MDA 3 - Sorry! Bluetooth license is expired - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Have been trying to resolve this (Bluetooth license is expired) problem but nothing seems to work. Currently have BT version 1.0.0.3900 loaded. I cannot use bluetooth as this license expired error message keeps on comming up then closed the turns bluetooth off. Please help..[/b]

have you tried a hard reset of your device, ????
if you havent, and you do try it, make sure you backup all your files!!!
8)

I have tried hard reset including installing the ROM and reverting to old BT and current but no luck. The blutooth originally worked for about 1 month and then this problem occured. I think I need a FIX for the licence issue. Please help someone!!!

edo you mean you tried to reinstall the rom you had??, or have you tried to upgrade/downgrade the rom??? surely, changing the rom should help the BT problem. :?

The rom version I have is 1.06.00. I upgraded to this ROM from the one that was installed by T-Mobile. After upgrading the bluetooth worked fine but stopped after a few months. The radio version I currently have is the 1.00.00. I have installed the new radio updates to see if it makes any difference but it has not worked. I am surprised that I have not seen this problem with anyone else??? Anyone out there who have resolved this problem get in touch...

blueangel bluetooth licence expired
Currently have BT version 1.0.0.3900 loaded, I have tried hard reset, can someone edit the registry to an open ended licence? (like cracking 14 day trial period programs) the BA works fine in every way but without bt, i cannot travel, (car headset or tomtom) dont really want to muck about with roms etc unless it includes a really succesful and stable bt. or is it a BA standard fault?
help?

Thanks
Radio 1.08.00
Radio 1.08.00 seems to be for the Himalaya?
yep ! definetely for a himalaya !
I'm halfway through upgrading mine... maybe I should have checked the new posts in here before I started... :? I'll let you know how it turns out!
I had the Country ID error and ran it again. Worked second time.
I guess I can always reflash back to 1.06.00 if it all goes tits up!
EDIT: Presumably if it's for the Himalaya then WiFi connectivity will be broken once I've done it, since the Himalaya doesn't support WiFi. 30% done. I'll report back soon...

Please let us know, so we could possible proceed as well.
im 88% through flashing, figured wtf 1.06 can go on again
Okay, I've done the upgrade and when I did a soft-reset my machine said
Radio 1.08.00
Protocol 42.41.P8
And I have connected to my wireless network at home and have successfully browsed to the bbc.co.uk homepage, so WiFi works.
I haven't put a SIM in my device yet (still using my old phone).
Why do you guys think it's for the Himalaya?
well it seems to work a treat chaps,
wifi connectec quicker im sure, not long enough for a thorough check but its working!!!
oops i forgot to remove the sd and sim, ahhwell, flashed first time, phew
Okay guys, here's what I've found so far:
WiFi works - connected to my home network and browsed
Bluetooth works - ran TomTom and got a fix
Phone works - Made a few phone calls.
AND... When I rang the Exec it indicated an incoming call the INSTANT I got a dial tone on the house phone and there was no delay before we could hear each other!
This looks like the real deal!
im sure this thing is running alot smoother aswell, so far 1.08 on the Universal is a green light, i dunno where this hymilaya thing has come from, but on buzz's site its in the universal section
Yeah I agree Carnivor. It looks very promising so far and all of the functions appear to work at least as well as before.
Just been syncing successfully with Exchange over WiFi.
Obviously if it starts crashing we'll report back, but nothing bad so far!
About wifi, did you have the need to turn on twice to connect, and is it solved with this radio? Ie: Some universal user can turn on wifi the first time, but if you turn it off (using the pocket pc menu, not by turning off the power), and you turn on again, it won't connect. You would have to turn off then on to connect.
i upgraded to my Jasjar and all went alright until I reset at the end and it want boot past the blue i-mate screen, I have even hard reset and still nothing.
Any help please.....
Or does anyone know how to put old radio or Rom on as it will not boot up so I can't use activesync

I have tried doing an upgrade while in the screen where you hard reset it and still nothing, it just sits at the blue boot up screen

Just reset the device normally and plug in the USB cable.
ActiveSync won't connect, but it will be connected to your PC. Just run the T-Mobile ROM Update program then and everything should be fine
If you still want to upgrade to Radio ROM 1.08.00, then try the tutorial I wrote here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=40986
Just follow all the steps for the radio ROM, and in the end throw away the non-radio ROM files before flashing
I'm using this method right now on my Dutch T-Mobile MDA Pro as I also had trouble with the NoID tool
Thanks for helping me.
You said use the T-Mobile Rom, I have a i-Mate Jasjar, is the T-Mobile Rom the only Rom that will fix this problem?

Err, sorry, my bad
I thought you had a T-Mobile logo in your name
No, if you have an I-Mate, use an original I-Mate ROM instead of the T-Mobile one
EDIT:
Actual feedback on this Radio ROM:
the GPRS refused to log in, somehow, although I'm not quite sure this is a problem with the ROM. I'll downgrade to 1.06.00 later and see if the problem persists.
Everything else seems to work just fine
Upgrade Radio 1.08.00
I just upgraded my Universal (OS: TMo 1.20.34) with Radio 1.08.
Everything running like a charm.
Cheers

INSUFFICIENT DRIVER MEMORY PROBLEM !!! HELP NEEDED

Hi,
I have just purchased an O2 XDA IIs PDA / Mobile Phone. It works fine (after removing the O2 Active thingy). The only problem is that when I try to switch on BlueTooth (or try accessing BlueTooth Manager) i get the following message:
Bluetooth Radio failed to turn ON due to insufficient driver memory available. You must perform a normal reset before you can turn ON the Bluetooth Radio

I did a normal reset a couple of time but no success. Any help? and any idea what the driver memory is??
Please try not to double post.
V
You're right sorry, but I just spent a fortune for this PDA and I'm quite disappointed about this and trying to get some help asap
apologies again
Have you tried doing a hard reset? Also have you updated to the most current BT driver (1.3900 if i remember correctly)
Hello,
i've got the same error :

I did serveral resets, but it still doesnot work.
I use the Broadcom Bleutooth 1.7.1 version. I disabled the MS BT stack and I changed the registery by importing the platform.reg file.
So, what went wrong and who can offer me an helping hand,
Thanks
I did the hard reset and also updated to v3900 but still no luck.
I am thinking of upgrading the ROM now but I'm afraid it will lock the phone, so I am trying to find a way to unlock it first so that I'm prepared for the worst

Hi - Have you had any luck - I am having same crap....
Thanks!
Michael
Read the wiki - it tells you how to unlock the phone for free.
What ROM are you using currently?

Has anyone figured out why gprs settings & exchange password are disappearing??

Has anyone figured out why gprs settings & exchange password are disappearing everytime you do a soft reset!!!!!! I flashed to the Dopod new SEA rom from the official HTC 1.23 for Europe. Is there a trick to stop it from disappearing after soft reset or the rom is bogus??
Gilbert
PS: I am writing from the trinity so I apologize if this topic was discussed
its not happening to me!
I am not sure if anyone else is experiencing this but I also seem to have hard-spl 1.07ds and the 3.03 that came with the dopod rom installed in my bootloader. how I know? well if I try to downgrade to the official htc 1.23, I get the 1.07ds in the bootloader and it fails, the I try to reinstall the new dopod wm6 and it works. I have super cided device & I can write to my extended rom. could this be the reason my gprs username and password and my exchange password keep disappearing afTer a soft reset? I made a hard resetusing the two buttons to get it to factory specs & it is still doing it. I have no installed programs.
i don't believe 1.07 is hard-spl, and i don't think you can actually have two spl's on there at the same time. I think one is just being overwritten by the other.
thanks for the clarification. however why in God's name am I losing my connection settings and exchange password everytime I soft reset when I have no programs installed or previously installed cooked roms. I remember the Dopod ANZ version might have had something like this and maybe dopod pulled the rom and promised to put another one in few days. I could be wrong about that.
thanks,
gilbert
I'm also experiencing the same problem and I couldn't find a solution for it.
Have you done a hard-reset after flashing?

Just discovering the flashing thing, so I'm not expert, but as far as I understand 1.07ds is not a hard-spl, but one that is pushed onto the phone by the update utility. To know what "resident" bootloader is on the phone, U need to enter the bootloader mode by pressing power+camera button plus doing a soft-reset.
Furthermore, to avoid installation of another bootloader (like the 3.03), I installed an hard-spl (olipro 1.30) and I put the phone into bootloader mode manually prior to flashing. Otherwise, the udate utility pushes the SPL 1.07ds which does not prevent the installation of the new 3.03 bootloader.
If you have the 3.03 on your device and want to downgrade, have a look at http://trinityguides.info at the Dopod WM6 Guide.
As to the disappearing Exchange password, I do not experience this pb.
Bye
yes, it is happening to me also on SEA version.
to be honest I was not overly impressed with the official SEA version so went back to AX3L's great ROM.
as for why the exchange and GPRS settings get lost, the only thing I seem to see is that it is if I installed or uninstalled some app that needed a reboot. it was not one particular app but I seemed to see the problem after installing / uninstalling themes and the kaiser home plug.
have you done any of these and seen the issue?

My pop3 account was gone after my FIRST flash with WM6 and install of the Kaiser home plugin. But then I did a hard reset, flash WM6 SEA again, and again hard reset. No problems at all anymore... Thats why I stated the hard reset
after hours of playing with the my bloody machine, i seem to have pinpointed the bloody problem. it is the new windows messenger doing all this crap. I am not sure how as I did not go through the codes but when I don't set up windows messenger and merge the contacts with the device, even if i do a thousand soft reset, the connection to the gprs automatically comes on and my exchange syncs no problem. but when you set up messenger with the device, you start getting the same crap of disappearing gprs settings and exchange password!!!

Me too.SEA version
What a total pain! Guess I'll stick with just the radio upgrade for now then.
I was going to suggest that if things seem funky after a ROM flash it is always worth trying a re-flash in case something just went a little awry first time around. But the fact others have found the same issue seems to clearly warn that this is not a one off misfortune.
Many thanks for letting everyone know... and good luck with straightening it out.
different experience
I had lost my Exchange passward and the Cingular GPRS setting info a couple of times, but after my back up today, I lost all the settings to the point that I couldn't even connect to Wi-Fi. I hadn't done a hard reset after my flash, so I am doing that now. I never set up Messenger, so I can't imagine how that could be the problem.
Would that be the same problem as the device password that some others were screaming in other threads about wrong device password?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=317841
I would guess that there's a credential database WM uses to store usernames and passwords, just like your desktop windows OS, and it either got corrupted on the memory or failed to write back to the filesystem after resetting the device.
The result would then be lost passwords, including device passwords, gprs, exchange, mails, wifi...
I have the ANZ official ROM and see the following problems (which I reported a while ago)
1) GPRS password occasionally gets blanked.
2) WEP password lost occasionally
3) Windows Live password lost occasionally .
I can't figure out what causes it- I rarely soft reset, preferring to turn off.
The biggest PITA is that my device code changed, which means I cannot use TT traffic until I get a letter from HTC.
Hmm, i'm suffering this problem also. It is mentioned in one of the various topics of the WM6 - Roms but really donĂ½ know where anymore. Anyone knows if this is possible to tackle?
Thanx!

It's not the solution I guess.
I use Prophet, but this is only topic of it.
I can't make a new account, it sais 'Name exists'. But it isn't showing up, and can't find it in the registry ...
Any ideas were to remove the old ones?
No problems for a while
I followed some guidance after having the problems, and for a good many weeks it's been fine (maybe over a month).
I set all the passwords (web, WIFI) and BT pairing.
Then I turned the device off with the power buton (NOT soft reset).
SInce then, it has all stuck.

Cingular 8125

I tried connecting a new handsfree after which the mic was not working tried reloading the ROM and problem persists. hence gave it to the service centre for repairing. The problem is still more worse now. im not able to get any signal nor mic is not working. I also tried connecting via USB and its not recognising. however when connected via USB its getting charged. Any help is much appreciated.
I need to downgrde the ROM to WM5.
NOTE: this mobile has WM6 now.

then downgrade it's the same way as one upgrade
Hi
My Active sync is not able to recognise the device.
Please Help..

Change modified IIs back to original ROM

Hi,
I've upgraded my XDA IIs a few times now and am currently using WM6 (ROM version 5.60.00 WWE) having followed the instructions on this website. I am beginning to get various errors and crashed on my device so I thought I would revert to the original manufacturers ROM (o2 - WM2003 - UK).
I went to their website and downloaded the ROM but when I tried to load the ROM back onto my device I received an error telling me that the ROM I was loading on to my device was from a different country/region than the one currently on my device and the installation had to stop.
I am assuming that somewhere in the uprading of my device (which I understand was completely at my own risk) the country of origin or location of the device/ROM has changed or has been replaced by one from a different location/region or one that has no defined location or region.
My biggest problem with the WM6 ROM is that my BlueTooth GPS device doesn't seem to work with the TomTom software anymore. TomTom can identify my GPS device but doesn't track any satellite, therefore it's pretty pointless. My Radio version is 1.12.00, all my COM ports are configured correctly as is my Baud rate. My TomTom version is 6.010.
Everything used to work perfectly with the WM2003 ROM and if I can't revert back or solve my problem then I may just bin it. Before that though I will try another BlueTooth GPS device... just incase!
Cheers.
Maybe you can try the latest ROM WM6.5 21189 before you revert back to wm20003. You can find all the stock ROMs in our FTP or you can xplode he got everything.
i had the same problem when going back to wm2003se for storage resizing purposes. as the roms published here are WWE roms, for your first upgrade you need to use Maupgrade_noID.exe and put the device into bootloader mode, for reverting you have to do the same. in my case, the german MDA3 rom aldo declined country error (WWE) and then even "this rom is not designed for your device", since uit identified as blueangels, where german devices are heavily branded and for the official update need to indentify as MDAs.
so just do the same as in upgrading:
1. Bootloader
2. MAupgrade_noID
and you will have no problem. it is just a matter of the carrier protecting their customers from bricking their devices, if they are unexperienced and maybe really picked the wrong device's rom or people from other countries try and steal their branded roms (yeah, like that's ever gonna happen!).
EDIT: I just saw the reason for going back is a bluetooth problem. I will think about it and repost here, maybe that is solvable without going back, because wm6.x is so nice, nobody should use 2003 anymore
Thanks for your replies.
I think I will try the WM6.5 first as you're quite right that WM2003 is not very nice at all!
I want to revert my pc
to Windows 95....
the first i think in... was the compatibility on apps.
It was just a little sarcasm.
OK, got an update on my bluetooth problem...
WM6.5 installed no problem, looks good and seems to be a bit quicker and smoother. Also, it gives more information in the bluetooth connections list than WM6 did as to what the status is of my bluetooth devices.
My device lists my bluetooth GPS as "paired" but "not connected". When I try to connect I get an error saying "Your device did not connect with BN909GR. The connection failed or the passcode is incorrect."
It looks more and more like it's my bluetooth GPS receiver which is knackered.
Have you tried pairing the GPS with another device? I assume it should pair with any device, ie another phone etc?
Hi,
Yes, I can pair my bluetooth receiver with ordinary mobile phones. I cannot test its functionality though as neither of the phones I have available to pair it with have any soft ware which uses the GPS receiver.
I haven't yet got hold of another Bluetooth GPS receiver to try with my BA...
