GPS program for Malaysia Map? - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

hello, is there any good gps program for Malaysia Map? Heard of Tom Tom but I don't think they have Malaysia Map. Thanks!

The best maps for Malaysia is found in Malsingmaps.com. They twig the Garmin Que program and with the use of gpsproxy to enable the use of these maps. The map details are outstandingly accurate and up to date. And this is the best part.....they are all FREE!

hello epicurean, i wonder how this works? is it a program that install on the pda? i've seen the website but hav no idea how it works...

Both Garmin Que and gpsproxy are programs to be installed into your PPC.
The entire guide is in a stickie here:

Register as a member so that you can gain access to the download areas where all the maps are. Naturally these maps can also be used in Garmin devices(if you have one).

GPS Software recommendation.

Currently I'm using Mapking2007 G10.
I'll be going to San Fran in about a few days time and will be touring around California and Driving to Grand Canyon. So I was wondering what software would you suggest me getting?
I have a Dopod 838 pro and a Holux GPSlim 240 (Which btw, is damn good).
So i was wondering what software should i get?
I was reading up on tomtom and it seems like a good bet. Anyone got any ideas?
I'm on WM6, a modified version of vp3G's rom 2.0.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thank you.
First Choice -> TomTom : TomTom ties to your device for licensing
Second Choice -> IGuidance : v3 doesn't tie to the device, but v4 due out soon will also be like TomTom from what I hear in terms of licensing
Best place to get GPS stuff -> www.semsons.com
tomtom is my choice
I hAVE TOMTOM Navigator 6 on my 8525 using the bt-359 gps reciever from cingular. It is working wonderful . Also have the option of having Mr. T or Autin Powers or Ozzy to direct me. Colors and size of road images are very clearly read.
I use iGuidance and it works very well for me...
Thank you very much for your suggestions. However, How do i know if my Holux GPSlim 240 will be able to use TOMTOM? Tomtom website says it has to be Nav5 capable. I just sent an email to tomtom asking them if my device would be compatible with their software. Awaiting their reply.
What's the latest version of tomtom?
I use iGO 2006 everyday with Holux GPSlim 236 and nothing can't stop me
Google Mobile Maps
I use Google Mobile Maps, works almost as good as Streets and Trips but it does include all of the US, downside is that you need an active internet connection, Edge seems to work just fine as long as you are not in BFE...
http://www.google.com/gmm from your phone should point you to the download.
I use IGuidance iNav 3 - it works great the San Francisco Bay Area. Voice prompts work fine in WM5, but a little slow in WM6 - but it still works. The maps are wonderfully up to date for the area.
really depends on where you are.
Mapkings are excellent for Asian Maps especially thailand, Malaysia West and East and Singapore.
Tom Tom has the best maps for Australia (Well thats IMHO)
Garmin is ugly 2D looking but is pretty well defined and has alot of POIs that is not found in MapKing and TomTom and is meant for power users because it can do lotsa more than what it says.
Well, you have a dopod 838Pro. Have all 3 GPS installed. I have. And its good because if 1 map doesnt pinpoint the bagger, i still have two more to hunt it down
Happy GPS-ing.
iGO 2006
I-GO 2006
I had them all > TomTom5, TomTom6 iGuidance 3.0 , 3.1 Navigon 5
Mio v3 which is i-go2006.
I would recomend i-go 2006 , make sure you have maps v2007.01 for USA.
I'm a big fan of TomTom. It has helped me many times and I trust it's directions

I´ve got the Holux GPSslim 240 and tomtom 6.0.3 and it works just fine...
iGO 2006 Plus is among the best available in terms of compatibility to any device/OS/screen resolution.
It's security system (aka licensing) is the friendliest out there and bound to the SD, meaning ultimate transparency to the device ID or upgrade OS, so one can use same SD in several devices (not at same time).. very smart !
Check for latest version of NAM maps.
where can i get the whole maps of thailand !
thanks in advance !
hi
Ive been using Mio v3 for the last few weeks and found it very reliable BUT I,ve just changed to TomTom and already i think it just pips it to the post.
regards JPW
been using iG4. it has safely taken me to a 12hr trip to NJ and back home. only thing is it has issues.
i have also used iGO MY WAY PLUS 2006 and its GUI blows iG4's away..
only thing keeping me from being loyal to iGO is it does not have the TTS feature and it does not tell you which side your destination is..

check PM (personal messages... you will have a notification in upper right corner)
usually there's a taster version of TomTom 6 which allows you to download the map of a very small village, so you can test whether gps is working or not. You can download that version at www.tomtom.com (search for tomtom 6.032 cab).
Other gps software (TT7, iGo 2006, iGo 8, Navigon 6/7, Sygic Drive and others) is also available and working on the P3300, but you'd have to find that yourself.

It's a free download, you only need to buy the maps if you don't have them.

Obviously it's a free download, but the program itself also needs some activation code. At least if you'd like to use the internal GPS of X1.
If you don't like to buy Garmin maps, there's a quite nice and legal alternative
Some guys at openstreetmap.org did a very nice job and made some free maps for Garmin devices.
EU and Germany could be downloaded here:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:All_in_one_Garmin_Map
These files work also with Garmin XT (latest version) on X1.
Have a look around in the wiki, if you may find maps for your country.
There are also other nice projects that support the Garmin format, e.g.:
http://openmtbmap.org/

Thx for this usefull answer.... I found a list of countries in the wiki you mentioned:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Mapping_projects#Europe
Now I only have to figure out how to get it to work with Garmin Mobile XT
I'm trying to get them to work too, if I figure it out I'll post how I did it (as I'm sure you will)!
Hi!
In a few words:
The OSM files that have been created need to get converted to Garmin format.
You'll find the tools and description also at the openstreetmap wiki.
At the end you'll get a file named gmapsupp.img
Place this file on your storage card in the Garmin folder.
You'll need a registered copy of Garmin XT to make it work though!

Since warez isnt allowed here , go and search on google for torrents you will find it....

Best GPS Software tou use on a Blackstone with Xannytech's ROMs ?

What is the best* GPS Software that I can use on my Blackstone with Xannytech's ROMs... I have a 1.8 ROM now but i will gonna upgrade it soon...so, what do you suggest me ?
I leave in Roumania, and I need a GPS software that doesn't require an Internet Connection (I have Wi-Fi at home, but that's it)
Thank you all
*Spec. By best I mean, the fastest, the most recent one and the most accurate....
NoniGPSPlot
Not sure what you want to do with your GPS, but try this one:
NoniGPSPlot
http://aeguerre.free.fr/Public/PocketPC/NoniGPSPlot/EN/index.php
The program looks a bit out-dated, but it's the best I've seen so far. It is used to draw (plot) your track on a map, which can be exported to kml for use in Google Earth for instance.
For you this might be a good choice, the developer made a program to download the road or satellite-maps to your PC, to use the maps offline on your mobile. Might be what you're looking for.
Don't hesitate to buy the full version, it's totally worth it
Igo8 is the best for Romania,no need wifi or gprs, only gps connection,or try Navigon 7.3.Me: Xannitech's 1.9 and Igo8 Adrianx package.
Igo 8 e cel mai bun pentru Romania si harta cea m-ai completa,nu ai nevoie de internet sau Navigon 7.3.Eu folosesc rom Xannytech's 1.9 si Igo8 pachetu Adrianx
TomTom has been my go-to GPS for all ROMs. It does a great job with out frying your devices memory.

Best GPS software for HTC P3600???

Hi everyone.
I'm new to this forum. I've been searching the forum for the best GPS software available for my HTC P3600 but i can only find posts dating back to 2008. I would like to find recent software. Can someone help me out?
P.s - I'm running WM 6.5
Thanks a lot
It depends on what GPS use you have in mind.
If it's for navigation in a car i would recommend TomTom, i have tried several others but tomtom is still the best, specially regarding the accuracy of the navigation, which is the most important.
Yes, the use is for navigation. Thanks a lot.. i'll look in to it.
Navitel
I am Newbie here....
But I have try several GPS Software for My P3600. Finally I use Navitel for my P3600 (it has more detail map for my country, I am Indonesian). May you can try it too (sorry for my bad english )
For other country may the other GPS Software has better detail map....
i'm using garmin mobile
For turn by turn navigation and points of interest addons tomtom is the best.
But it is nice to have google maps installed when you need an aerial satellite overview of the area.

I agree, also google does a better job of finding POI's when needed. there are a few occasions when TomTom just can't find something.
I have Nav N GO iGO 8
Best is the one with best maps for your country.
In my case - Serbia is best with iGO or Garmin, but I prefer iGO...
in IGO 8 you haven`t problem with low memory?
