Since an unlock doesn't do anything more than simply change some registry keys and factory resetting a device puts everything back to default: yes you will.
In that case can I unlock it again with the same token?
Disregard this, just found out you can.
Like the title says I re-locked the bootloader earlier today with fastboot command (oem lock) and now I wanted to do a factory reset. First I did it from Settings but when it restarted it brought me to the bootloader menu so I clicked Factory Reset from there and still nothing. The phone won't reset. What could be the issue and what should I do?

I was already using the stock. Anyway I unlocked the bootloader again and now it's fine, but it would be nice if someone offers solution for this issue because it could happen to anyone.

Ah, okay
Probably unlocking bootloader soon, I realize it will reset the phone. But will it then use my Google backup to restore same as any other reset?
yes.
Yes
yes
I'm going to keep this short and sweet. I have a Sprint S9 SM-G960U and its activation locked and been factory reset. My friend gave me his old phone after he upgraded because he forgot the lock code and does not remember what google account was used to unlock the device after it was reset from the factory reset boot menu.
Is it possible to unlock the bootloader...if thats even needed, root the device, and flash a custom rom to get around this?

AFAIK there is no reliable rooting / bootloader unlocking method available
Same question for a european SM-G960U (Snapdragon), where no "OEM unlock" option is available in Developers options.
I've just factory reset it, and am currently waiting for the tedious 7-day uptime period to pass, but am I keeping my hopes too up ??
Please share your results and whether or not it was successful. Thanks!
Well, no luck : no unlock option appeared, and the owner decided to get their device back, so I sadly don't have any result to contribue.

Bummer!!!
Need help recovering lost data. Was messing around with my phone because the cellular connection wasn't working, and accidentally factory reset. I have no back ups, local, online, or otherwise. Heard you can recover the data via unlocking boot loader and getting software but I cannot find it anywhere, only scams and stuff that doesn't work.
A Factory Reset wipes all user-data as Unlocking Bootloader also does.
You need forensic tools to recover the wiped data. May be an authorized service you take the phone to may have them.

So I can bring it to a local service provider, then? And there's no way I myself can recover the data?
I think so.
