Probably a very basic question.... but does anyone know what i should do, my mum is giving me her XDA2 I in a swap for my razr, but my razr is on fresh (a carphone warehouse own tarrif) these cards usually work in anything but fro some reason when i put it in my mums phone it says
"Network is locked, please input unlock code"
i was just wondering what i should do, any help would be great, and my mum has had other peoples sims in her phone before from different providers working fine.

Can anyone help me??? I have a problem with this device. I bought it in the USA and when I tried to connect it to a network here in Guatemal, they say that the phone is block by T-mobile from de USA. An the other thing is that I talk to T mobile USA to see if the can give me the code to unlock the phone, and they say that I have to sign in with them at least 6 months so I can use the phone??
Any one knows how to unlock the phone???

Your phone is locked to tmobile and will only accept a tmobile SIM. Yes you need an unlock code.
Check ebay.com there is one guy on there who says he can get unlock codes. I have not experience with him but if you read his feedback it seems like he can get them????
Good luck, not saying to go this way but right now your ipaq is useless and this is the only way I know of to unlock it.

My girlfriend came back from Japan a few months ago and while she was there she bought a cell phone. This is partially my fault since I told her that if it had a SIM it could be unlocked and used in the US. Mostly true, right?
The problem is she went and bought a brand new phone that was recently released in Japan and I cant find a way to unlock it.
Does anyone know how to unlock this phone? Is there something specific I could use for SonyEricsson or is there a general unlock?
Its branded NTTDoCoMo FOMA. Its a sick phone, I just wish she could use it here.

OK when she got the phone did she ask for it to be enabled for roaming?
Have you asked the provider to unlock the phone for you?
The provider will ususally do one or the other.
If you are looking for a software solution you've come to the wrong place.
Its a Quad Band phone so it should work here. I'm not sure I understand why it would have to be roaming enabled. We dont want to roam, that would be expensive; we want to unlock it and use it with T-mobile.
Japanese providers will not assist you in any way to unlock a phone, its almost taboo to ask. When I was in Japan I asked how I could use a GSM Quad Band in the US and all they would say is it cant be done. Untrue because I know people who have Japanese phones in the US.
I'm not looking for a software solution, but if anyone knows where I could find software that might help that would be cool. I'm just wondering if anyone knows how to unlock this phone or knows how to unlock any SonyEricsson as it might be similar.
And are you asking if Sony is using Windows Mobile? If so, no they aren't. Are these forums only for WM?

Upon further research I answered my own question.
It's actually not a GSM phone as I initially thought. Its a CDMA phone that uses a UIM card that is identical to a SIM card.

This is a GSM phone u can find IMEI number INa CDMA set u get ESN number not IMEI this phone is a GSM brand phone working on some other frequency. This can be unlocked using T-Sim but can't get network in your country.
Hey guys I know this is EXTREMELY off topic for the kind of phones discussed on these forums but I have a hopefully simple problem.
My fiance fell in love with this stupid little prepaid C261 tracfone that I had when I was younger and she wants to use it really bad. The only problem is she has T-Mobile and this little phone is sim-locked.
This phone has no usb or serial port on it but when I put a T-Mobile sim card in it, it asks me for a subsidy code. Can anyone here help me find the subsidy code for this phone so I give it to her?
The IMEI is: 010911001918594 if that can help at all.

Hey guys, I just got an HTC S630 (HTC branded) sim-locked to Vodafone Egypt and I wanted to know, will www.x02ht-unlock.com be able to unlock it to use on other carriers? or does it ONLY unlock the SOFTBANK models?
Also, The site says that they will send you a file for your IMEI, do they send this file right away or does it take a few days like all the other sites say their codes will take 3-7 days to get to me?
And last question, if I run this program will it unlock it right away away and allow me to keep the same rom? I see a lot of people saying that it unlocked it but they had to install a new rom because their current rom would not work after running www.x02ht-unlock.com

Why don't you write to www.x02ht-unlock.com and ask them if they can unlock you device?

you misunderstand. www.x02ht-unlock.com is fake-site. many japanese x02ht users were cheated by this site. the patch they provided does not unlock simlock perfectly. only one way is after adopting their patch, you must exchange to test version of softbank rom. dont believe what they say.

Yes, that is definitely a possibility but I wanted to get the answer from actual customers like myself who may have tried it. Maybe I am jaded but my experience is that many companies will offer big big promises, only to fall short. I wanted to save myself the hassle and to speak to people who may have had good or bad experiences before I take the dive.

Quick question. I am in Australia and bought a LGU+ (LMF100N) from Korea. The phone cannot detect any SIM and I cannot have access to the TEST FIELD menu, I have tried all compatible ROM, still impossible to activate DATA, add APN or have a SIM detected. Do you think it is software or hardware?
Please note that that it is not a DEMO LG Wing and it is unlocked. I have a 'NO USIM DETCTED' message so it is not even ask for a unlock code etc.
I have tried everything with no success.

I have seen quit a few LG Wings on Ebay with the sim slot being bad so it wouldn't surprise me.The good thing is,it pops in and out once you pull the back off.No soldering required!
@surgemanx sorry for the long delay mate but you were totally right. My problem was indeed the sim slot, I think i refused to admit it could be hardware as most of the time it is software. I returned it and bought a new WING (US version this time) and it was all good I spent hours install rom etc for nothing lol at least I know how to do it now. Just waiting for Android 12
