA to be the keyboard for desktop computer!
Bemused is not quite what I'm looking for -- it's only for music and it's not native to Windoze Mobile.
Any ideas?
Mucho gracias!
OK, I think what I need is Bluetooth HID service on the phone.
I've applied BT patch from XDA-developers FTP and now in BT manager I have options to connect High Q Audio and External Keyboard, but that's about it.
Does anyone know which BT stack has it?
I have 1.40 Rom (WM2003) and Widcomm bluetooh
1.0.0 3900
thanks

Don't you mean: Connect GPS via other cable in your TT6 config, instead of the BT Headset??
I have exactly the same problem here. (HTC Blue Angel with BlueTooth for Windows CE BT-PPC/PE Version 1.0.0 Build 3900)
When TT6 is installed, I can pair with my Jabra BT135 and create a shortcut, but I can't connect to it by using the shortcut.
After removing TT6 from the Blue Angel, I can connect to the Jabra using the same shortcut immediately.
So think with me here, why is this happening?
Could it be the case that the HTC Blue Angel is only capable of having 1 BlueTooth device/COM-port/connection/channel,
and that TT6 is somehow claiming a BlueTooth channel for a wireless GPS BT receiver that it could try to connect to and so the Jabra won't connect to it anymore?
Or is the HTC Blue Angel capable of connecting with more than one BT-device at a time, but are the headset and TT6 using the same COM-port for BT communications or something? In the second case, how can I change the port used by either the Jabra of TT6 ?!?
Does anybody have an answer to this?
have just resolved an issue others may have with TT6 installation affecting Bluetooth earpiece functionality.
Actually, I found the answer on the net after literally days of searching!.
If you have installed TT6, it will overwrite at least one bluetooth dll file. This can prevent other BT devices functioning after TT6 install. On my XDA 2s, I was able to pair my bluetrek G2 headset, but not connect. The answer is to re-name the "BtCoreIf.dll" file in the PDA wndows file to ""BtCoreIfold.dll".
Immediately, I had my BT earpiece functinality back, AND TTN 6 works too! Don't ask me how, it just worked for me
qtek9090
On my BlueAngel is the same with TT6 vs. Motorola Headset H300.
I've tried to rename BtCoreIf.dll but system don't let me to delete the original file I thing because it is in ROM.
I simple do a workaround: open bt service and connect the headset manually

Then you don't have the problem as descibed in this topic at all. Because when TT6 is installed, it is impossible to connect to the BT headset (manually).
So I guess you are lucky.

I think so: when headset is connected, TT6 do not connect automatically the Gps receiver, I must to doubleclick on Gps icon.
And vice versa.
Hey all,
I've got a bit of a problem. Since the release of wm5 AKU 3.0, BT DUN is no longer present, instead we are supposed to use BT PAN. I read the articles in which microsoft explains why they removed it, and also that it is optional in WM6. I saw the .cab files in MUN's WM6 thread but I can't get them to work.
I use BT DUN to dial in to my domain with my VPN at the windows logon screen. BT PAN is about as useful as a frying pan in this case because I need to be logged in to connect BT PAN...I think they call that a conundrum
Anyway ever since I've had the trinity I have been using ICS with USB which does auto connect before logon. The thing is I prefer BT because it is just simply more convenient.
If anyone has a solution, either buy adding a working BT DUN profile or with BT PAN I'd really like to know about it.
Look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307235
I already read that thread but it's a no go
I also would really need the DUN Profile, but it does not work on mine too...
I just went and tried superdave's widcomm stack for the hermes, no joy though.
I'm running WM6 SE (not TE) and my DUN profile is flawless.
Use it from my TomTom 910, laptop and work PDA.
Wish PAN was supported by other devices so I could use all 3 at once.
what's WM6 SE?
and where can I get it?
Hi!
Do you know a Bluetooth HID Client for WM5 or WM6?
I'm talking about a piece of software that lets my artemis act like a Bluetooth Mouse or Keyboard so I can control any device that supports bluetooth mice and keyboards (as a windows PC)
also i wanted to ask if theres a good ressource on which stuff can be done with bluetooth.
HID is just one of many applications.
what about using camera of artemis as a Webcam for PC?
Or what about using the artemis as a monitor?
would be cool... i guess!
thxalot
just dreaming of Arte as wireless
speakers, screen, webcam, mouse, keyboard, remote music control, sim card(?), data storage ...
already managed to use it as a GPS receiver with GPSGate.
I want to be able to tether my Axim x51v up to my cell phone using bluetooth so I can access the internet occasionally. I tried to install the WIDCOMM bluetooth stack and then the x51v was no longer visible by Vista's Windows Mobile Device Center. I ended up doing a hard reset and am back to the Microsoft bluetooth stack which is so limited in comparison. Anyone have any suggestions?
I am using WIDCOMM bluetooth stack install work with Dell Axim x51v WM6 (Football), I can connect to my cell phone using bluetooth and access the internet...
rolwu: can you go into settings --> connections --> usb to pc and try to uncheck 'enable advanced network functionality' and tell me what happens please? also, do you still have a 'bluetooth explorer' icon in programs? what happens if you click on that icon? just a couple of the problems that i had right off the bat with the widcomm bluetooth stack and want to see if you have them as well. it is very possible that i installed it wrong or just did something incorrectly. thanks!

Yes it works!!!!
Hi Football, are you planning to remove the old Microsoft Stack ? It would be nice to release also a Widcomm enabled ROM...
Cheers!
Football: first of all, thank you for the work you did to create the great WM6 image for the Axim x51v. You have breathed new life into my old device.
If you would not mind Football, would you please give me a link to the Broadcomm stack that you installed and instructions, or a link to a thread that provides instructions, on how to install it? For some reason the one that I installed, Widcomm (which I assume is the same as Broadcomm), did not work properly.
Oh, and do you have a paypal account Football? I would not mind sending you a small gift as a token of my appreciation for your efforts.
I went ahead and tried to install the BroadcomBluetoothStackX51V05 from aximsite (which I assume is the correct one to use) and performed a soft reset as instructed. I then made the change to the registry to set the flow control value to '0' (not sure if that is still required). However, I have a few problems using this bluetooth stack:
(a) The Axim will no longer synchronize with Windows Mobile Device Center (using Vista Ultimate). If someone can please explain how to get this working I would appreciate it.
(b) If I go into Settings --> Connections --> USB to PC, I can not uncheck the 'Enable advanced network functionality' or I get this error - "Failed to disable RNDIS to use Serial." It was suggested to uncheck this in other posts related to troubleshooting failed connections with WMDC.
(c) Programs --> Bluetooth Explorer, when launched tells me that "Bluetooth radio is turned off. Do you want to turn it on?" Bluetooth is already on but I select 'Yes' and eventually it tells me "Failed to turn on Bluetooth radio."
These are the problems I have noticed so far. Do others who are using this Bluetooth stack have the same problems with the WM6 A03 ROM? Can you synchronize with Windows Mobile Device Center?
I appreciate you help and feedback.
Hi djlenoir...
I installed the Widcomm stack from Aximsite and I also experienced same problems as you...
The '0' in the registry is not required for normal operation I think. The Hardware Flow Control must be disabled only if you connect an A2DP device to improve performance and stabilty. I'm having issue about point (c) as you and I think the BT explorer only works with MS Stack... When I tried It, also created a useless bluetooth device folder(same as CF or SD) in the file explorer wich I had to remove deleting a startup menu shortcut created by the system. Another issue is the BT Obex file transfer speed wich cannot be sustained at so high default speed (I'm having chopping between 2 and 60 KB/s. Reverting to slow speed using BTSpeedSwitcher seems to solve the problem but speed si only 28-30 KB/s. Tryed with MANY BT dongles and different PC stack (Widcomm, M$, Bluesoleil).
Cheers
Football Add The BroadCom Bluetooth Stack To Your New WM6 A05 ROM
Yes, the broadcom bluetooth stack works perfect with the X51v running Football's wm6 RTM A03 ROM. Now Football all you need to do now is add the broadcom bluetooth stack to your new wm6 A05 ROM! It's got the perfect setup for SKYPE!

I feel the opposite and prefer to leave MS BT stack since we can always install the Broadcom stack whenever we like. In fact, I found the A2DP sound quality a lot better from the original stack

With out a doubt, the broadcom bluetooth stack has better stereo sound quality, than the Microsoft bluetooth stack, that's plain to see and hear. Plus I use the broadcom bluetooth stack to make VOIP (SKYPE) phone calls but I cannot do that with the Microsoft bluetooth stack.

Read my thread in the Excalibur forum on how I installed the bluetooth Dun.cab file on my T-Mobile Dash, now I can pair both devices (my X51v and my T-Mobile Dash) via bluetooth Dun, go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340762 and get the bluetooth Dun.cab file download and complete details, works like a charm...............!

It's only without "your" doubt. Not to mention a serious bug in broadcom A2DP (across all PDA I tested) which system volume adjustment is not working. I found my SE HBH-DS220 a lot worse than the original MS stack on x51v. (But the same handset works very good w/ my Asus P525 which also has use broadcom stack. Maybe some tweak is need...)
Since different people got different need, it's better to leave it and have the user to install broadcom stack as needed
Menneisyys And Mike Spikle Were The First To Come With The Broadcom BT Stack!

I have been using the Broadcom bluetooth stack way back before Dell ever thought of a x51v! We only had the X50v back then in those days! (Old School) Menneisyys and his friend Mike Spikle were the first ones to introduce the Broadcomm bluetooth stack and I still have the same download of their first original fix with the bluetoothspeedswitcher.zip and the flowcontrolhack.reg on both of my x51v's. I have never had a skipping problem, the stereo sound is perfect. Menneeisyys uses the Plantronics 590A bluetooth headset and I also use the same headset for that perfect stereo sound quality. Maybe, you are using a different broadcom bluetooth stack, than what we are using, because I have no problem using the volume control (high or low) again it works like a charm and always has.................!
First of all: For about a year, the keyboard was working fine, using thinkoutside 4.52 official driver. Then I got a nice gift: logitech V470 BT laser mouse. Then the hell begun. How in the world connect it to the PDA?
Someone on this forum claimed that V470 works on HTC Athena out-of-the-box, using included in wm6/wm6.1 bluetooth hid stack. For some reason, after I pair the mouse and check input device in BT services list - nothing happens. I tried:
- uninstalling ThinkOutsde driver - the even keyboard stopped working, even thi I paired it and checked input device,
- bluemouse/ blueinput - it says BT on, mouse off. On their site I read it's probably due to incompatible BT stack. No chances of telling what BT stack is installed on PPC... :/
- using hacked version of stowaway keyboard/mouse driver. I got "keyboard not working / please reinstall stowawayxt.dll" error. I checked - hacked one has 162kB, the one from 4.52 - 59kB and is signed, while hacked one is not. WTF?
- I know, that stowaway disables built-in HID, but even when I'm enabling it again, nothing is happening.
- Deep search on google on v470, bluetooth hid, bluetooth at all on PDAs, bt stacks and such revealed nothing. Please, help!

Hello Vartharian, did you ever have any luck getting the Bluetooth mouse to work? I too am trying to find a solution, but I lack the hacked thinkoutside files to work from.
If you have one I can take a look and see if I can reverse engineer a fix.
Thanks,
Peter

Some kind of BlueTek (or something) drivers for WinMo to enable BT mouse use. Found them in some download somewhere in the tubes, look for "BlueMouse driver" or something. Installs driver and settings panel. Hope this helps. Maybe then you could get some sweet Quake action going.
