Hi there i have an imate PDA2k, the infrared range is about a meter, is it possible to increase the range of the infrared??
Cheers
The range is hardware based, so without hardware modification, no.
acturally i used to DIY a Ir sender/receiver on my headphone port.the range is about 5m.but it was on my previous Compaq ipaq and broke after i sat on it.....
Hi There ,
are you able to provide any instructions or point me in the right direction?
cheers

Hi guys,
Was planning to buy one of iTech's new bluetooth, red laser, virtual keyboards, I see from a review @ Dave's Ipaq
http://davesipaq.com/articles/iPAQ_Bluetooth Virtual Keyboard_iTECH_2P/1.html
that there are problems bonding to certain Ipaqs, has anyone tried to bond one to an XDA IIi? They are £120 odd, available soon from Expansys,
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=118539,
but obviously already available elsewhere.
A friend of mine did buy one but complained about fingers hurting after tapping on the projected keyboard surface. The other problem is also to find a large flat surface for the projection, specially when on the move.
We reviewed one a while back and the conclusion was it was a great gadget but impractical, a decent bluetooth keyboard would be a much more practical solution.
Problem with VKB
Hi folks!,
I have this gadget and its very cool, but until now I can`t pair VKB with my PPC (HTC Apache with Widcomm BT Stack). Simply my PPC not "see" the VKB as Bluetooth device and the I-Tech`s Tech support don`t answer my questions. Someone can help me?
Thank you in advance
I have the CL800BT from Celluon which is apparently very similar but supposedly a few more advanced options. (more key shortcuts)
Im using it with a HTC P3600i on WM6.
In general, most of these devices were released in WM2003 period and drivers are built for them.
I have had very good success pairing and using the CL800BT, but am yet to work out the mouse function.
The official rom for Hermes will comming soon. Is there GPS available in Hermes? This is because i have heard that there is a shipset inside Hermes which is the same as Trinity. Can anyone tell me ?

it seems that there is still developing.

I believe the GPS development has ended since no one is willing to try or give out instructions to build an antenna becuase it might bricked or fried their phone just for the sake or GPS. Just get a mini bluetooth GPS receiver and put it into your pocket. You can then show it off to your friendshat you have a built-in GPS.
Still busy
Well, I am still busy to get an antenne in my TyTN. I'm looking for a company/repaircenter who is willing to modify my TyTN.
When I have fineshed my search I will report as soon as possible.

so instead of RTFM we now have RTFW ?
btw, it's not worth it, save the trouble and just get a stand alone bluetooth GPS for $80.
Why
Why isn't it worth it? Is it technaly not possible oris it just because of the money?
Post 268 is the thread you posted closes with: Not trivial, not easy, and IMHO not worth the cost of the phone.
I am from Holland and my English is not that good, but it read that it is possible, only with some risk. I am looking for a repaircenter. I know that they know what they are doing. I am searching for a company which has some intrest of modifying TyTNs.
Who knows it works... or not. We'll never know until someone is taking this chance.
no one know the exact pin out
no antenae
no one is willing to risk $500 device for a function that cost $80 to buy
The problem is that we do know the exact pinouts. It's in the GPS development thread. What we found out was that the GPSMix pins were deliberately grounded to follow Qualcomm's best practices for RFR6250 applications where the GPS is not used. Failure to ground the pins could fry the device or increase power consumption. Additionally, a software controlled LNA was critical to the project from a battery life perspective. Re-enabling the on board LNA that was software controlled through the [email protected] instruction set meant lifting 5 pins then building matching circuitry and constructing a seperate RF cage to hold everything.
@Sleuth
Do you have some advise when I speak to repaircenters about this modify? Can you make a list where we have to watch out for?
Do you think it is possible to make the antenna in the TyTN, technaly and physically?
@tembares: Yes, its possible but not trivial or inexpensive to do. You will have to be well versed in micro-circuitry soldering techniques and have some pretty good equipment at your disposal to lift the necessary pins w/o trashing your Hermes.
The GPS development thread contains most of the information that you will need. I don't think a repair center would take this mod on and it will for sure void your warranty.

some times i think ... no body read!
jow ... check this side! it works ... OK ... read all PDFs about this product and discriptions. you can buy it over ebay. if a product work on the windows CE plattform and Linux too ... it works on prophet to 100%
I'm interested in this too but I can't afford it just now, can someone rich go buy it and test for us?
the eops one should def. work to some extent - if the analogue signals weren't getting switched off soon here in UK i think I'd try it.
Downsides I can immediately see are the measly 2.5hrs battery life, the fact you can only listen through headphones (or external speaker), and the size of the unit; from the pic on the site it would add considerable bulk to the prophet's size.
It also comes with a very technical accessory for attaching the TV tuner to the back of the phone
"In The Box; Velcro Tape (optionally attachable to the back of PDA)"
The warnings on the site about needing a strong TV signal are a little worrying too.

I am in ITU Discussion
Until 2015 all countries should have Digital signal (DVB-T)
after 2015 the countries can off their Analog signal.
I've just been looking at this (http://www.htcwiki.com/page/HTC+Artemis) and it says the Artemis has RS232 through a proprietary connector.
There's nothing on XDA-developers about this (yes, I searched the Artemis forums), and I can't find anything that looks like a concealed port, so I was wondering if this was correct but maybe not on my model or something.
This'd be really, really useful for interfacing the phone with other electronics so I'm really hoping that it's not just a typo on htcwiki!
Thanks for any help!
Hello team, first of all forgive the translation I am French and my English levels poor and correct by a translator
i am looking for an android unit for a nissan xtrail from 2003
I am rather undecided concerning the choice, my preferences this relates to dasaita and xtrons for the moment. Clearly I need a split screen the main use will be a surveillance camera installed in a van for monitoring horses accompanied by gps, radio ... and a rear view camera
clearly the mediocre internet network at my place. so i need a good fm tuner so this is starting to have a problem.
I also need to keep the controls behind the wheel, but no canbus for my vehicle ...
I contacted xtron and dasaita, dasaita told me about the possibility of keeping the steering wheel controls with bluetooth ... I am puzzled.
I am also undecided between a 7 "or 10" screen for comfort during my use.
Pour l'instant je retient 3 modèle en 7"
-xtrons tq709ipl
-dasaita max6
and a less expensive model at a good price : xtrons te706pl
Sorry I can't post an external link
for the 10 "I have not yet looked.
clearly my use will not be standard on this type of car radio know why I allow myself to call on your experience in order to guide me in a choice for which I am completely blocked.
I thank all who will take the trouble to read this post and to respond to me in a friendly French friend.
Hi, do you installed the head unit? How was your experience?
We have dasaita px6, lots of issues and can't use it anymore!! Thinking to buy another new unit . Could you please tell me what brand is best!!
