Problems pairing with GPS - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Hi,
I had an old ROM release on my Qtek 9090 and with it my GPS Bluetooth device worked fine.
Yesterday I got myself a Parrot EasyDrive and it would not connect to my Qtek 9090. It would however work fine with my 2 Nokias.
So I decided to finally (after one year) upgrade my Qtek and I used the 1.42 ROM from this site.
No the Parrot EasyDrive works fine, but my GPS receiver has this annoying problem: whenever I want to use the GPS receiver, the pairing window opens up, asking for the passkey (1234). The problem is, that it won't keep it, no matter what I do.
I tried to remove the GPS-Device in the Bluetooth manager and I deleted the pairing partnership. Then I made a new connection with pairing, etc.
After turning Bluetooth off, the pairing information is lost.
Meanwhile, the Parrot Easy Drive carkit works fine.
Any suggestions?
Cheers,
vma

Well, I ended up solving the problem myself...
While messing with the registry to remove the operator branded dialpad of the new ROM I installed, I managed to mess up my Qtek 9090 and lost the screen alignment. Because of that, I could not access the lower part of the screen anymore, thus it became impossible to realign the screen.
As stupid as it might seem, I had to do a hardreset at end, otherwise the device was useless (Side-question: is there any shortcut to get the screen alignment for the Blue Angel?).
After doing the hardreset and after re-installing all applications again, I paired both the carkit and the GPS receiver without problems.
It seems that if the pairing goes wrong the first time, one has problems afterwards. Would be nice to know how to really reset all connections without having to do a hardreset.
For all of you that went through the pain of reading my two posts:
I purchased an Parrot EasyDrive carkit, which was on sale for 35 Euro. It is a device that plugs into the carlighter and that has voice recognition.
I then passed new cables for Ground and 12V from the lighter to under the steering wheel and attached them to the speaker part of the carkit.
The result is a proper Bluetooth carkit with voice recognition (you say "telephone" and then the name and the carkit dials the number on the phone - all contacts have to be send one by one from the phone's contact list through Bluetooth and then you train the name twice - memory holds 200 contacts), where you just see the little knob with the two buttons - for just 35 Euro!
I say, that's an excellent deal!
Cheers,
vma

Streaming audio to car stereo via bluetooth?

Hi, I'm a first time poster and I'm on the verge of pulling my hair out.
I have an SPV M600 and have just bought a Pioneer DEH P75BT car stereo because of its bluetooth capabilities.
It has two bluetooth modes: Telephone and BT Audio. After a lot of playing around I have managed to get both modes working together....ish!!!
I've installed the A2DP hack from this site enabling the streaming audio which actually sounds fantastic through the car speakers.
The problem is that to get the BT Audio to work I have to delete and repair the phone with the stereo every time I get in the car. This involves the following actions:
Open Comm Manager
Tap settings
Tap bluetooth settings
Tap devices
Tap and hold the Pioneer BT unit
Tap delete
Tap yes to confirm deletion
Tap new partnership
Wait for scanning to complete
Tap the Pioneer BT unit
Tap next
Enter passkey (four taps)
Tap next
Tap finish
As you can imagine, this process is a real pain in the backside every time I get in the car so my question is this.
Can the above actions be automated in just one command? If so how? (bearing in mind I do not really know how to write scripts)
If someone could even point me in the direction of learning to write a script for this I would be grateful. I have downloaded and installed MortScript but I don't really know what I'm doing with it.
Why when you tap and hold the device doesn't the "set as wireless stereo" command work the same as when the stereo and phone are newly paired? Surely it's the same command.
Any help would be gratefully received.
Can't help you except to say that I experienced the same with a pioneer BT radio too. My soolution was to return it to the store and buy myself a parrot BT car kit which works just fine...

Luckily I don't give up this easily. I have played around with and taught myself the basics of mortscript and have managed to write myself a script that does all of the above in one command. It's not quite perfect yet but it does mean that I can get in my car and start driving whilst the phone is busy pairing itself with the stereo.
The problems I am having so far are as follows:
I have to soft reset the phone each time before pairing with the stereo, otherwise the audio only seems to be transmitted to the front left speaker in my car, which is a bit strange.
I am forcing mortscript to try to pair with the first device in the list of detected devices, which is fine if there's no-one alse with a bluetooth device in the vicinity but not if there is and it detects theirs before mine.
Does anyone know if I could get mortscript to select a detected device by it's name "Pioneer BT unit" rather than selecting the device by simulating a tap on the screen? Also, if the device called "Pioneer BT unit" is not found the first time, scan for bluetooth devices again.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Hello I had the same problem: erase, new, etc.
but i have discovered one thing: you must only change de name in the bt description of your hands free

I was just about to point this fella in your direction ...
You'd have to do an indefinite loop while checking a registry value to see if your stereo was found. There is a key, i'm sure, for a list of found devices but I don't know where that is. As for detecting your car stereo as the one to pair with; depends on what keys are saved, sounds like it may just be possible.
I'll have a look into this as I'd like to get this stereo also if it can connect & stream automatically
If returning it is still an option, I'd get the Sony Bluetooth Audio headunit. Works great for listening to audio from your phone. It pairs it automatically. I also use Jawbone headset for talking on the phone. It kicks off the stereo and goes to the headset when a call comes in.
The built in mic is in the headunit and in my loud car, its subpar in quality. Whicj is why I use the excellent Jawbone.
I personally own a Peekton 950 car stereo and it works great with my wm5 (a2dp enabled) and my new WM6. the only thing that it does not do is autodiscover and connect the A2DP while it does it for the headset profile.
one other thing I would enjoy is to have the idtag displayed while getting the A2dp but I guess this is not part of the spec.
As I wrote in this topic, I guess the A2DP profile has two way of linking.
1°) The "headset" way : a bluetooth A2DP headset initiates communication to the music player/WM device.
2°) The "passive" way : The speaker just waits for a known bluetooth audio player to connect/link to it.
What surprises me is the fact you need to unpair-repair your device everytime : have you tried what I explain in the previous topic : just go to bluetooth devices , long tap on your spearker's name and choose "use as bluetooth speaker" (may not be exact name of the option since I've a French phone ).
On my phone, this simple (but annoying enough) action connects my phone to my bluetooth speaker (not an in-car one).
Hope this helps
PS : If you find any way to script/automatize the connection or any app more convenient than opeining the bluetooth setting, I'd be very pleased to be informed
This probably wont help the OP's problem, but for the rest, this freeware is brilliant, and can be automated using command line switches to work via mapped keys.

Surur
Many thanks for this piece of software Susur. I tried it, but I didn't manage to use it to initiate connection to my bluetooth a2dp speaker.
It's a very usefull software when your device is connected to an A2DP speaker/headphone.
There is a DIY option bluetooth headset acting as audio receiver.

try to pair 2 bluetooth hands-free devices on one phone

Hello at all,
I've searched a long time for a solution, but I really couldn't find it.
I have an
- Ameo (same like HTC x7500, with original t-mobile WM6 german) and a
- LG Style-i HBM 700 - http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CZICHA , for calling.
I had bought a couple of weeks ago a wunderful bluetooth bracelet LM 959. http://www.lm-technologies.com/ci/index.php?/products/details/38
Both, the bracelet and the Style-i want and could connect to my Ameo over the same profile (phone profile, hands-free).
I've tried a couple of days, but it doesn't run as I want:
I want that the bracelet will shake when the phone is ringing (that's normal).
And then I will accept the call with my LG Style-i. If the call finish, all should go again in stand by.
If the next call arrive, the bracelet have to shake first, and so on.
But reality is hard and bad:
If I power on the bracelet, and power on the LG iStyle the bracelet go in sleep and the LG Style-i is active connect to my Ameo. No action's could make the bracelet function, only if I power off the LG Style-i. But than I couldn't take a call (not with this brick on my ear)
I think both are using the same profile (hands-free). And only one could go in active, or ?
Is there a way to let both function, and as I want ?
I would be lucky for any suggestions.. any idea ?
I'm afraid I can't answer that with any experience, but I think the bluesoleil driver will allow connections to two devices.
When someone with more experience comes along, does anyone know if it is possible to connect two devices with different profiles.
I wish to connect my car kit (HFP) and an audio streaming connection (A2DP), to a kaiser, and keep them both connected.
ping, I want infor on this to for my ameo before I buy the bracelet!!
new status:
I've seen, that all entries in the registry between the braclet and the LG style-i are different. Not the channel entry : both are channel 0x2.
I've changed the channel from bracelet in the registry:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Bluetooth/Device/001b3500023b
from 0x2 to 0x1.
Bracelet connect with Ameo furthermore, but situation doesn't changed.
Now I will change the ROM from 6 to 6.1 (from original t-mobile 6 to sogarth 6.1) this weekend.
let me see ...
bad story ... sorry.
I've changed the ROM from original t-mob WM6 to sogarth WM 6.1 ROM but without any changes.
I've no solution to connect the bluetoorh bracelet AND the Bluetooth headset at the same time.
Any other idea's ?
please help ...
Not possible afaik. I personally tried it when I had two Motorola s9s and only one would connect at the same time :S.
Does anyone know if you can connect to *different* profile devices?
I want to connect a HFP device and an AD2P device.

Hello all,
I'm currently using wm6.1 build 20273.1.3.3 cook (FInixNOver v3.6) on my Trinity with iDream BTSH01 + Nokia BH-102.
The BTSH01 can act as either "Hands Free" or/and "Wireless Stereo" (A2DP).
I can select which mode I want to use on that device by using the standard "Bluetooth Settings-->Device" menu.
The BH-102 is only an "Hands Free" device.
I successfully can listen music on the iDream and make/receive calls with the Nokia.
As you may guess, my main use of these combination is on the car! the Trinity is used as my MP3 player, my GPS and my phone with ear bud, while its battery is being charged.
The BH-102 works very smooth alone! just need to power it on, wait 2-3 seconds to ear the beep and start to use it, even while receiving a call (it happens a lot while I'm driving!).
That particular cook has the BT sound volume adjustment working very well!
The BTSH01 is tricky to pair... I always have to start it in "pairing" mode and do a BT search on the Trinity (I have a button on the "Today" for that!) to have it work properly. If I not do this way, the music is shopped in 500ms pieces !!!
I can only launch the music/sound app (Mortplayer and/or GPS app) after pairing it. If not, the sound goes out through the internal speaker.
By having the BTSH01 decoding music, the HTC becomes slower (still ok for the GPS app)!
Now, combining both... I'm using both since a couple of days and I still have no procedure to have both running ok (BTSH01 as "Wireless Stereo" and BH-102 as "Hands Free") at first shot!
Sometimes the BTSH01 start to decode my calls, sometimes the BH-102 is not able to pair ... it's always been asked the PIN code.
But, once both are up, I have no more troubles and can start my trip!
i'm using an r35 itech set as handsfree...although it can be switched to include a2dp. however, i also have a sony ericsson car kit that's set for a2dp or wireless stereo. thus, when i'm in the car my u1000 automatically connects to the ericsson and thus streams the music. any calls that come i can answer through my r35. when i leave the car, the ericsson then disconnects with my u1000 (either through range or when i shut off the ignition). my r35 is continuously bonded and thus any calls are answered through it.
i don't think it's really possible to connect 2 bt devices with hands free profiles at the same time. i tried that with both my r35 and ericsson kit....if the first device bonded is my r35 a message appears on my ameo indicating an error when i try to set hands free. it only accepts wireless stereo.
cheers
I don't think so. In my opinion it's not possible. u can use stereo.

Bluetooth headgear disconnect mid-call

Sorry if I'm posting a question that's been answerred before, but I haven't been able to find a thread to this problem:
sometimes my Nokia BH-102 will disconnect in the middle of a conversation in the car. The only option at that time is to pull the TP2 from it's holder and put it to my ear.
Whether it's the headset or the phone, I don't know, but it used to work in combo with the old Nokia E60 I used to operate......
Chances are it's the TP2, but how to fix it?
Only 'tweak' was to install tomtom, but without the 2 dll's which have been causing some problems.
Has anybody experienced anything similar?
Bluetooth visor problem
I have had problems with my headset - Supertooth Visor One Bluetooth Car Kit. Not quite the same as you though - the problems I have is that when I make an outgoing call, everything works fine but when I recieve an incoming call the audio stays on the handset rather than coming out of the bluetooth headset - which means I have to pick up the phone. I also have installed TomTom 7 and I had to do the 2 dll fix as my bluetooth was completely broken otherwise. So I guess maybe TT7 is responsible in some way. Only thing is, I dont want to do a hard reset to find out!!
I'd already read about the Tomtom BT-issue so I cleared the 2 dll's out of the cab prior to installation.
So the originals should still be in use. BT is/was working and I have been synching using BT. That's not the problem.
There should be threads out here pointing you to the original dll's. you could past them over the current ones and see if it helps.
I experiencing the same problem, and didn´t install tomtom.
So now it looks like it's a problem in the TP2 then.
Hopefully a BT-guru can investigate? This is way beyond my capabilities.
In the meantime I'll know what to do if and when it happens: take a chance on the cops seeing it and issuing a ticket.....
I'm having a similar issue, my headsets plural, have this problem. It will disconnect but what is happening is the headset is shutting down. If I hold the power button on the headset it comes back on and will work again.
If it was one headset I would think it is faulty but I've had this problem with three headsets and the Bluetooth in my car.
Is it possible that the phone is sending a shutdown command? BTW I am using the stock TMOUS 6,5 ROM and have tried some of the cooked ROMS with the same effect.

Dueling Bluetooths

I have a 2005 Acura with bluetooth phone. My girlfriend and I both have pairing to it, she has an old Sprint A920, I have a Tmobile TP2. If we get into the car around the same time, her phone always wins! Of course the ideal solution would be if the car had a function to prioritize who gets bluetooth (if it connects hers, then sees mine, to disconnect hers and connect mine), but alas, nothing like that. I assume the car is polling for a bluetooth and picks the first one it finds. It doesn't seem related to who it paired last, or who made a call last, and we tried unpairing both then pairing mine first or hers first.
So, other than her turning off bluetooth (a pain on her phone) whenever we get back to the car, is there any solution to get it to like me more? Is the problem in the speed the TP2 connects? Any way to speed that up with the stock ROM.
And while I'm here anyway, many thanks to all the amazing people in the XDA community.

I've found that my Windows Mobile devices are slower to pair with Bluetooth headsets/car kits than the older dumbphones I've had (mostly Motorolas).
A partial solution to the problem with the Acura HandsFreeLink, if it pairs to her phone first, is to press the HFL button on the steering wheel and say "Next Phone". It will unlink her phone and link to your phone. That way you can keep both phones paired to the car if needed and still use your phone if the car happens to link with hers first.

Awesome solution, TYVM! Funny, I think I remember help telling me that command but never thought that was what it did Now I just have to find a way to say 'next phone' without my g/f hearing me

bluetooth paring problems WM6.5

Yesterdaty I updated to WM6.5 and now try to get everything working again. Somehow my TP2 won't pair with my bluetooth carkit anymore. With WM6.1 this was no problem. The phone still pairs perfectly with my computer (also bluetooth connection) so I think the bluetooth connection is ok.
When parining to my carkit it finds the device, then I have to enter a password on the TP2, and after that it just sais "pairing connection failed", and it will not work. I am sure the password is not changed since yesterday. I tried it several times. I do not know what to do anymore. Could this be a setting somewhere? I get the feeling my password is not send properly but have no idea.
Meanwhile I tried pairing my carkit with another phone and no problems there. So my conclusion is: something has changed with bluetooth, updating to WM6.5 which makes it now impossible to pair my TP2 with my carkit.
Is there maybe a programm for the TP2 which give me more controll over bluetooth (like maybe go to an older standard)?
I have exactly the same problem as you
good to hear I am not the only one. Hope someone will come up with a solution for this.
I did nor observed any issues when pairing my TP2 after reflashing to WM6.5
There is another issue however - I can not hear any voice until it is charging.
Unplugging of the charger fixes this issue immediately. Horrible...
Seems, HTC guys are saving money on testing by using us as Beta Customers.
Would a custom ROM be a solution for us?
I updated to the "energy 6.5.1 rom" and guess what..............
The same problem. The rom is very nice, but my TP2 still won't pair with my BT carkit which is very big problem for me.
Is there maybe a way to downgrade just the BT part of a rom to WM6.1. I read on different forums there is something that is called a BT stack. Could this be the problem?
I have a ton of problems with bluetooth pairing now. However, I don't know whether it's the fault of 6.5 or the Tilt 2. Here is what I am experiencing...
- On car deck or headphones, the skip buttons don't do anything
- on car deck or headphones, I have to disconnect Stereo Audio and then reconnect to actually get sound. It NEVER works when it auto connects.
- Music will do a brief skip when you shut the screen off
- Stupid message about volume control every time it connects (resolved by switching to custom rom)
- SMS or any kind of alert tone now turns music way down so that the tone is the only thing you hear. Which is super awesome when I'm driving my drunk friends around and they are singing along to a song when suddenly it mutes so everyone can hear my incoming text message.
Not a single one of these issues existed when I had my Fuze.

No I do not think so, because I used the official WM6.5 with the same problem. Does someone know a way around this issue. I strongly believe that if only I could pair I have some options to work with it (in 6.1 it worked like a charm). If I only could pair without having to send the passkey it would be great step forward. I presume with sending the passkey, the bluetooth of the TP2 sends out other "rubbish" that confuses my carkit.
My problem is solved and guess what, it had nothing to do with my TP2. The problem was my carkit. It has a maximum number of bluetooth devices (5) it can pair to and the last one (the WM6.1 version of my phone) had been reached. So a hard reset on the bluetooth carkit and the problem was solved.
Well, at least I now know how to flash a rom to my phone and I think I learned more about the phone reading through all the forums. Thanks all for thinking with me on this problem!
Does anyone else still have this problem?? I have removed all the devices from my car and continue to have the same pairing error just after entering the passcode. Stock Spint ROM worked great, but multiple 6.5 upgrades don"t pair..............suggestions/ideas??????
bluetooth settings, advanced, enable beam data exchange, check the box
Interesting.....I actually found a fix. Instead of pairing the phone with the car, I paired the car with the phone. I didn't even know that this was possible, but it did the trick!
