Where are o2 / t mobile and Qtek upgrades - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

What are they doing with their rom upgrades either cooking in kitchen or warming in microwave.
In this competitive environment, still checking and checking. Despite all, roms will be having bugs as always so what's the point to keep customers waiting.

T-Mobile already have released a new rom, so that makes 3 which includes orange and imate.
Still no word from qtek and o2... wonder what's taking them so long. Maybe they will release with stereo bluetooth?

T mobile
I think it is not an upgrade as it is the same which was released in french language now is in WWE.
It does not have A2DP and MSFP which is now the part of imate and orange.

Sorry,
I based my assumption on version number and rom date which is newer but I guess that wasn't enough to be cosidered an upgrade.
my mistake
cheers

This is exactly what they are trying to play smartly

Although I've never tried an old T.Mobile ROM., i found their newest to run as fast as the orange and Imate ROMS generally speaking.
Also the screen rotations are at par with the other 2 ROM's....

??? None of them have A2DP.

I thnk the T_Mobile has some own version of Stereo over bluetooth so I'm lead to believe.
I don't have my own stereo headset so can't really say

I'm running the T-Mobile ROM on my JasJar at the moment, purely because I want Stereo Bluetooth, and I'm not too bothered about push e-mail...At the moment, I've gotten used to my phone checking every 60 minutes, which is enough for my personal e-mails (and I have a company B****berry).
I've upgraded the Radio to 1.09.00, so my details are as follows:
ROM Version: 1.20.32 WWE
ROM Date: 11/16/05
Radio Version: 1.09.00
ExtROM Version: 1.20.120 WWE
I'm happy. I have no problems streaming all of my stereo ogg files with the latest version of Conduits Pocket Player, and as far as I can tell, the OS is no slower than it was when I was using the latest imate ROM. The fact that I happen to be on T-Mobile UK helps, because all my connection details etc. are already loaded after a hard reset.
What I can't believe is that this ROM has been around since November... Stereo Bluetooth works without a hitch, and yet: a) I hadn't heard about it until last week, and b) no other numb-nuts OEM's have managed to implement a stereo Bluetooth protocol of any description yet.
I will of course upgrade to an AKU2 ROM when someone (i-mate) finally pulls their finger out and puts push e-mail and stereo bluetooth on the same ROM!!!

Actually, the ROM has been available since last year but they first released it in GERMAN!!!! hehehe
THey just released the english one....

Can I ask where you got the PDF?
Also, do you know how its going to be despatched?
Cheers
Blackberry
Does the XDAIIs upgrade include a Blackberry client?

Just thingking you might want to share that pdf file with us. Upload it, please......
ditto
Hi
Aye, ditto on the upload request please!! Not seen anything on O2's website, my xda or sourceo2. I sure hope they intend to make it available as a download on the same date rather than keep non corporate users waiting.

Hi
I assume that they mean the help+faq section and theres nought in there currently. Cant find anything on source o2 either. The XDAIIs launch rom has been in the wrong place on sourceo2 for over 2 months !!!! (they uploaded the wrong rom at first - XDAII launch rom - and hosed loads of peoples IIs machines)
Silly buggers
Nigel
According to Tekguru it is not out until March 1st but will be in production units from next week
Hmmm.. Wonder why the radio version is 1.06 but not 1.06.02
I Got my IIs last week and it come shipped with this rom already
didnt think to check it, been messin with it that much lol
here is the updated bluetoth patch for all to share, sorted out my probs with bt200 headset
Bit disappointing that the BT build is still 3500, they sent that to us bout a month ago & it fixed next to nothing.
We've even made them pay for a couple of car kits to be replaced when the "compatible bt products" list proved to be garbage.
The most annoying thing for me is still the mic level/quality with the phone, this is obviously software related as it works ok with voice recording, skype & even works better wen on speakerphone. Any sign of this improving?

tried to download the pdf file (Xda_IIs_131139_upgrade.pdf), but nothing happen. how can i download this file?
Evening ladies and gents!
Right, I'm this close to buying a 2s, but what is the liklihood of it ever geeting Blackberry connect?
I'm stunned by the short sightedness of o2 in this respect. It is the perfect device to use as a BB replacement, but the put the client on the xda II instead?
Smartner/xmail whatever just aren't viable alternatives I'm afraid, and I suspect that this will be the case for many people.
Cheers
Looks like O2 now have the thing on their upgrade web site. And two days early as well! Go grab it all from here.
No mention of Blackberry though. Only major update is for bluetooth.
True, but given the crappy quality of my HS850's connection I am hopping this will be the biz for my use, at least.
Strange Rom used in Singapore
My Singapore IIs has the below rom. Does anyone know why the ExtROM Version of my current rom is "newer" then the lastest update from O2? Is there is huge difference between Radio Ver. 1.02 and 1.06? Thank you so much if anyone is know enought to help.
ROM Ver:1.31.00WWE
ROM DATE:12/13/04
Radio Version:1.02.00
Protocol Version:1337.32
ExtROM Version:1.31.920WWE
Hmmm, I tried applying the update. Now the O2 Icon is over in the right of the screen and I cannot pull down the list of connections when I tap on it. Anyone know of a way to move it back to the old position?

XDA IIs Software and Bluetooth Headset

I've recently purchased an XDA IIs (unlocked and used on Vodaphone). Overall very impressed but I am having some annoying problems that I'm hoping for advice on (my collegue has also purchased one and is having similar problems, so I don't think it a hardware problem)
The XDA has just the standard O2 software apps installed and I have upgraded to ROM 1.31.00 WWE (from my-xda.com a few days ago), its say radio version is 1.06.00
Problems:
1) Very unreliable software, I quite frequently (several times a day) have to press the reset button. I seem to have the most recent version from O2. I see some comments on the forum about disabling O2 Active software?
2) I'm using a Bluetooth headset (Jabra BT250), this worked well with my previous phone a Nokia 6310i. Specifically:
- When I receive an incoming call it rings on the headset, if I answer by pressing the button on the headset in generally (but not always) answers with the headset connected as I need. But if I answer by pressing the answer button on the phone (hard button or pop-up menu button) the headset isn't connected and its a struggle to get it to connect mid call. However if I make outgoing calls in nearly always uses the headset correctly. Very annoying an inconsistent behaviour. I'd rather not use a different headset as I like the Jabra and the problems seem to be due to the XDA as it worked fine on the 6310i
- The range is hopeless, people say its very hard to hear me if the XDA is more than a couple of feet away, even turning my head so the Jabra and XDA are on opposite sides degrades the quality badly, I didn't think my head was that thick! With the 6310i I could be at least 10 feet away
- The volume, even at maximum, is too low, especially in a noisy environement like a car. It's much less than with the 6310i on exactly the same BT 250
I hope there are some fixes for this. I think the XDA is a great, really useful all in one device, but the poor relaibility and terrible bluetooth headset support are really spoiling it for me
Regards
Mike
Hi...
I just ordered my XDA IIs..hehe..selling my PDA2k now..love the black color..
Hehe..anyway, my PDA2k was using the BT 3500 drivers and i have the same problem as yours occasionally.
Most of the time, when i answer from the unit (not the BT headset's button), the caller can barely hear my voice.
However if i use the BT headest's button, it was fine...
I was using the Jabra BT250 also..but sold it to get the Motorola HS850..
Both are giving me the same problems...
I've read on several threads where poeple are successful in using the BT 3900 patch (sorry of i'm wrong)..but my PDA2k does not work with the patch..the screen turns garbage n messed up..had to hard reset it
I love this unit..canlive around with its current problems..hehe..hopefully it gets fixed.
Cheers!
The BT problems described above appear fairly common amoung xdaIIs users. Based on my research on this, there are a few things listed below that can help. Listed in order of ease to do. Start with 1 and progress to 5 if you are feeling brave :? or wait for 6!
1. (EASY) Keep your add on "Today Plugins" to an absolute minimum: I have found that SBP Pocket Plus to be particularly troubelsome and had to uninstall it.
2. (NOT TOO DIFICULT) Disable O2 Active: O2 advised me that the xda2s is more stable in "corporate mode" with O2 Active disabled. To do this you will need to back up your device data to your PC and then do a hard reset. As the device boots up and starts to go through the configuration process, you will be prompted to choose "corporate mode". You only have about 5 seconds to say "yes" before the configuration continues and installs personal mode. Select 'yes' and you will be prompted for a code. Enter 0506 (that's zero five zero
six) and tap Finish. You will see the message "Welcome corporate user, O2 Active won't be installed". Your device is now ready and you will have everything except the Active User Interface.
3. (MORE DIFFICULT) Upgrade your BT Stack from BT Build 3500 to BT 3900. Details on how to do this are provide in the companion wiki-developers forum
4. (A LITTLE SCARY) Upgrade your Radio Stack to 1.10 and your BT Stack to Build 3900. If you want to upgrade the radio stack at all, WIKI folks recommend upgrading the radio stack first and then the BT Stack.
5. (MORE SCARY!) Upgrade your BT and Radio Stack AND your ROM. WIKI have posted 1.40, which it seems can be used in conjunction with the existing extended ROM on the O2 XDA 2s. Not for the feint hearted, although the instruction they post for this are pretty comprehensive I must say.
I "talked" to one xda2s user who had gone through to step 5 and most of his issues had been resolved. I am at number 2 right now... Thinking of going to 3,4,and 5, but probably waiting for 6.........
6...?......ah yes...., wait for O2 to post the next full ROM update...
Hope that helps
Regards
Chris

Chris
Thanks for this. I changed to Corporate mode 6 days ago and its only had one crash, compared to before 5-6 times PER DAY!
Any idea when O2 are meant to be offering the next ROM update (are we talking weeks or months)?
Regards
Mike
I can't not see the 5 seconds page for selecting "corporate mode" when i do a hard reset.
I do hard reset by press on/off button + press on reset button.
Hi Mike
Well, it is supposed to be the end of April, so my guess is that it will be weeks, rather than months at this point. Also, the 1.40 ROM posted on wiki is a WWE version, so maybe this is a 'bootleg' version of what is to come from O2... only a guess on my part here...not really sure of it's origin...

Chris
Hi MR2046
What device and what ROM version do you have loaded?
Regards
Chris
Hi cbrow51,
I use O2 XDAIIs
ROM : 1.31.00 WWE
Radio : 1.02.00
Protocal : 1337.32
ExtROM : 1.31.920 WWE
Thanks
2046
Hi MR2046
The option to select corporate mode comes up close to the end of the install after you do the hard reset. You only get about 5 seconds to say 'yes' and then enter the code, before personal mode continues and installs the O2 Active stuff.
I see from your info that you have the older radio ROM (Current 02 version is 1.06) and a different extended ROM (I have 1.31.139WWE)... Not sure if the difference in extended ROM would cause you not to get this option or not...
I would try hardresetting again and see if you get the corp mode option. if you don't, then you might want to download the latest ROM from the O2 web site.
Hope this helps
Chris
Thanks a lot
But the O2 asia website did not update anything. There is only a small patch for BT upgrade.
BTW, which O2 website you meant?
BT sync and internet access
Hi all,
what about Bt sync/internet access? does anyone manage to do it ? i do not use a headset but i am trying for some weeks to get connected to my desktop via BT - with no results... i upgraded to 3900 just today but it did not help .
the manual of the device is not helpful for doing so...
which O2 Website
Hi MR2406
ah! that probably explains it. Sounds like you have the O2 Asia ROM then, correct?
I am using the UK ROM from the UK O2 web site. I am not sure if you would be able to download the UK ROM to your device, which I assume is of Asian origin..? O2 UK state that you should only download their ROM if your device meets certain criteria. Take a look on the site and check compatibility before downloading / installing.
From the very rudimentary understanding that I have from looking through the wiki site, its possible that you might get some kind of country and or operator code errors if you install the UK rom on your device. That said, there are detailed instructions on how to correct these errors also.
If I were you, I would look through all the materials on wiki, check the O2 site in UK and then decide on the best approach.
Hope that helps

spv m2000 - crock of poo

Had my m2000 for just over a week now and what a crock of poo. No volume out of speaker (well documented problem) and bluetooth connection that is turnip (might as well be two bean cans and a bit of string). I can get it paired with my bluetooth (in built in BMW) but every time a call comes in it drops it. Is there a patch for the bluetooth if so where do I get it ??
The other thing that winds me up is that orange UK will not acknowledge the above well documented problems but having mentioned "fit for purpose etc" they are sending me out a replacement and if this does not work I will change the phone completely. I did not change it earlier as I got a brilliant car mount from PDAmods and I will be out of pocket if I change the phone
To sum things up please advise should I ditch the phone and go back to my ipaq 4150 or are there software patches out there --- "somewhere" ????????
just checked rom 1.40
radio 1.06.02
if that helps anyone
FWIW, ROM 1.40 is OK, but I'd advise an upgrade to Radio ROM 1.13 & check if bluetooth version is 3500 or 3900.
I now use 3900 & make sure bluetooth is permanently on. Since then, I have not had the problem with "no Volume"

I've used the 1.13 radio ROM on my Orange M2000 - it worked fine for normal phone calls but GPRS went a bit mad with long, long connect times and frequently wouldn't connect at all. Dropping back to the 1.06.02 ROM put everything right.

Newbie looking for some advice-Bluetooth audio

I have an unbranded SX66, the AT&T version.
Rom info as follows:
Rom: 1.32.10 WWE
Radio: 1.02.10
Protocol: 1337.35
Ext Rom: 1.32.115 WWE
My only real issue is the crackling that occurs with my recently acquired Jabra 250 headset. The audio seems to be ok as long as the phone is close by and in line of site. Even then it can still be crackly though.
I updated the bluetooth stack to 3900 from 3500. I didn't update the radio stack, even though it was suggested. I guess I'm wondering if installing the v1.33 update from Siemens is worth it. Some posts seem to say it is. Others say it's not. There doesn't appear to be much documentation as to what was fixed in the bluetooth stack other than connectivity problems, which I'm not experiencing.
Anyway..any thoughts and/or suggestions are appreciated.
I've found the site informative and helpful.
Thank you.
Never mind...found some other threads on the subject
Appears I can not use this update becuase I have the AT&T varriant of the phone.
Thanks all. Guess I'm stuck with the crackling audio.
If you haven't been there yet, the SX66 Standardization Project has AT&T versions of the most recent ROMs.
I have looked some. It appears that i have no turning back if I move forward with one of those roms, because I have the AT&T version.
Being new to this, I guess I'm slightly paranoid that I will lose my device on a hiccup.
Can't complain then, I suppose.
I'm investigating GPS now with the device to see if there are known issues using a bluetooth receiver with this device.
Thanks again..

Calling All to cook a new ROM for all of us to solve Bluetoo

Hey Guys (esp Buzz)
We all have been waiting for AKU upgrades since eternity. Only German phones appear to have got AKU1.1 upgrade.
So, is it possble(actually sure it is) that take the current ROM (of O2 eg) - add AKU1.1 tidbits(esp the Bluetooth Part) and cook a special ROM?
This will benefit all of us who are unable to use handsfree functinality with cars (WTH - a 50$ cheapo works fine with all the cars I have - and this 1200$ brick fails)
This will be a great favor to all of us drivers out here. We care less for PUSH but do care for proper BT functionality.
I'm just cooking a new ROM fixing the Bluetooth profiles, currently I finished testing the T-Mobile D ROM (1.20.34 GER, with the 1.06.00 radio version, without ExtROM).
Skipping ExtROM in the update is neccessary, because the original T-Mobile ExtROM would delete the Bluetooth profiles that come along with the ROM.
But then, skipping installation of ExtROM means lack of video-telephony and mms fetures.
So, I will cook my own ROM and will see if it works...
BUT: I'm sure not all of us will be satisfied having german ROM/ExtROM.
CU,
Schlangi
No need of MMS or Video Telephony - We cant use it because we need to be millionares to pay the bill later on.
I do have UMTS (but use it to download data only - 10MB for 200$!!!!)- so I hope the GPRS (or data over UMTS) works.
I use the phone mainly for SMS (I hope that I can backup my sms later) and emails + talking while driving among the arab camels.
