Hi all, this is my first post in this forum, so first of all I wanted to greet everybody
I have a simple question, is it possible to change the sound notification of my Qtek9090 with WM2k3?
I set a WMA music as ringtone but I would to change the notification of receipt for the sms and MMS, how to do it?
Tnx in Advance
txt and mms is the same way as call notification , but if ur wanting to customise your own tones for them then all u do is place any .wav file into the windows directory, then u can use them.
welcome to the boards by the way!
Where are the sounds (for rintones, alarms, etc.) stored on a WM6 device?
I want to change the alarm sound on my phone and I don't like the built-in list of alarm sounds and want to add my own.
So, two questions:
1. where are the alarm sounds stored?
and
2. what format can you use for alarm sounds?
BTW I want to change my alarm to sound like a standard telephone ring so that I can set it to go off in the middle of meetings to pretend that someone is calling me to let me escape these ****ing wastes of time. It never fails.
In windows folder you will find another folder its name is Rings you can add your fav. files by copy and paste method then if u would like to change tones, you can do that by settings-> Personal -> Phone
oh I forgot!!!!
.wmv .mp3 .... are usually used format
I think for the alarm sounds, you're restricted to just wav (maybe wma but i've not confirmed that) but they have to be in the windows folder, not the rings as stated above.
Cheers,
Smiffy.
you are right Lordsmiff!!!
I am so sorry
I do not know why I chose tones option for alarm

To add further, alarm and notification tones are restricted to WAV format.
Put then in \windows\ folder.

Thanks for clarifying this.
Does anyone have any good WAV "alarms" that sound like telephone calls (ringtones)?
Cheers.
Bobby
Does anyone know the location of or the name, of the sound files for 'sms sent' and 'delete confirmation', please?
There is no option to change these in Settings>Sounds & Notifications. The files don't appear to be located in the Windows folder either...
Anyone please help?
I'm just getting to grips with my new WM6 device
hi all
i will like to assign my own music as alarm tone, any1 knows how to do it?
and i like to use SE panel 02. just wondering can i change the background with my own picture instead of the colours scheme they offer?
recently i realise my phone ringtone keep jumping from vibrate and ring into ring only by itself. so fustrating. any suggestion?
thanks
For ingtones you can use any mp3s, for message tone you need to use a WMA or WAV. file which you have to put directly into the windows folder... for Alarm tone you can only use a WAV. file which also goes directly into the windows folder.....
Check your ringtone setting to see if you have set it to ring then vibrate...
To change the picture on the panel you need to get 2 pictures one vertical and another horizontal (you can use the same picture but you need 2 files) rename one to "00h" (horizontal) and one to "00v" for vertical. Then place them in program files, panels, sonyericsson panels, images folder. Notice theres alots of files with these kind of names you can replace any of them by renaming your file but this will over write the original colour backgrounds in the panel.
It is possible to use a MP3 file for message tone
No you would need to convert it to WMA or WAV

i cant paste anything inside the windows folder. whenever i go into windows folder, there is no space for mi to hold my touch for a paste. there is no paste option.
regarding the ring and vibrate, everytime i set to "ring n vibrate", after a while it will set back by itself to "ring"
any idea how come everytime i encounter error with tmail.exe also?
thanks pal i sucessfully changed my alarm tone and background for my SE panel.

Is there a reg edit that lets you change the volume of the sliding keyboard sound independent of the system volume?
dont think so, as there is nothing in the registry for sliding sound that relates to volume.
BUT what you could do is get a sound editor, copy over the sliding sound you want to use to your pc, cut down the actual volume of the .wav and then send it back to your device and use that as your sliding sound.
Sliding Keyboard Sound
Does anyone know where the sliding keyboard sound file is located? Is it a wav or wma file?
0_in.xwav
0_out.xwav
1_in.xwav
1_out.xwav
2_in.xwav
2_out.xwav
3_in.xwav
3_out.xwav
4_in.xwav
4_out.xwav
If sound editor don't support xwav: rename xwav to wav
