I have a qtek 9090. Does anyone know the mms & gprs settings for Vodafone Ireland pay as you go (cab File would be great!!!)
www.boards.ie has the info in their computers/mobiles section. no cab file, and vodafone ISP only available to pay monthly customers

Hi all,
I've checked out the forums but can't find a direct answer to this, and I'm sorry if it has been discussed before.
I bought an XDAII whilst I was in Malaysia, and now having returned to the UK I find that GPRS and various other phone components won't work correctly (I have checked the settings and just can't enter all of the correct settings provided by my service provider Vodafone).
My questions are:
1. Does anyone know how to correctly set the GPRS settings for a UK network on an XDA from the far east?
2. Would applying a UK XDA software upgrade solve the issue or are there differences in the hardware in different parts of the world.
3. Can the UK upgrade be succesfully applied to an Asian XDA, or will it (as I fear) render the phone useless?
Many thanks for the help.
Rory
Yes you can do that , I already have XDAII from Malaysia and i upgrade it to O2 UK ROM the new ver.

Thanks 'pqft'.
Do you have any problems connecting to GPRS for email and MMS? I am with Vodafone, and can connect for internet exploring, but cannot send or receive emails, no MMS messages. Any ideas?
Thanks
Rory
did you put in all the settings for pop3
and for mms ?
I have a malaysian vers too,and MMS and Email work perfectly with my Italian provider...but i'm unable to upgrade my phone with the O2uk new rom, i get a COUNTRY ERROR CODE.
Any hint?
Now that it is easier to unlock these could anyone please tell me the vodafone gprs settings that they have found to work. Vodafone themselves only offer settings for the XDA and will not officially support the phone.
Thanks
p.s. for a contract phone UK not a pay as you go.
Here's what I got to work:
GPRS - using My ISP Setting:
Cellular Line
AP name - internet
User/Password: web/web
In advanced set the servers and DNS to auto.
Voicemail:
121
SMS Centre Number:
+447785016005
MMS:
Server name: vodafone
Gateway: 212.183.137.12
Port: 9201
Server address: http://mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
Hope that help - and if anyone knows that any of the above are incorrect pllease let me know as I trawled the forum and various private web sites for them....
Cheers - Rich
Thanks I will try that, although I was told to use for GPRS 'Cellular Line GPRS' but will try your settings first.
Yeah - you are right - me trying to type too fast
R
or if you are lazy like me just run this cab file on your 2s
applecom - this cab installs all the correct settings just like that????
FANTASTIC!!
R
thats it no effort install thats what i like.
i do have more of them for different networks, and different settings for contract or pre-pay. (thats if they are different)
John
Cool...
Can you confirm that the settings I have above are correct then.. Does your cab do everything - mms, gprs, sms etc etc?
R
sms.. message centre number should be in the sim and is not part of the cabs
it will set the GPRS up and a seperate MMS AP if needed (again depending on the network)
these are not cab files i have made they are from imate and for the PDA2k
i use them all the time for XDA, XDA2 XDA2s/i etc etc
John

Hi Applecom
I am looking for Virgin & Vodafone PAYG settings please. Could you tell us where you got them from?
Thanks in advance
They come from the club imate site..
John
Hi John,
Thank you very much for answering so quickly. Could I ask one more favour. I have a friend who has the SPV C500 and is looking for the Virgin setting for his phone? I am not sure if I should give the file you gave me to him or if he requires another file specific to the phone?
Appreciate you help.
i would think the best thing is for you to install the virgin cab on your xda then look at the conections it makes, then use this info to set up the c500, then just run the voda cab on your xda to put it back to how you wont it
John
Sorry is is possible to get the Orange PAYG settings?
Thanks in advance. Will not trouble you with anymore.
Cheers

Once again John, thank you very much for your kind help.
I work for a company that is based out of the US and which has the Blackberry Enterprise Server installed.
I am based out of India where Airtel provides Blackberry service to customers in India. Airtel also provides GPRS service. I have called Airtel and they have indicated that they do not have the option of providing me with a cab file to install on my O2 XDA IIs.
My questions:
- Where can I find a Blackberry CAB file to install on my O2 XDA IIs?
- Given that Airtel does not explicitly support Blackberry on an O2 XDA IIs, would it work if I was able to find this cab file and install it on my O2, with only GPRS access from Airtel or does Airtel need to do something that "fakes" them into believing that my O2 is a "Blackberry device"?
- Does my O2 need to be registered with Airtel or does it only need to be registered with my company in the US and GPRS access locally is all I need? If it needs to be registered, what number do I need to give to them?
- I travel extensively throughout Southeast Asia; in any country I go, for the Blackberry to work on my O2, does the local service provider need to have access to Blackberry services or just GPRS is all they need?
Thanks in advance!
- S
Hi guys,
this is for all who are never tired of flashing a new ROM every day!!
Simply copy the CAB to your storage card and install.
The attached CAB file sets up your WM6 based Hermes for Vodafone Germany with the following:
Connection Settings for Vodafone Live!
Connection Settings for Vodafone WEB
Connection Settings for MMS
Fully configures the MMS Application for send/recieve messages
Enables Vodafone Live! Portal
Enables Vodafone Mobile TV!
The only things that has to be done manually are:
In Settings->Connections->Avanced->Select Networks:
"Programs that automatically connect to the Internet..." -> Select Vodafone WEB
"....that automatically connect to private Network..." -> Select Vodafone Live!
In Streamin Media Application in Options Menu:
Select "Vodafone Live!" out of the Connect Via combo box!
Enjoy your full Vodafone.de enabled WM6 Hermes.
Tested with:
Schaps 3.54c WWE (includes ArcSoft MMSComposer 4.2.8.1)
MRH 8.4 Sun Shower WM6.1

Its a cab for the German Vodafone network, so no, it wont work on the UK network without the info being changed.
What modification need to be done to make it suitable for Vodafone United Kindom?

Basically you would just want to make a new cab that contains the setting for the UK network.
There is LOADS of operator cabs somewhere, let me try to find them again, been a long time.
Edit:
Here we go, Vodafone UK:

Lots of other operator cabs:

great work hype2k! it was boring to config this settings after flashing my htc s710 each time. the cab works great. the only thing i had to setup was a favourite in the ie to access to the live portal.
Hi, I have an orange spv m2000 which has been unlocked to work on any network. I currently have an O2 payg sim in it but im having difficulty setting up the gprs wap and mms settings. Does anyone have an idea how to do this?
