Corporate mode - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro Software Upgrading

I hear over and over again of a corporate mode for XDA exec. I have a iMate Jasjar does the corporate upgrade work for that model. what does it exactly do anyways?

If you have a jasjar it is already in the equivalent of corporate mode. Corporate mode is an option on o2 devices to not install any of the o2 active interface as it is total crap!

do you know where i can find the latest jasjar rom

tempelier245:
I think you can find a copy (I am not sure if its the latest though...) of the JasJar ROM on the ftp site.
here is a link: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
(also on the top left side of this page) just look for the link therein for the universal and/or ftp pages.
A note though: from reading some of the threads, I understand that many people who bought the JasJar, actually prefer to install the O2 ROM -
as it is a later/updated version and (at least appears from what I read) is supposedly less problematic.
I have no actual experience as to which is better, as I have the Exec, and apart from some expected small glitches here and there - have no real issues with its ROM.

thanks... but there are different files, one is 60mb and another just 6.... there is also an o2 rom.... so wich one should I install

WM2005 sucks?

Looks like wm2005 still not very stable, a lot of programs still not working.
For example, Xbackup, set as ringtone or Monster Chinese, etc.
well alot of programs required new versions when 2003SE came out as well

Using it on my Imate for a month or more and no problem so far and no lock-ups like there were on WM2003SE
I think the title of this thread is misleading... :?
The fact that it does not run several applications or crashes is because:
1.- This version is not final
2.- It's not compatible because of it's very nature, IT'S A NEW OS!!!
The same happened when we upgraded our PCs to Windows XP don't you remember?
New versions will start to come up eventually, and even if you don't see any advances "right-out-of-the-box" it's because the main improvements on this OS reside behind the scenes, so Programmers will start to develop new and exciting apps that take advantage of the new features and APIs.
For me Windows Mobile 5.0 has been very stable even with the very first version that Buzz, Toe and the gang which had very limited memory resources I had no stability problems whatsoever.
There are limitations of course, (like no MMS, mediocre video camera, sms problems, etc) but eventually Microsoft OR our very own developers will take care of that!
So, BE PATIENT!!!!!
Hi,
Using it for 3 days in my Qtek 2020 and no problem at all.
Even Jabra250 works fine, when in 2003SE was difficult to setup.
About software that don't work, we must wait until new versions come out...
I'm sure when you update you computer from NT to W2K you has software that didn't work and had to buy new versions, so why should be different here?
Be patient.... Mobile5 is ok for now.

i double that
Rayan & all the rest are right!!!
I can't agree less to what Rayan wrote.
It's a new OS and a beta for that matter (check out Goras thread on "WM2005 that I can share"), If I'm not mistaken it's not also intended for Himalaya, judging on the memory problems just solved(!) by Buzz, toenailed, XdaJojo, mamaich & all the other contributors as well.
Personally in my opinion its a lot 'solid' than the WM2003 & SE since it has to crash yet on my xda II, as mentioned by Rayan even the initial release of the OS with limited memory was stable.
The problems with the apps like backup & camera are being solved one-by-one, MMS which doesn't even start before is now working (check out the threads on WM2005 in the forum).
Even now, the benefits of using the OS in terms of performance, stability & looks far outweighs its limitations (in my humble opinion) just be patient & leave it to the WIZARDS (Buzz, toenailed, XdaJojo, etc. etc. etc).
Besides, hey ttseng this is the xda-developers forum & we all are having fun testing, tweaking, & breathing new life to our "soon to be outlawed" XDA II ....... if not for the WIZARDS in the forum !!!!! Notice the request for the OS on the other xda models, aren't we lucky we have the WiZARDS working on the HIMA?
Cheers!
works flawlessly on XDA2 Himalaya!!!!!!!!
best os and most stable one ive come across ,wm200se never really happy but this WM2005 is and has been stable without a single hard reset or rest since install.even self configured the o2email and hotmail!! took the o2 uk config & connections setup file from a XDA2s_1-12-178-WWE_UK_Extended_ Rom.
Is there more than one version of WM2005 kicking about?
I successfully installed WM2005 on my XDA II, but I couldn't get many 3rd party apps to install on it. So I was surprised to see screenshots with certain utilities running ok.
I was wondering if there is more than one version of it floating about on the net. The one I installed was found on these forums, but I have recently downloaded another off usenet.
They are both himalaya.
I am sure a non-beta copy will rear its head on here sooner rather than later (I hope!)
Cam
this version is in the ftp section ,the rom has a file name of
wm2k5_XDA2_HIMALAYA_O2_fullRAM.rar
Yep!
That's the one!
That would make both copies I have the same.
Is this a late BETA or even an RTM version?
Now that the OS has been officially released I am guessing it's a race for someone to post the released version ;-)
the official full version is released?
wow!
so when can we have it for download here?
i am planning to put off my upgrade till the full version comes out.
currently i am on the win2003se which i aint very happy with!
plz advise...
thanx everybody.
It out but you cant get it.
I have a friend who is a manger in Microsoft. I sent the MS link of the offical release and asked if it can be obtained from the internal web software store. At the moment it cant and I feel it will also never be the case (2003 the end user could never buy).
So we are back to the carriers and if they will ship 2005 as an upgrade for ood devices or only on new (MDA XDA IV).
Dont think one needs to be a rocket scintist to answer that, was not one of the devices never shipped with 2003, the way I remember it it was buz that did a Chines to English translation.
So at least w on the BA side have to wait untill something gets leaked.
A little help with WM2005 upgrade please!!!!!!!
I see that most people have upgraded to WM2005 without much trouble, but not me!! I am with o2 and I've just upgraded and I can't us GPRS (it keeps trying to dial 193.113.200.195 and then drops the conx even though the IP is entered in the APN section) I can't run Worldmate pro (not compatable), TOMTOM 3 (need to upgrade to ver 4.4) pick up email etc etc.
Could I have the details that you need to enter into your XDA to connect to o2 network via GPRS so that I can access hotmail, messenger, MMS, Internet etc etc
I hope you can help as I don't want to downgrade to the old windows version.
i can send u a O2 customisation cab file if u need ,however your phone must b on contract with O2UK not payg or orange etc..
Yes Please!!
That'll be great. yes I am with O2 contract.......
where is the awesome rom !!! please
iam running w2005 in my XD2..but still MANY applications cant be installed..and i was surprised to see the screenshot (above) with many applications runing ..BUT i couldnt find the ROM...i found only the one for XDA2s..."XDA2s_1-12-178-WWE_UK_Extended_ Rom" actually is a zipped file with no rom inside..just many cab files ..can anyone help me please...thanks guys

Haves and Have Nots for the latest QTEK 9000 ROM update

OK, lets start this thread by posting your latest experiences with this ROM update
1) No .NET CF v2.0 - Have to install yourself
2) Camera tested with 4GB SD card without problem (from another forum)
3) Another battery icon (vertical) will be displayed on the top bar when the battery level is less than 15% besides the standard horizontal battery icon
4) Improved battery life
No Line2 functionality
RE
There is AVRCP, however, I think only WMP takes advantage of it. Even then hardware is not 100% compatible with AVCRP and WMP although it (hardware) supports AVRCP.
Other software players look like not responding to it for the moment.

This is good, but would be more helpful, if you could say in comparison with what ever other ROM may have the feature that is missing - or the limitation. That will make it easier to gauge if the upgrade will worth it, or will leave other short comings that it may not be possible to live with.
I'm running the 1.30.76 WWE iMate ROM (mainly because I used the iMate ROM on my HTC Wizard) but I'm not sure if I would be better off with the QTEK one)
The iMate does have some sort of operator customisation for a lot of other operators inc TMO UK who I use - is this present on the QTEK? - I still have to setup WAP & MMS manually
What apps are installed by default with QTEK - in comparison with iMate (I believe SKYPE is missing on QTEK?)
The .NET CF 2 being missing is mentioned above - what ROM does have it installed by default?
Is the skin for the phone application the same on these 2 ROMs (I much prefer the rounded buttons in the iMate ROM to the horrid square things on TMO ROM)
Thanks - as ever this is a great resource.
RE
Hi cliffai,
I have not tested any other manufacturers' ROMs as I'm having the QTEK 9000 set
My comparison is more with the QTEK 9000 shipping ROM

NO - Both QTEK's shipped ROM and this latest version do not have operator customisation. No problem with manual settings for me.
NO - Skype is not installed by default for both versions. I don't use skype. I believe skype's importance cannot be overlooked once wireless broadband becomes common.
NO - .NET CF v2.0 is not installed in both versions too. AFAIK its not installed by default in any PPC. However, a growing list of programs using .NET CF v2.0 is something that cannot be neglected, here:-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=42463
QTek is better, I think.
Both two I have tried. Qtek I prefer. Qtek is more simple and elegant.
the qtek rom is the way to go if you do not want customization as it gives u loads of free space, even if u dun soft reset within the first 3 seconds of a hard reset.

EXPERINCES with Different ROMs (Imate, O2, orange, Qtek etc.

Hi guys!
Just a thougt and input from everybody after exposure of variety of ROMs.
How is individual's experience with his favourite rom and why and what does he feels about other roms.
Let's start
I have experienced Imate, Orange, Qtek, O2 and latestly Dopod ROMs and found
Imate as standard
Qtek as little fast
Orange as TURTLE even in this new environment
O2 as stable
Dopod currently using.
what's your experence???????????
My personal experience -
Dopod - using now. Stable and fast wake-up.
O2 - rate it the same as Dopod.
Qtek - slightly faster but somehow, it hanged more often vs. Dopod and O2.
Imate - the base but most stability issues for me comparing to above.
would you mind giving the version numbers u used. I cant figure out with ones to use!
Dopod - very happy with it, also on the Wizard
could someone point me to a link for the dopod 900 rom? I would be very thankful!

Well, ever since got my exec 1 week ago, been crashing in on 3 Roms so far.
Qtek - Currently using, no hang so far.
O2 - Slightly slower compared to Dopod and Qtek.
Dopod - Stable.
I have tried the Jasjar, O2, and QTEC ROMs. I prefer the QTEC ROM because it has both A2DP and AKU2 support. I have been using it for more than a month, no crashes, all is working fine, and stable on my O2 Exec.
I believe any type of hanging in any ROM is due to a 3rd party app that you have installed. As long as you can sort it out, then it will work as you expected.
Does the new Dopod ROM have both A2DP and AKU2 support?

Nope, hence i am hanging on e qtek on my exec
Flashed my out-of-date Vodafone ROM with the latest i-mate WWE ROM with the latest radio ROM. The i-mate ROM is quite handy as it sets up the GPRS and MMS settings for you after a fresh flashing. Very stable too!
I am totally agree with ctklcmd.
All ROMs are almost the same.
No speed differences. It depends just for your moods and 3rd party apps using. With stability is the same opinion.
I tried all of ROMs with all of RadioROMs.
Almost - if not totally - the same the last ones.
Differences are usually in extendedRoms.
Biggest help would be another 64MB RAM.
It is the main fuc*ed up thing in Universal.

I tried a lot.. I noticed a difference in
Radio 1.11 - Bluetooth headset seemed to sound better
My MDA is at the shop, so I dont knwo the other ROMs I am using.
I know I mixed and am running the latest T-mobile Extended Rom, but the latest Windows ROM.
What I notice a real difference with are the bundled programs in teh extended ROM.
The current T-Mobile Extended ROM (I Think its the T-mobile one), has Voice Commander that I didnt have in other ROMS. So it can take voice commands to dial which I think is cool, its not overly accurate and in my car I have to almost scream to get it right.. but if your by yourself in the car, screaming the numbers is safer than trying to dial.
Does anyone have a list of which ROMs have which programs?
BTW. while I am at it.. what the heck is Enroller? Does anyone have a list of the useless programs we can safely delete if we unlock the Extended ROM.
I dont want to go messing with the unlocking the ROM and screwing up something to reinstall but I would love to get some programs from some ROMS I have tried and put them in better ROMs.
I.E. I dont want to lose Voice Commander, but know I have only seen it on one or two ROMS. so if I could save it to my computer and reinstall it on a ROM without it that would be great.
Dopod 900... hmmmmm.
Is that an english version? I thought dopod roms are chinese or something like that
ALSO does it have both aku2 and a2dp? is pdf reader included. I am rightnowon the latest qtek rom and was under the impression that on my dutch mda pro I should only install the european roms as they are wwe.
thanx in advance

Just to know.
Pdf reader, voice command utility, enroller... are not in the ExtendedROM but there are shortcuts there for them.
Whole programs are Skype and an antivirus software which are few Megs. Most of the .cab files in the ExtendedROM are just some kB-s. Those cannot be a pdf-reader program or a voice commander which need megabytes. Secondly it is not just "it cannot be" but it is not. I looked in all of the cabfiles. Most of them are just shortcuts and registry values.

Installing Roms
How do I install .nbf files ?
I am sorry if this is a dumb question, really need to upgrade radio and extended rom.
Thanks

How to use o2 Plus plugins on P3300?

I've tried to install O2Plus tools (from Orbit Extended ROM - avaible in xda-developers ftp site) on my Artemis and the installation went well, but at the end a message appeared: "This program is designed for use in Orbit only" -- something like this. And then although I could see the O2 plugins among Today items, after choosing them nothing happened...
Since the Orbit and the Artemis have the same hardware I think O2 stuff doesn't harm Artemis and has some useful features that HTC lacks (profiles, last call indicator, etc.)
Would you, guys so kind to try to modify the cab file in order to make it usable in Artemis too?
I try to attach the cab file here.
Thanks in advance!
cheers
there are o2 plus that have been 'modified' to be used on others. try a search on the forum.

Yes, I know. I have even downloaded one cab (O2 Plus ver. 2.3). But it's double size than the one I attached and - to tell the truth - I would have more confidence in the version that was made especially for Artemis (taken that Artemis = Orbit).
So, the kind request is still valid.
cheers

Noob questions (so many of us)

I've had search on the forums, but have questions i can find the answer to.
I'm a PC tweaker and overclocker. I fancy doing the same with my phone. more out of curiosity then any real need.
MDA Compact 3 (tmobile)
Most used app is tomtom.
I've found the how to bit, and understand the the getting "CID unlocked" then doing the rom flash.
My main questions are.
Once flashed, is there much needed to be done to get it back on the network? ( buggered about on a mobi a while ago and getting it back on the network took ages)
What are the main benefits of upgrading?
I've seen the touchflo demo on youtube and know you can get roms for my phone. what is the best one for my phone/network?
And what the most stable one?
what would be a good rom for some one who install/uninstall lots of app and generally like to poke around, but really only uses it as a phone and gps?
Cheers for any pointers/help
Hi Megabite,
What do you mean with network?
The Network of your telco of your home network?
The best rom for MDA Compact is B&B 4.0 with touch flo.
GPS is working fine
But 4.1 is coming with the latest OS.
And the camera is also fixed. So just wait until released.
The rom is in beta testing
Thanks for the reply.
I meant network as in my telco, as in t-mobile UK.
So just to clarify, touchflow is the user interface that "sits" on windows mobile version 6 (or wm v5) or is it a seperate user interface?
and any date for the realse of 4.1
No, no network problems, you'll just have to run the network wizard to auto configure the gprs internet stuff.
The touchflo cube is just a pretty app that sits on top of the OS - it's ok, but I find the fact that the touchflo driver allows you to scroll up/down in lists and docs a lot more useful.
As far as 4.1 coming out, it comes out when Tom and his testers think its ready - no ETA yet from what I've seen
The Touchflo cube is an interface for accessing some commonly used programs, contacts etc, Touchflo also allows you to scroll using finger movements in other apps, eg internet explorer.
If you do upgrade to a WM6 rom the benefits are a more stable OS & HTML email amongst other things. Tmobile have stated that they will not be releasing a WM6 ROM for the MDA C3 so if you do want to upgrade you will have to use another carriers rom or a cooked rom. There are 2 official roms available, O2 UK and Dopod SEA, both are WWE (English). I use Tom's B&B v4.0 rom as it looks and feels the best and doesn't have any operator rubbish in it. In order to upgrade your rom to WM6 you will first need to CID (Carrier ID) unlock it as you have already discovered.
It is very easy to put the tmobile uk settings back in, there are plenty of cab files in this forum or the settings can be found on the web. If you really can't find them I have a cab file somewhere I can send you.
Regarding a release date for Toms B&B v4.1, Tom produces these roms as a hobby not a job, therefore you won't get a release date, just the rom when it is ready!
