hi just got my new xda exec and i cant get the activesync disc to load on pc, it keeps coming up with a instalation error.
also 3.8 wil not work with my eda but works fine with my spv c550.
Any ideas?
still cant get my exec to sync with my pc using 3.8.
Any help ??
You need AS 4.0 or 4.1, search google for a copy

Hi all
Having trouble installing Tomtom 5 on my SPV m2000. I have just upgaded to WM5 and activesync 4. Wen I run the installer for the TT5 application it errors and aborts . tried uninstalling Ativesync 4 including registry entries and tried reinstalling 3.8. Activesync doesn't detect my PDA now, I think I read somewhere that it relates to software in WM5 that requires activesync 4.
anybody any idea's how to get TT5 on my PDA without having to revert back to WM2002se?

Just hard reset my spv m2000 and tried to access files through activ sync, but getting this error "Critical communications services have failed to start, try resetting mobile device, then connect again"
I have do several times!!! I'm using activsync 3.8.

Unable to sync since downgrade to WM2003
I'm having the same issue with my SX66, "Critical communications services have failed to start, try resetting mobile device, then connect again" This started since I upgraded the system ROM only; using mamaich WM5 ver3 patched. There were some issues and I didn't have time to work with the ROM so I downgraded to WM2003 using WM5_mamaich_patched. It is connecting, but it won't sync; from what I can tell when I reinstalled activesync 3.8 from 4.1 it didn't overwrite several of the 4.1 files. I don't know if that is an issue. I have attached a log of the activesync log. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you follow this for Downgrading to WM2003SE..?

Active Sync 4.1 still works for WM2003SE too.. But you do need to be using Service Pack 2 with it..
Would recommend un-installing 3.8, restarting the PC, installing 4.1, deleting any partnerships you have on Active Sync before partnering your device again..

Reinstalled ActiveSync 4.1_WM2005 and patches
I have original downgraded because WM05 start button was so slow but the patches fixed that. ater reinstalling Activesync 4.1 WM05 patches and fixes, it seems to be working ok I will just have use it awhile and see how everything works.

if you get te connection error
Do the following:
Make sure your PPC is switched off when pluggin in
Switch on the PPC - You should get a connection
Dont try upgrade until Active Sync settings have been saved ....
I did it, and the same I get CONNECTION ERROR

The Activesync works fine, is green and moving, when It will stop I will Run the UPgrade, but I will always get "CONNECTION ERROR"
Are You using ActiveSync 4.1
On my USb 1.1 machine I always battle to do upgrades
on my USB 2.0 Machine everything works 100%
Put the Exec in bootloader first:
Power button + Backlight + reset:
Have fun with the upgrade .

I am trying to connect TV at the internet (That work fine in WM5) using IE that open the windows media it stay a lot of time in Locating mode then I am getting error An unknown error 0X80072AF9 has accurred

try cleaning your cookies and history. this works for me.

Hi everyone,
i tried to upgrade my MDA III Compact to WM6 (old = WM5) today. I downloaded the original T-mobile file RUU_Artemis_TMO_DE_3.15.111.2_4.1.13.50_03.06.90_Ship.
ActiveSync 4.5 is active, MDA connected, i begin the upgrade and the MDA just turn off, reboots with a white screen and the application stops with the notice - device not connected, error 260 -
I also tried Artemis USPL which worked half the way, the romupdateutil stopped the same way right after the dos-box was done...
While im trying to find out the problem, anyone can help?

found the problem :
Remove microSD / SDHC Cards if already insert and use ActiveSync 4.2 for the update cause 4.5 doesnt seem to work until WM6 is installed.
