I am wondering if the type of the SD card will affect the speed of the programs running on SX66 with WM 5, any views?
Secondly, If I need to change theSD card to 2GB in future, do I need to install WM 5 again?

Hi,
Is it possible to format the micro-sd card without taking it out of the Orbit?. Currently I put into my PC and then format which is a pain due to the location of the card within the Orbit.
Rob.
format with help of Pocket Mechanic
You can format it with the help of Pocket Mechanic. It will do a god job but it just take quite a bit of time since the Artemis is much slower than the PC.
Anyone know which format works best in the Artemis. I mean FAT16 or FAT32. Also best cluster size.
I know the theory but the speed really depends on the device more than anything else and what it prefers.
At the moment my Sandisk Ultra II is FAT16 and performs ok.
Anyone else have an opinion?

I followed this and partitioned my card, mainly as TOMTOM seemed to have to be in the root of the storage card and I didn't like my stuff being with it as it was messy.
So I now have a 1GB card split as follows 400MB partition (storage card) just for TOMTOM and about 548MB (storage card2) for my stuff.
The main partition need to be the one you use for TOMTOM and 400MB was good for me as I just have the UK maps.

guys i got the tmobile compact 3 and want to put a 4 or 8gb memory card in the phone.
just wondering which is better sd or sdhc, if so do i need any cab etc to run the disk?
also im running wm5
thanks
every SD Card which is bigger than 2GB is a SDHC Card.
And for SDHC Cards you need a patch, that the artemis can read it.
so both 4GB and 8GB are SDHC cards.
The only patch there is to run SDHC on the C-III is for WM6, there is a ROM upgrade that is from T-Mobile for WM6, I have it on my C-III which works fine with its 6GB SDHC card fitted - Mike
After Rom update on M600 to WM 6.1 kozhura the mini SD card turned itself somehow to read only.
Do you know a way to turn it to read / write again ?
Is there any value in the registry which determines whether the SD card is read only or read /write ?
I have i-mate jama p30 ,i have also done micro sd flashing but it always gives error <can,t creatfile whether_update_Bpandcp.txt! > after some working.
i can't understand where em having a mistake if anyone's having a good file then plsssssss upload it. or any new idea
The procedure is simple...
1. Format a memory card (micro sd) using FAT 16, use a card of 512 mb or less and atleast 64 mb since JAMA duznt support 1 Gb cards....
2. Extract the contents of the above mentioned rom to the memory card
3. Remove the simcard, insert the memory card back and then insert the battery
4. It will automatically upgrade, it will take sometime so relax
I install new RUU_Excalibur_WM61_Kavana_080408_WWE and my phone see sd card like it's Bluetooth.
I can't see any file on my card.
Please help.
Have had the same problem using this version... Had to Reformat by going to Start then Accessories and Clear Storage. Haven't used Bluetooth Explore setting since. This version of wm 6.1 will not read my SD Card. SD Card will only show after bluetooth has been activated. ANY SOLUTIONS????
Thanx,
