ie
There used to be a /Uploads/HTC_Wizard folder
Now /Uploads is empty
Am I going crazy or is it really gone???

Hi all...
Ive found something a bit wierd about my M2000 and im not sure if it is a normal thing... When im copying "folders" from my PDA to my PC my sycronisation connection is lost before the copying completes, it seems to stop about half way or more near the end...but even though it does get half way,all the files that it had copied so far are not even on the PC...
So i have found the only way i can copy stuff from my PDA to my PC is by copying the "files" and not the whole "folder" as i was trying to do...and even that sometimes doesnt work!!!
Is this right??????
Is it a fault on my PDA or my PC??? and how can i fix this????

this isnt meant to happen, try to upgrade to active sync 4, this may solve your problem, as it solves many that people have with there devices, i dont think there is a connection disconnect setting after so long, but you could check that out in both active sync on your pc and pda settings..
i do this a lot and mine never disconnects, only problem i had on the old version, is that sometimes it would disconnect if i didnt use it( or became idle) and it wouldnt reconnect, even if i removed and replaced back in the cradle.
try updating to active sync 4 and post the results...
regarding another thread (jocky, you rule). have any of you tried this with the 620/621/dash? my company uses openvpn and i have loaded the client, made a config file (using jocky's working sample).i have my ca.cert, client.key all mapped right and in the right place .but i cant get the Tap adapter to load (both reg files have been added). just says its available. i have checked my router and there are no packets leaving the phone.
also, i cant trouble shoot it any further because it wont start a log. i have the client.log line in my config and still nothing.
ovpncmgr loads fine, ive even used others working config files and i just cant get the damn tap adapter to work.
maybe it was just too late (2am) for me to even be attempting that...but ill screw around more today. thanks in advance
edit: running 6.1 (v24)
gix
I have not used it.
me neither.... i just stick with logmein to vpn into my desktop PC at work, or at home. but prob not what you're trying to do anyway.
Found a working openvpn for my S620 running WM6.5. In case anyone is looking for it, too,
(Hmm... as a newbie, I can't post an outside link )
Search for openvpn smartphone in the net, you should see near the top: Jim's Random Crap : OpenVPN Smartphone
Hi guy’s
I wondering if some one of you know about a program called "ifile" or something like that
I don’t need to say the name of the phone where roun this software but is not from Microsoft (clear enough right?)
So, I would like to know if there exists the same program for HTC HD or something like it.
I talking about a program that makes possible to transfer files from the pc to the Blackstone BY WLAN and so on so far.
I mean that you just need to write the IP address in your pc at the explorer and that’s it
Thank very much
every addon file explorer like total commander (free) and resco explorer (commercial) have builtin lan support
it works much like windows' "map network drive" function and is very good, i myself i use it alot
you can even use, instead of ip addresses, the network names of the computers or browse through the whole network.
i MIGHT be wrong but it seems to me that even the default winmo file explorer can do such thing provided you install file explorer extensions (search on this forum you will eventually find them out and read about those)
some ideas
Hi. There are some options i can think of from the top of my head.
1
share a folder on your pc, access it from your device with your favorite browser (Total Commander).
2
read in about getting activesync going over wlan
3
mail stuff to your self and check it on your other device
4
try to find a web or ftp server for ppc
5
there might be some remote control software (you know, to control your ppc from pc, or take screensnaps etc) that is able to transfer files. I know there is a lot of remote progs available.
6
There is software available to browse ms networks from ppc, maybe there is some that puts your pcc right in there.
I´ll add more if I think of any.
Use Google.
Have anyone done this? I'm talking about making the phone into a Windows file system server so that you could browse it from your home computer using the \\ip\share -syntax in explorer over WiFi. Wouldn't that be cool? Can it be done?

No, that one uses a web interface. I'd like to browse the file system through explorer (not internet explorer)
MyMobiler has ftp capability, and can run over WiFi

Is there a specific reason to do this?

FTP is useful aswell but the scenario I was thinking of was this: You come to a friend and he has a computer hooked up to the stereo. You want him to listen to a new song you just downloaded to your Win phone. You can just give him the ip+share name and he can browse and play directly from your phone without installing any adittional software.
Actually for this scenario the first tool mentioned in this thread comes closer. But it lacks the possibility for drag-dropping. Say you want to drag 5 songs into a playlist in winamp or something...
I'm thinking simplicty for the user here, and offering something no other phone platform has yet.
So, you would like to find a way to make your phone into a Wireless NAS?
Yeah I guess you could call it that
I'm kind of surprised Resco Explorer 2010 doesn't provide support for this, the Palm OS version has supported SMB for quite a while:

Hi all,
I'll start with what I want to do. Basically I want to be able to access my files on my PC at home from anywhere where I have a network connection, either over 3G or Wifi.
I don't want something like dropbox where I have to sync all my documents/music/videos to dropbox online. That means I have copies on dropbox and on my PC. Plus I am restricted to the space dropbox provides (I think it is 2gb).
I have searched the internet and the market to try and find an app that will help with this but I can't find anything. I don't want to stream anything I simply want to be able to browse my files on my home PC and then copy anything I need from my PC, using my phone, to my phone.
I have heard of Orb but that sounds like it streams the data. Take this scenario... I am in the office and realise I need to show a client a video. I show it streamed from my PC. Someone else comes and wants to see the video but I'm in an area with no data signal, I can't stream! If I could have copied the file to my phone from my PC remotely the 1st time then I wouldn't have that problem.
I hope I've explained this enough. Thanks in advance for any answers, it is much appreciated.
Take a look at this : ES File Explorer
Also take a look at this, too : FileLinx 3G Print or Transfer

I use Windows Home Server to get this functionality. It also gives me automated backup and lots more such as music streaming.
1. set up a ssh/sftp server on your home PC
w w w.digitalmediaminute.com/article/1487/setting-up-a-sftp-server-on-windows
2. use ASTRO, ESfileexplorer, or CIFS manager to mount/access the share remotely. Start by setting up inside your LAN, and makesure it works. Then move to WAN (will probably need to make sure your ISP provides you with a static WAN, and port forward the port the server is using to be able to access it "out in the wild".)
3. access your files whenever you want (as long as PC is on, and server running, and connected to the net)
I have installed Teamviewer on PC and Android version on HTC Desire and Samsung Galaxy Tab, working great.
I have tried to use a bluetooth mouse on Desire during such remote connection, which was a bit funny.
I'm using cifs manager, works perfect for me!
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA Premium App
LogMeIn does that also
