Thanks a lot! I think I only need a touchscreen replacement! Is that website from Uk or US? Cheers!

its from the US, as the price is in US dollars, the price of the replacement touch screen says $105, which i think is about £65 uk.

Dopod 818 pro Compatible touch screen?

hello all, i just want to know what other model touch screen can be use to replace dopod 818 pro touch screen. As what i can see, o2 mini looks quite same, so can it be use? or is there any other model that u all can suggest to use? hopely for a reply from all members... thanks in advance
Yes the lcd is the same as the o2 mini.
Hello,
I can offer spare parts for Prophet repairs.
The Prophet is sold under many different brand names, and the screens from each brand are often interchangeable. The same screen is also used in a number of other phones.
The Prophet (and the same model sold under different brand names) has been made with two different LCD screens. You must be sure that you are buying the correct screen for your particular model.
To find which screen you need, you must take your phone apart and look at the flexible plastic strip that connects the LCD to the motherboard. It will be either a GOLD color or BLACK. You can only replace the LCD screen with a screen that has the same color connection.
If you let me know what color your connection is, I can give you a quote on a replacement screen.
More information about touch screen:
There are two parts to the "screen" that you seeon your device. There is the LCD screen, and there is a touch screen. Pictures are attached below.
If your touch screen is cracked but the LCD is still working fine, then you only need to replace the touch screen, and it is much cheaper. The LCD screen is obviously more expensive.
Hope this helps.

Hi there,
I have replacement parts for prophets (actually, for almost every pda or cell phone).
The replacement LCD screen for prophets is US $80.
The replacement TOUCH SCREEN for prophets is US $5.
See my post above .... if your LCD screen works, but the touch screen is cracked, it's quite cheap. If your LCD needs to be replaced, it's quite expensive.
If you would like to place an order, please send me a private message (PM) with your email address.
My website is coming soon ... I'll post here when it's ready.

Cracked screen problem

Ok, here is my problem... And I will try to get pics tomorrow. But, I have a cracked screen, sort of... Definite crack... Touch Screen works perfectly... LCD is not damaged... What part of the phone is cracked? And can I get this replaced without paying the $100 deductible?
it is your digitizer and depends on the carrier..if you have tMo go luck...all others you can buy the digitizer but installation is a whole other ball of wax. you best know what you are doing to swap it. you can buy the digitizer on fleabay for about 35 bucks
how can it be the digitizer???? his touch screen works! I have no idea what is cracked if both the display and touch screen works
Rick
post up some pics?

After Go-Karting, my screen is wonky!

I had my phone in my pocket while go-karting. After that, my phone has splotches on the screen that is blue when the rest of the screen is white, and red when the rest of the screen is black.
why?
Need a new screen. http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-general-discussion/41417-dropped-my-x.html
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
I was afraid of that. But thx for the link! I was just wondering, what is a digitizer and how do I know if mine is broken?
The digitizer is a thin layer that detects your touch. That is usually together with the glass. So if you have cracked glass then you will have a cracked digitizer as well (usually). And replacing the LCD isn't that difficult. So basically if you can still select stuff on the screen your digitizer is fine.
Thx for the explanation. There are no cracks or anything, just discoloration.
I guess my digitizer works fine. It's just my AMOLED or lcd or w.e screen is crapping out.
Where can I buy a new screen?

I got mine on eBay, for I think about $40. If you want it to come faster make sure you buy from Canadia or the US. It takes a while to get here from Hong Kong.

HTC One X fell...

I need an advice, my phone just fell out of my palm and it's screen is completely shattered. The touch screen is fully functional but the screen shows orange-ish dots. Is the the LCD or the broken glass just presses it?
Screen repair here costs ~500 bucks, which I ofcourse refuse to pay.
TL;DR:
What should I order to fix it myself , and is it worth it?
(LCD + touch screen? )
Also, if I order the OEM one.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Original-OE...872?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f1ae6a558
will it be the original LCD2 the HOX has?

· 110% Brand New (In the ebay advert)! THAT MADE ME CHUCKLE !!
I would ask the ebayer, not us about the LCD2 screen
And if I was you, I wouldn't even bother going anywhere near repairing it yourself, unless you have experience. They are so complex its unreal.
Good luck !
Another question, when my iPod touch cracked I tried to replace the glass... it didn't turn out well. I only ordered the digitizer , at the end it was attached to the LCD.
Anyone knows if it's the same with the HOX? Really can't afford a 500$ repair now.

yeah they are attached normally, hox, the glass is attached to the screen.
my dhd when smashed, was declared beyond economical repair.
its only really if the screen isn't smashed too badly that you might be able to warm it up enough to loosen the glue, but you'll probably damage the lcd itself in the process. and then you'll probably bugger up re attaching the new glass. even htc buggered it up with the yellow spots etc on lots of the early models
you're better off getting the whole screen with glass. it will be fiddly, but there are a few teardown guides for hox, and if you research this enough, and make sure you have the right tools for the job, it should be fine.
if i was in your situation, i would try it .. but i would make a million % sure that the screen i was buying was a genuine screen.

Pixel 2 XL screen repair (HELP!)

Hi all. I've had un unfortunate phone drop last night, resulting in the glass of the screen broken in the lower left corner. The screen is displaying perfect and so the digitizer. I've seen some sellers on amazon selling the glass only with no digitizer nor display. Can anyone let me know if this can be changed (glass of the screen only), and if so, any tutorials or videos to do so?
I really dont want to spend more than $100 on a new screen...
I hope someone helps! Thanks!!! Cheers.

I dropped my Pixel 2 XL in November, also only the glass was broken.
But I paid €180 for the glass plus screen, because the screen is razor-thin and glued to the glass. As far as I know, the glass isn't sold separately, at least not as original from Google.
And believe me, the glass is very thin, but the screen is even thinner. So before buying a third-party-glass, I would check how to get the screen off the glass and back again.
I've been looking for some videos about this, and it looks really complicated to separate the glass from the screen, but possible. Some guys apply extreme cold or heat to unglue the screen, then they clean up ALL the screen, and then they reapply something to stick it to the new glass (I don't know what they use). So balancing the hard work to do this, I'm starting to think it will be a better option to change the whole screen. Do anyone knows if new purchased genuine screens comes with the blue problem solved? Any good place to purchase a genuine one within USA?
Thanks for the answers and help...
