Hi. I'm new to this and would appreciate any help given. Having a love/hate w/ my O2 XDAiis. (Definitely hate these days!) Device info.
ROM version 1.40.00 WWE
ROM Date 03/10/05
Radio 1.12.00
Protocol 1337.42
ExtROM 1.40.237 WWE
Running Windows Mobile 2003 SE
ActiveSync 3.8 (Build 5004)
Everything was working fantastic for a long while then all of a sudden only calendar won't sync w/ my outlook 2003 while everything does. Did a hard reset and calendar came back. Started reinstalling programs then all of a sudden calendar won't sync again.
Prior to not sync malfunction, this is what I saw: -
In cradle, everything was peachy keen
Pulled O2 off cradle then saw "Calendar initialising" message on the XDA
Schedules that were there suddenl;y disappeared.
Put O2 back in cradle then partnership disappeared
Deleted old partnership
Everything else sync's except Calendar
Calendar under options in Activesync reads "Disabled"
Any idea as to how I can reenable? Thanks in advance.
u r not alone!
Hi,
I am experiencing the exact same problem.
I have noticed the porblem only happens when I have a SIM card switched on within the device.
Have you found a solution yet?

I have been fiddling with my Blue Angel, as one does. Anyway - I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this problem.
Firstly, my device (T-Mobile UK 1.42 ROM) stopped syncing the Calendar from Outlook 2003, which itself uses an exchange 'mailbox' for storage.
This is not ideal, as you may imagine, so I tried to re-install Outlook, and Activesync 3.8. To make sure, I also hard-reset the BA.
Again I was asked to 'place the device in the cradle' and ActiveSync shuffled around, turned green and minimised - WITHOUT asking me if it was a standard/guest partnership etc etc.
Basically, both PC and PPC AS connections showed connected, but nothing was syncing.
I have temporarily resolved this by installing AS 4.0, which again asked me how I wanted to sync, but ideally I would like to use AS 3.8 (since I'm using WM2003SE) and yet each time I install 3.8 or 3.7.1 it connects but refuses to sync.
***Correction - On closer inspection, whilst it Syncs everything else, Calendar is still not synced with AS4, and nor does it give the option.
Is this something seen before? Likely to be an Outlook, ActiveSync or PPC issue?
Regards,
Darren
Anyone knows how to fix the missing appointements on wm6 calendar ??

Yes, i have a same problem with Tytn with WM6
Me too, i have the same problems with exchange 2003 !
And now, after a soft reset, Artemis freeze at startup, the only solution is the hard reset.

I never had problems with synchronising with Exchange 03, but the freezing startscreen problem is happend now for ~4th time...
Now i changed back to v3.7 and wait until Tom releases v4.1... hope this freezing problem will dissapear. But i know, Tom will fix it for sure
Why did you change back to WM5? There are other releases of WM6 from Tom which are also very good, but without TouchFlo...
I just upgraded my MDA-Vario 2 to WM6, it used to sync fine to SBS2003, but now email OK, contacts OK, but NO Calendar entries - I deleted the partnership and reinstated it, there was an 'attempt' to sync the calendar, but no entries appear on the MDA. Any ideas anyone?
Hi all,
having upgraded to the official O2 WM6 Rom, I have since been getting trouble with Activesync. The syncronisation is very slow and sometimes will not syncronise at all. I sometimes have to disconnect and reconnect to get the blue bar to move and complete syncronisation.
I am running XP sp2 on both home and work PCs and it is the same on both computers.
Anyone else noticed any problems synchronising with the WM6 Rom and Activesync 4.5?
I have searched the forum and also tried Microsoft knowledgebase but to no avail.

Same problem ive had here, but finaly it worked! No issues since.
I Have had the problem at 1st sync after the update. Then tried to sync 1st the contacts, then added calendar, files and so on. It appeared that my big calendar (400 appointments in total or so) made that activesync hung. I changed the setting from sync all appointments to just the next 2 weeks, and then activesync synced properly. After i added some more weeks, and at last i synced all apointments.
No problems since, also at first sync at work (2nd pc with activesync) this problem did not occur at all and i could sync all appointments (and contacts, files, and so on) at once.
Hope this helps for you 2!!!
Twiggerdingo, thanks, I may try that, but all appointments and contacts are now synchronised, it still takes ages though and sometimes stops, even when there is only one item to synchronise.
I have a Dopod 838Pro and I have used a played with a number of different ROMS and have stuck with Schap's WM6 and am currently running:
Schap's 4.31
Radio: 1.54.30.10
The problem. For some reason which I can't tie down, the MMS settings continue to return to the default vpix.com/servlets..... settings. Being that I don't send or receive alot of MMS it's not a huge problem, but it's got me buggered why it does this.
I sync between two PC's, one XP with Active Sync 4.5.0 (which then uses Groupwise PDA connect to sync with Groupwise) then at home I have Vista with it's Mobile Centre syncing up with Outlook 2007.
For no good reason every now and again the Vista Machine decides it doesn't know about about the PDA anymore and decides it's a new device. Being that this is random, by the time I notice the PDA has lost all contacts and calendar. I'm not sure if this is before or after I put it into the dock, but I can confirm that it is before I confirm anything on the PC.
I know that if you delete a "profile" thing on the PDA it will loose all information associated (including the calendar and contacts etc), but I'm not doing that.
Again the rare use of MMS means I can't pin down the MMS settings change to the PDA loosing sync. The other strange thing is that if I change the settings in the "Default" MMS server settings, when they revert back to the vpix settings, I am sort of screwed, but if I create an "Optus" profile then set that as default, when the vpix thing happens it simply re-selects the default profile, the upside being I can just re-select the Optus one and away I go.
So does anyone understand my ramblings or has anyone had a similar problem? Is it Vista? Is it the ROM? Is it a dodgy piece of hardware? Any ideas are welcome.
Hi Folks,
I've flashed my Orbit with a couple of new ROMs recently (my first time doing it, seems to have gone smoothly).
I've just noticed that Active Sync doesn't seem to be taking my calendar items from my PC to my device. Everything else goes across OK, and AS says that it's synced the calendar, but nothing appears.
Any ideas??
Matt
I think I've figured this out now. It looks like WM6.1 isn't compatible with my work laptop, which runs XP & Office 2000.
Don't think Office 2000 is supported?
The combination WM 6.1 and ActiveSync 4.5 sucks... especially if you use two PC's. There's a topic about that. Microsoft says they support WM6 but no word about WM6.1, so I think we can wait forever for a solution.
My solution is to go back to WM6
