many say dual sims work and many say they dont so whats the final verdict. i have an orange connection and they seem to scam me every month as i said too many text messages. i have just got one of those 300 free text message o2 sims and wanna use both of them togather without having to carry another phone.
i think you will find that your phone is locked to you network. so you won't be able to use the o2 sim.
SORTED!!
for anyone who is scare of doing this ive doen it and it works. i have an orange contract sim card and o2 onlien pay as you go sim card working togather. these sims are both new so this has nothing to do with how new the sim cards are so thats bull.
the adapter i bought was a cheaop chinese one rather than ones people pay £15 pounds for so its dosent matter if you see a cheap one.
the hardest part was cuttiing the sims cos i was scared i would make them useless but there were stickers that helped to outline how to cut them. still i had to cut some of the sim bits as well. works fine. another diffciult bit was getting the stickers off.
dotn worry after you cut them you get a resume card which you can use to make your sim normal again and it all works fine.
im me if you have any questions ill be more than happy to assist as i can...
I bought two adaptors because initially I didn't want to cut the SIMs and I had no idea how they phisically where. Here you can see the photos:
http://pof.eslack.org/blog/2005/05/19/dual-sim/
The first one doesn't fit, so I had to cut the sims and use the second one. It works fine for me. Just turn flight mode on and then off again to switch sims.
FYI I bought them at eBay, really cheap.
Were you able to fit it at the back? Were you able to close back the battery properly. I am worried that the space at the back will not allow such SIM adaptor. Waiting for your reply as I do intend to use another SIMCard if possible.
The one where you don't have to cut the SIMs doesn't fit, so don't buy it.
This one is the one that fits, because its the size of a single SIM card, but contains two SIMs:

the adpater is thicker no doubt. you can push it in though. if you dont wanna get it out every so often theres no problem. if you do then you are going to have a struggle. when you do take it out do it carefully cos you dotn want to break the clip that holds the sim. i havent broken mine but always scared i will.
BUY THE ONE WHERE YOU HAVE TO CLIP THE SIM. SOUNDS SCARY BUT IF I CAN DO IT SO CAN YOU. IM NOT GOOD WITH DELICATE THINGS LIKE THAT AND I MANAGED
forgot to tell you one thing. it does make life simple by not having to swap sims or carry two phones. the hassle is when you have to keep switching the radio off or dooing a soft reset to swap around. someone on this forum suggested a facility where you could use two sims at the same time so you could get netrwork from both. good idea but not possible i thought about it and im not a techie.everytime i go on the tube it swaps netwroks when im underground. that is a hassle but i guess theres good and bad things about everything.
read about the sim programming sim if you can get hold of that get it cos that sounds interesting. i cannotbe bothered as this works fine for me.
Why so confusion...Gaurav...go to any telephone shop and ask for a dual sim adaptor where ever u are in India....the shop man will show u differrent kinds of the adapters...choose one which fits your device ...
I am using the ghost sim,,,china made...in XDA2s very successfully since past 3 months.... 8)
hdubli... im indian but live in teh uk so its bit difficult. i saw them really cheap whilst on holiday last time. round here cannot find shops that seel them cheap so had to get it off ebay. think i got hold of the same one as you but i bet you got it 10 times cheaper than what i paid maybe you can start supplying to people from there. i dunno...
would be nice if there was an accessorties shop of some sort on this forum where people could buy tested items which are guaranteed to work.

Check out this article: Dual Sim Adapter - Is It Any Good?
It's about my personal experience with a twin sim ghost adapter and might contain information you consider useful.
Ghost Dual SIM
I bought a Php500 (around USD9) Ghost Dual SIM Adaptor.
It works flawlessly switching between my main Globe SIM Card and my secondary 24/7 Sun Cellular SIM.
Switching is done thru Flight Mode ON/OFF. Losing signal like passing thru basement parking and elevators does not switch SIMS.
As bonus, the local mobile phone accessory stores here in Philippines have their own puncher so trimming the SIM card is not a problem. They do it for free.

thats the same one which i had, it broke after about the 5th time i took it out
With that information, I will never remove this Dual SIM Adaptor until it is really necessary and unavoidable.
Actually, I installed mine in the store where I bought it. The first two adaptors were defective. Of course, I didnt pay for it. I expected high defects rate of these SIM Adaptors as they really look cheap construction-wise.
Multi SIM - SIM MAX - changing phone number by STK
HIIII! I'm from Portugal and i have bought a SIM MAX ( http://www.sim-max.com/ ), i´ve programed 2 of the 12 numbers that the card supports. In my Alcatel mobile phone it works, but in my Qtek 9090 only works with the 1th number, i can't change between numbers or networks....
Can any one program the Radio version to make it possible, in my alcatel, in STK menu e see the SIM options and i can change between the 12 numbers, but in my Qtek 9090 i can´t see the STK options...
Qtek 9090
Rom Version: 1.40.00 WWE
Rom date: 03/10/05
Radio version: 1.12.00
Protocol version: 1337.42
ExtRom version: 1.40.147 WWE
Be CAREFUL
while inserting the dual sim "container".
Not only is the cintainer "fragile", the QTEK ALSO.
I bought a dual and, while trying to insert it, I broke one of the two "metal clamps" that hold it on the sides.
Happily I can still fit the dual sim inside and, by pushing the battery on it, it stands still... and works....
However: since then the QTEK does not "feel" the backup battery anymore.
on every reset I get the "low backup battery msg" and indeed if I look at the battery level in settings a nice 0% is shown.
Annoying but at least I did not broke it altogether.
So: be careful and if someone has some clue on how to repair let me know.
Ciao
Hi all,
this is my first posting here.
I have recently bought an unlocked TMobile MDA II off of ebay. The phone arrived and I thought if I insert my Rogers sim card it should work. Proven to be wrong, after inserting the simcard, whatever I do, it would not register with network. It shows me "No Service". If I run sim manager application, it shows me all the contacts information stored in it. Called few telephone techies, and they all said, it may not be an locking issue. Some thing else. One suggested that it could be radio band issue. T Mobile 1800 vs
Rogers 900/1800. Dont know what to check, or what to do. Would appreciate if some one could help.
Thanks
Pat
I know this is probably going to turn out to be a bit of a silly question, but is there any way to have a dual SIM holder installed in the phone, but have it either have both active at all times, or have it auto-switch when there is activity on one of the SIM's?
I have a work phone (which is some bottom-end Nokia junk) and my own personal phone, soon to be a XDA Orbit, and I would like to combine the two into the Orbit.
The trouble is, I need to have the work phone on during business hours, but I still don't want to miss personal calls or texts on my own mobile.

Not a silly question, i want it 2 if it would be possible.
U need a phone with 2 phoneprocessors (2 networks need 2 be monitored). The artemis has only 1 phone processor, so it isnt possible. I have heard the are not very well known chines phones (no pda function) with have these availabilities. You then also have 2 slots for simcards.
While searching Google for Dual SIM mods for Artemis, I came across a Japanese phone which was Triband, had Bluetooth, GPRS and a MiniSD slot which had two SIM slots and could connect to both networks at once.
It looked rubbish, and used a rip off Sony Ericsson interface system by the looks of it, but it was touch screen.

Yups, those i meant.
CECT produces dual SIM pdas but they have only fake Windows Mobile, I have seen one picture where it seems to have it and I think that claim it has WM5, but I doubt it. Even it one of them has it, it looks so ugly I would never buy it!
I have a dual SIM adapter in my Artemis, it worked correctly only with the original HTC WM5 and with B&B v4.1 - the O2 WM6 has the wrong drivers. But with this dual SIM adapter I can't receive two calls at the same time from two different SIM cards, one is always inactive. The only thing I could thing of is call divertion from the other cards as long as you are on the other SIM cars, but you would have to pay for that if you don't have a flatrate or free minutes.
I didn't think of setting up a call divert on the second SIM.
It may be a good idea, as if someone texts me on the 2nd SIM, it can't be that important.
What do you mean the O2 WM6 ROM has the wrong drivers? I'm getting the XDA Orbit on O2 shortly, and will probably be flashing with the O2 WM6 ROM as I don't want to go farting about with cooked ROM's at least until I've had it a while.
If you are planning on using a dual sim adapter in your xda then it won't show you correctly which provider you are using.
I have Vodafone and T-Mobile and used to have the German O2 ROM on my HTC P3300 (because they had WM6 first). I had WM5 from HTC before that and used SPB Mobile Shell. Only one of the SIM cards was active at a time.
When I switched on my phone SPB Mobile Shell would show me which provider I was using. With the WM6 update from O2 it would only show me the same provider even if I switched to the other card. The provider info was updated only after a reset which would switch from one to the other card anyways. I was able to get the information about the SIM card through a network request ( checked what my mailbox number was).
In B&B 4.1 is a newer WM6 core version, I think it's from the HTC Kaiser or Touch. Now it shows me correctly in battery status or any other software which SIM card I am using.
If you don't plan on using any dual SIM adapters you can buy whatever device you want. If you buy one I'd recommend you to buy an analog adapter instead of a digital adapter because they consume a lot less power. If you really wanna buy one ask me about it.
Hello I want to buy one dual sim adapter for my artemis.
I've got WM6 with B&B 5's rom.
My cards are from Vodafone and Movistar (I don't know if it cares).
Where can I find one?
Thanks

I have not tried it yet, but perhaps an adapter similar to this one might address your needs:

HKC...
There is a PDA WM6 phone with 2 sim slots and runs both sims at the same time..
Its called the HKC W1000
No... Not HTC... but HKC
youtube/google/yahoo it...
It only goes and bloody works.
Downside=200hz chippy whippy...and low ram... but it is def a start....
Hope that helps....
I am going to be trying those two items, basicly they do the same thing,well... almost, but in a diferent way!
Ofcourse they don't have both sims active.
Those patents are ascosiated with some phones better (they create an extra menu so that you can change sims without turning on and off your phone)
ButWith WM phones i don't think this could happen, i am almost certen that you have to restart yout phone!

Hi all. I bought a used SX66 without a SIM card. It works great but I want to be able to use it as a phone, email, internet, etc. It is still locked to the Cingular/AT&T network, which is fine. I have a current AT&T account with a Treo 750. But when I put that SIM card in the SX66 it doesn't work. Is that because of the newer 3G SIM card? Everytime I ask the knuckleheads at the retail stores I get a different answer...variations on "yes, you can do it" to "it's not possible with that old phone".
So is it possible to resurrect this as a phone? And if so, do I have to get my hands on an old non-3G SIM? And then how do I get my account/phone # info on that SIM? Ugh.
Thanks.
I put in my new 3G sim and it worked fine. I had some trouble with it not recognizing it, but it turned out it was just a little loose inside the SIM holder. Im not sure why your BA doesn't like the SIM.
Go to the Mall to buy one!
Dear all
I bought a phone which is SHARP SOFTBANK SH934 from Japan. The problem is when i bring back to my country - Malaysia. I notice that this phone cannot detect the network right after i changed to the local SIM card.
I have search through the websites and videos. Most of them are use another sim card with a chip on it that you attach to your GSM sim card and insert into the phone. It's called either a 'Hypersim' or a 'Turbosim'. But this thing is costly.
Does anyone know the another way to settle this problem?
Very much appreciate!!
does anyone know?
hope to get help deeply..
