Hi All,
After being a user of an SPV m2000 (HTC Blue Angel) for over a year, I've unfortunately decied I need a "proper" phone, and have now got the Motorola v3i as well.
However, shortly before i upgraded, I got a replacement SPV, with an upgraded rom set from my original one - details below.
Couple of questions:
1. Are these upgrades useful to anyone, or are they readily available out here anyway?
2. Is it possible to dump ALL of them in one go to my older SPV?
Details on ROMs follow:
_____________OLD SPV________________New SPV
Oper. Vers.____5.31.00wwe____________5.40.1.179
ROM vers._____1.31.00wwe____________1.40.00 wwe
ROM date______12/13/05______________03/10/05
Radio Vers._____1.06.02_______________1.06.02
Prot. Vers.______1337.38_______________1337.38
ExtROM Ver_____1.31.124 wwe__________1.40.179wwe
Feedback / details / requests for upload - all for the asking!
PS - just like to say a big thanks to all the experts here that helped me along the way. Now maybe I can give something back!
this is rather old ROM. There is already 1.42 main rom and 1.15 radio

I'm trying to upgrade my o2 XDA II to an M1000 ROM because I want to se eif it's any better than the O2 one,
Does anyone know where I can get it from? I've searched the forum for hours and have only managed to find a few zip files with the contents of the extended ROM in them.
The differences between operators is what is supplied in the Extended ROM. For example, version 1.72 of the OS is the same on all devices as is version 1.17 of Radio - Unless, of course they are in a different language.
The Extended ROM allows operators to add their own customizations, additional applications and, in some cases, their own fixes.
Hello again,
Hello there, I was under the impression that in the O2 ROM, changes have been made to some of the operating system dll files that control handsfree.
I have a problem getting mp3 audio out of the device when it is in car kit mode and from research on the site, i-Mate and Orange phone owners don't have this problem.
One suggestion was that the handsfree dll had been changed and so I was trying to get a copy of the Orange (UK) Rom as packaged by Orange. (I assume that they do an upgrade file in a similar way to O2.)
I have a copy of the custom 1.72 Orange ROM that ninjadonkey created. It's been pre configured to Orange UK, and its unofficial as Orange are useless at providing decent upgrades! It will be exactly the same as the new O2 upgrade without all the cool extra software (Fonix etc...) that you get from o2 so you're probably best off with what you've got mate!
Ok,
I notice that you have Tom Tom on your device, does that mean you have an in-car kit with it?
If so, can you hear Tom Tom messages through the Kit or does the device insist on playing through device speaker only?
Also, can anyone advise me on how to customise the Windows install in ROM so that the folders are set up as I like them (As with the XDA-Developers SER).
Cheers again.
No, unfortunately TomTom only comes through the device speaker.
grrrrrr! Bloody fiddlers developing in problems!

Can a copy of the custom 1.72 Orange ROM be downloaded from anywhere?
Perhaps it will help with some of the problems I am having with my M1000.
Thanks.
Here you go...
Enjoy at your own risk - works great for me though. This is an unofficial ROM customised for Orange UK by ninjadonkey. You will have issues with country code errors if you choose to upgrade again unless you follow the instructions in dcs's post on country code errors.

Many thanks TLO (and others on wiki) for making this easy for the rest of us. Very much appreciated!! One question. If I use this upgrade on my xda2s, can I still apply a future O2 ROM upgrade without having to change the device ID again..?
Many Thanks!!
Chris
With the new maUpgradeUT_noID.exe file, any Blue Angel rom goes on any Blue Angel device, regardless of which specific model it was designed to be used on.
Therefore, if future O2 upgrades give you trouble (which I am 99% sure they won't) you can just use the same method you used to upgrade to 1.40 to upgrade to the new O2 rom.
I just upgraded my O2 XDA 2s with the 1.40 ROM from iMate -- it's working great ! Many thanks !
Hi Guys !
I've been going through this forum since I got my XDA2i a couple of months ago. I have the following config :
ROM 1.10.00WWE
ROM Date 12/24/2004
Radio Version 1.00.00
Protocol Version 1337.39
ExtROM Version 1.10.124 WWE
Model No PH10C
I wanted to know if there is a possibility of better versions of these, even if they are of other models/manufacturers, to be put together on 1 XDA2i and make it work like one helluva machine ?
Can you recommend / attach the files to this question and tell me a little more about it as I am a non techie !
cheers
Prattz
you can get the new rom version off the o2 website .just follow the links
My extrom is blank should there be something there ?- it seems to work ok.
Guys,
Thanks for the inputs, the reason I have put the question up is that I have seen people having higher versions of the various stuff. They've got ROm from somewhere and Radio stack from somewhere else etc.
1. I wanted to use your expertise in creating an all powerful tool.
2. Add Blackberry functionality as was advertised earlier by O2, what
a let down now that they've removed all mentions of the blackberry.
Would really appreciate help in this regard.
cheers

There are two upgrades i know of ... one is the new I-mate upgrade, which came before the O2 one and has a newer Radio version .
BUT
the newest upgrade is the O2 upgrade, even though it doesnt have an upgraded radio.
A solution is to use the Rom "pug" posted, which uses the O2 upgrade but also includes the i-mate radio version.
You get the latest, and best of each so .... heres the link ... ftp://xdaupload:[email protected] XDA_IIi_Upgrade_v1.11.162 Radio_1.3.rar
I suggest you read through this 3 page thread first though as it will give you all the advice you need.

Hi Weasel, what do you think of the Qtek ROM? I recently changed from the O2 ROM to the Imate version, would be interested to know what you think are the Pros and Cons of your latest ROM?
Thanks
Phil
Hi
I have just gone through the update process (to UNI_QTEK_13077_176_10900_WWE_Ship.exe) with my xda exec as I was on the latest o2 rom and I followed the instructions here:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/inde...tion On How To Upgrade with Bootloader method
The bit I hadn't picked up before was the .nbf files have to be in the same directory as the rest of the update and MaUpgradeUt_noID - I deleted the radio version witin the folder (radio_.nbf_) and then pasted in the 1.0.9 one which I downloaded speratly - hit MaUpgradeUt_noID and everything completed within 30 mins or so.
The xda is like a new machine compared to the old o2 rom I was on as it's soooo much quicker.
Oh i was worried about not having my o2 settings but if you download this cab file and run this cab[/url after you have finished setting it up on qtek rom you get all your setting back for o2 (choose basic when using cab not corporate as that doesn't seem to work!
Hi Andy, what do you think of the Qtek ROM? I recently changed from the O2 ROM to the iMate version, would be interested to know what you think are the Pros and Cons of your latest ROM?
sorry for the delay in responding:
My first impressions of the QTEK ROM were fine but.... on Sunday, the phone just stopped working completely - no signal etc. Hard reset was required to get it working again. I've disabled error reporting and will load my software back on later today.

Hi, as a newbie, could anyone tell me how to get the rom upgrade for this device please, and the easy way to install it
Having been in touch with vodafone they pushed me back to my contract supplier (carfone warehouse) who are useless.
On the imate website I can see the rom upgrade but, after entering my IMEI it wont allow me any further!
- would this rom upgrade work anyway, or do i need the vodafone specific one? - i note that orange / o2 upgrade is already available
any help/info greatly received
thankx in advance
