Is there currently any upgrades for pocket office (pocket word, pocket excel) to mobile(excel mobile, word mobile, powerpoint mobile) for WM2003SE..
Would be grateful if someone could point me that direction..
Thanks.
If you're looking for decent word processing and spreadsheet software for the PPC, try TextMaker and PlanMaker from SoftMaker, they are both excellent and vastly superior to the M$ 'products'.

Hi bennie,
sorry to say, but this is a known bug and long time problem of Windows Mobile.
When syncing Office documents (Word, Excel), those docs get converted from Office (on your PC) to Pocket Office and thereby loose different features (loosing formatting, linked text, graphics etc. in Word, complex formulas, etc. in Excel).
So sad but true, this is a "normal" behaviour in Pocket Word and Pocket Excel.
It's said that this is corrected in upcoming Windows Mobile 2005 (Magneto), but as I didn't have the chance to check this until yet, I hardly believe it... :?

Hi,
Having a problem with my Excalibur T-Mobile Dash. When I run office mobile word excel or powerpoint happens nothing...only folders come. I tried to install office mobile 5 and also 6 got in this forum but the error comes like "can't open...... " etc etc. I upgraded and downgraded between Windows MObile 6 and 5. But no result. I can't use either word or excel or prpnt.
Please help
If memory serves, Office Mobile v6 only allows you to OPEN Word, Excel, or PPT files and, in my experience, not all of them successfully opened. Office Mobile 6.1 lets you CREATE new Word, Excel or PPT files as well as open them (and, once again, that open thing is spotty).
Office Mobile 6.1 came with my Kavana wm6.1 ROM.

yea to create docs you actually have to import a blank one from your pc and then on the phone modify and save that....
I have a very serious reguest to ask of all the good programmers and chefs on XDA site.
I am what you would call a power user of my Hermes aswell as my PC and am always looking for the best and easy to use apps for my PDA. One of the apps I would love to use more is my windows mobile office package but due to the lack of integraty between PC office and PDA office I refrain from using my PDA office. Examples is the lack of formulas in PDA office in compareson to PC office. I have searched the web for better office Apps but the cost a fortune, Example is SoftMakers Office... approx 66 Pounds.
Is there anyone who could help me and other Office users by programming a more transparent office for PDA?
And does anyone know if there are programs like GNU Octave that can be run on PPC since I am an engineering student and would love to have these tools in my pocket.
Any help in to this respect would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. I would like to thank all the people whoe have allready made my PDA experience enjoyable, My favourate roms : CRC, TNT(although it has been discontinued, Josh Manila ect... Thank you all very much
Matlab
Well I dunno about Office or Octave but there's a great "Matlab Clone" for the PPC called LME for Pocket PC, just Google it, there's no miss. I love Matlab and this great program works just as well, it has most of the functions you need when help is needed. Hope it helps!

Thanx alot, I will do so. Just for interest sake. Google Smath Studio. It is a graphing calc 2D and 3D, and you can do some programing on it, but only "if, while for " commands.
I agree that pocket office is incomplete. I wish pocket excell would do all the formulas just like the desktop version. I got spoiled using a palm pilot for years, it did all the formulas.
This request, though, might be better heard in the dev/hacking forum.

Anyone come up with a way to do this? I've tried various CABs from this forum to map Fn+T to Tab, but they just insert a few spaces after the bullet. I'd like to be able to create multi-level lists. I know they're supported because they can be viewed when synced from the desktop, but does anyone know a way to create them in PowerPoint or OneNote Mobile?
Thanks
If it matters, I have the Verizon TP2 in the US.
Any decent Office Apps for the Desire that anyone can recommend please?
Just need Spreadsheet and Word Processing apps.
I went for Documents To Go (they're having a sale at the moment so it works out at $9.99 / £6.50 - usual price $19.99 / £13.00)
It's got Word, Excel and Powerpoint editing and PDF creation. It can view and edit the latest Office 2007 docs also.
Is it better than Quickoffice, and the bundled PDF reader which come standard on the Desire? They're both pretty dire having come from WinMo and my HD2...
S'ok bought Doc 2 Go it was £14.99 through the marketplace.
Very good program. I to come from a Winmo background and was missing the Office apps on those devices. This is a good replacement imho.
