I am looking for a o2 XDA replacement screen in Taiwan,
I live so close to the manufacturer but..they never reply to my email..does anyone here know where I can get the screen in Taiwan or asia??..thanks
Don't know nobody in Asia, but my suggest is to contact www.pdasmart.com; I've sent my XDA to them two times: one for the LCD and one foe the touchscreen. You can even buy spare parts from them and make your fix by yourself (they'll send you easy instructions)
Good Luck!
Problem sorted..
Many thanks for any relies..I found a supplier...cheap too! 90 pounds sterling....if anyone else needs a screen i recommend http://www.runpda.com/ they can supply other pda stuff too!... a big thanks for the help from Edward...cheers Pal...

Hi,
On Ebay I have bought a XDA 2 PCB board. What I need help with is what other parts will I need to make work. So far I think I need:
1 DIY battery kit
1 Touchscreen LCD
1 Sync cable (which is best?)
some software for my PC, any ideas?
1 case, any ideas were I can get this from or has any one got one?
Any ideas on get this project up and running would be most appriecated.
Thanks
Cmcmill01
Software on the pc is no problem.
You just need Active Sync, can be downloaded from here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/resources/downloads/pocketpc/activesync37.mspx
With the rest, I can't help you...
Cheers Jos,
Anyboby else with some ideas?
Has anybody got a faulty XDAII, wishing to sell?
Cheers
Cmcmill01
well i think that most peoples warrenty would replace their defect xda2 still
unless they abused it in a manner most faul that the company would notice
but with time and newer radio stacks and a full rom kitchen
you will mostlikely be able to get some
though as to buying the parts from new maybe diff to find and prob pricy aswell
Cheers for the Info
Has the XDA II got the same case as any other handheld?
As for the screen does that come in two parts?
cheers

all pda's i've ever messed with have seperate lcd and touch screen
Is there any way to test that board before you spend so much money, because the xda2 is so new I dont see you getting secondhand parts and to buy them new is likely to cost somewhere near the price of buying a warranted unit.
So here are my thoughts, if they are complete crap let me know.
Get the board, attach the power and sync lead (can it run with out battery attached just on the mains?)
Get the LCD screen (ACX706AKM sony part, XDA I, is it the same screen for the XDA II)
Load up the ROM and Radio Stack, is this all I have to do to get Windows 2003 on the XDA?
Then get a case, by that time I'll probably have spent more than a new one.
Don't think you can use a XDA I screen, because it has less colors (4K instead of 64K).

Does anyone know the Part number for the XDA II screen, I'll try and source one that way?
screens
Are any Ipaq screens used on the XDAII?
cheers
i think there is an url somewhere for people who want to buy a new tft and touchscreen i'll look for it if you like
That would be great if you could.
Thanks

here you go
Cheers, for that.
But is that not for the XDA? not the XDAII, they have different screens!
Good luck finding a screen. I have called Sony trying to get one for XDA, and they referred me to the MFG who does not respond to any consumer inquiries. It seems that they don't want end users to have the ability to repair their own phones. If you find a source for the screen I'd love to know.
Good luck!
Hi CMCMILL01

Do the experts think it would be possible to replace a busted XDA IIS LCD with the LCD from a cheap iPaq or some other PDA? They probably all order these things from Samsung or someone anyway right?
no-one knows??
i know somewhere in france where i got mine repaired twice !!
it cost me 90 euros each time
the guy is cool

he has repaired my spv m2000!
i just need the display, but can't find one on ebay or so.
you know a shop or something?
thx
Sorry to bump this again but it'd be really helpful if anyone has any inkling on whether this would work or not (replacing an XDA LCD with an iPaq [or other] one).
Pocket PC techs in California should have replacement LCDS
I was involved in a motorcycle accident few months back and my LCD cracked. Pocket PC techs were the only people outside of HTC that could repair it.

My LCD is dead
May be anybody know where i can bay new LCD for my Atom?
I had the same problem, but after many hours of searching nothing came up.
So, i've sent it to official support @ Hong Kong.
yep me too. Apparently, o2 does not allow the repair centres to sell the lcds to the public. Now I have to pay almost AU$400 to have it repalced by the Australian repair centre.
Its a joke considering the price is only AU$150 from the Thailand repair centre (I got a sale quote for the lcd but then they told me they cant sell it to me because I am not a repair centre :x ).
FINALLY!!!!

supply lcdscreen from china
hello all, any one who want lcdscreen, and also other accessories of pda, please contact me, we are a chinese company locates in ShenZhen.
I just ordered a new screen for my IPAQ 6815 for €75 incl. shipping from Ebay. It's probably arriving next week. Got it from seller hongkongop. If you can't find a cheap one, remember that the next PDA's use the same (NEC) screen:
- O2 Atom/Atom Exec/Atom life
- Mita C Mio A700/A701
- HP iPAQ 6800 6812 6815 6818 6828
Changing and getting a NEW LCD screen for O2 Atom is easy!!
I have broken my LCD screen for O2 atom before and went through the horrible same pain of only being able to receive the phone call and calling the last person who you previously talked to.
Getting a new LCD screen is easy. Now, there are many sellers on eBay who sells new LCD screens. However, one of the hardest part was to find out how to change it.
Believe it or not, O2 is one of the most easiest handset to dissemble. I found my guide on google which was in chinese, however, the pictures themselves were pretty much self explanatory.
Hope this helps.
I have the replacement LCD for the Atom, as well as the touchscreen.
The LCD is $80. The touchscreen is $8.
PM me if you would like more information.

My LCD screen (front part) was crack last week and I decide to pop in to O2 authorize service center to ask for replacing. You know how much their charge? Dam.... expensive RM535 (Diagnosis+labor+LCD) even it is still under warranty.
Of course, I'm not proceed. Next I walk out and went to the freelance services center who situated in opposite building and try my luck.Guys, I am lucky (although go to paid for it) and manage to fix this crack by paying RM190 which include the screen protector.

How does Russian work?
http://mikechannon.net/index.html has a number of manuals. Dissassembly on this page http://mikechannon.net/Manuals Page 3.htm
The dissassembly manual for the Atom is here http://www.pdacenter.ru/razborka/razbor_hp_rw_6815/ (ignore that it is a HP)
There are online service manuals for $10 in places
I'm about to replace my LCD - I'll see how I go...
Translated into english
http://translate.google.com.au/tran...rw_6815/&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=3&ct=result
This is much harder than I thought it would be!
***Warning do not attempt replacing just the touch screen unless you are extremely technically proficient (i.e. you can solder under a microscope.
If you want to replace a LCD and touch screen in one unit it would be easier, but my connection is no longer good and I'm getting flickering!! Tips anyone?
I was hoping to wait for a HTC diamond to come to Australia, but looks like I might be forced into going for something else
Unless I could stand a few months of no PDA...

Hi all,
I have a Note 10.1 2014 that I bricked for good-really!-and I want to try putting a replacement mother board in. At least I assume it's the MB. Anyone know where parts might be available in the U.S.? (I can't deal with China shipping time, forget overseas at all)
Other alternative is if someone here has a damaged unit with a known good board that I could cannibalize. I'm very experienced with working on small parts, used to work in defense electronics so doing the physical replacement will go easy for me, and thanks to everyone here, I can flash the ROM, etc.
Very much appreciated if anyone can help-thanks in advance!
