we changed the way the ftp upload works.
now you can upload by logging in with 'xdaupload', password 'xda'.
uploads appear in the '/Uploads' subdirectory of the main ftp site.
with user 'xda' password 'xda' you can now only download.
moderators will move the files to the main ftp site.
password XDA doesn't work...
but xda yes
Uploads.
If files are uploaded, please combine it with a text file that describes the file so we know where to put the files.
We have created a wiki page

I've been looking for the DarkForce ROM that a lot of people mention and I'd like to give it a try. I've used the search facility for DarkForce, google'd for it and basically spent time looking over loads of different posts, but can't find a link. I've even looked through the ftp site both in the universal folders and the upload folders, still found nothing. Does anyone have a link to a download site that they can send me please?
You mean you managed to get INTO the ftp server? Every time I cllick on an ftp link on these forums it gives me an "unable to contact server" error, whether I try from Opera, Firefox, Explorer or CuteFTP!
I looked at the ftp server, nothing found. It looks all topics from darkforce are deleted?

I've managed to get in with Internet Explorer v7 and SmartFTP without any issues. Have a read of the wiki http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_FTP_Site as that's what I followed.

Trying to add a quick link on the browser tab of Manila 2.5 for Opera 10 beta:
My link is to an .htm file on my device, in My Documents. The link I manually entered into the address reads:
file://localhost/My%20Document/...
...but when I click on it, Opera opens and give me an error, but in the address bar, the link now reads file//localhost/My%20Document/... (without the colon after file)
I tap on the address textbox, add a colon in after 'file' and select 'GO', and it works. What can I do to make this link properly open for my from my Manila Tab?
Thanks.
Try this...
HERE is a link to a page on how to set links on TP2's Internet tab. Worked for me!
Thanks, but I don't think this is my problem. This link tells me how to set up new LINKS on the browser tab. My Browser tab lets me do this customization fine, it's just that it doesn't properly open the link for an address that is located in my file system.
