Have you broken the display screen (i.e. no display now?) or you just have the touch sensor glass broken? I once broken my touch sensor when I dropped my pda on the floor
The touch sensor cost about $12 and the display screen cost about $100 in Indian market. If you have any contact in India, ask him to send you this by courier.
Hello, thank you has to you 2 for the question,
I have to find my screen qtek 9090 on ebay of the series 60H00033-00 I to place them all functions thank you.
Tiny vertical line on LCD
Hallo everyone here - just minute ago unpacked BA (SPV M2000) sold on eBay as 'excellent condition, almost never used PDA' and - bingo!!! - there is a tiny white vertical line on LCD . Seems that touch sensor (screen) works fine... So may i ask for your advice - is it possible to fix it somehow or is it necessary to google for new LCD (and leave NEGATIVE f/back for this dishonest seller)? Thanks for your time reading post and thanks in advance for your valuable answers.

Send it back.. that's NOT excellent condition, you don't have to accept it as the seller's description is at fault. If they give you ANY hassle at all tell them you are lodging a disupte with ebay and paypal (hopefully you paid by paypal).. if you can supply the seller's description from ebay (your confirmation email will have the address of the advert), that should be all the proof you need.
You didn't happen to buy it from ASMDIRECT did you?
I bought my first xda IIs (plus cradle only for £130) from them, under the description of "a few minor pits" and when I got it the screen was SCRAPED! where we would use the onscreen keyboard.. when I returned it for a replacement the cheeky b******s sent it back to me as the replacement.. when I told them it was the same one, they denied it saying that they could prove it wasn't because of the serial numbers THEY had... they only backed down when I told them I was contacting O2 for a copy of the log when I entered the IMEI number in their site for a software upgrade (turns out O2 couldn't supply me with my proof but ASMDIRECT didn't know that).
So I got a refund (minus post and packaging!) and bought another one from UNCLE JAMAL for £135... and it was brand spanking new (not a scratch, despite them saying that it had a few on the battery case), with case cradle, charger headphones, manual and software.. the lot.
(Remeber get your refund/ replacement BEFORE you give -ve f/b, some seller get kinda sticky otherwise... just expect to get -ve f/b from them in return just out of spite.)
There are a lot of cowboys out there.
AND TO THE ORIGINAL POSTER... look here (probably sorted by now as you posted a while ago. )

you'll get a replacement touchscreen there... you'll also find a full lcd replacement should you need one.

Thanks for a swift reply I have contacted seller and will see what will be his answer... But is that a real prob with LCD? Furthermore the screen is matic not crystal clear - like it was glue on it (or is it the leftover of screen protector when removed?) at least there are no scratches on the screen at all...

It's not a problem that I've seen very often.. that kind of damage is caused by a hardware failure not rendering the graphics properly.. it doesn't look like a screen problem.
A good screen is a good screen.. no matter how you look at the situation.
If the screen is matt as opposed to being nice and shiny, then if there isn't already a protector on it, then there was at one point and that's the residue (although when a screen protector is removed the reside (glue) isn't usually uniform on the screen).
Good luck.. keep us posted.
oops. double post.

Maybe someone wants to translate that so everybody could understand?
trying to find parts for my Qtek 1010 and I find it very difficult does this PDA have another technical name? A car charger adaptor for an Ipaq was connected to it although the same connector it is not wired the same so i was tols i killed the mainboard. Is this PDA unrepairable were can i buy a used one?
hope someone can assist my predicament.....Bigdin
the device is also known as
htc Wallaby / O2 Xda / Qtek 1010 / Qtek 1020 / Siemens SX56 / T-Mobile MDA/ Dopod 686
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wallaby
Bigdin,
The XDA I (Qtek 1010) and HP iPAQ 22 pin connectors are definitely wired differently.. But a brief connection of the iPAQ one shouldn't do too much damage.. That said.. The old XDAI mainboards are very cheap now (or grab a unit on eBay with a failed scren and DIY it)..
Last time we grabbed a new mainboard it was around $200 for a fully tested / guaranteed one.
Realistically though, it may be time to upgrade to a good, new / cheap little PDA like the HTC Touch..

Your Qtek's battery is probably in need of a replacement.. then there's the PPC 2002 ROM (or the rather flakey cooked ones around)..
Good luck with the dilemma..

the best way to determine the price for used devices is to look it up on ebay and compare the state of the device to the ones, sold there. i can tell you, that in germany, depending of the state of the device, the prices can vary from about 30-100euros.
hi guys is my first post at the forum although i been following it quite a lot .Recently i broke my lcd screen of my exec (bought it recently and very impresed by it,).The screens as i saw on the internet are quite expensive and then i came at this site that says that fujitsu siemens pocket loox practically has the same screen as the exec.I want to confirm that with you(that i put the screen of the loox at the exec ) plus if the ram of the pocket loox can be placed at the exec (to buy the pocket loox 2nd hand is cheaper than buying just a screen for the exec ) .And if can somebody reccomend other brands that have identical sceen .Thanks
Welcome to forums
Not sure if it will fit to Universal, but if it´s so expensive perhaps it´s better if you buy another Universal, have a look on this section and in marketplace, I saw to members selling their Unis
Good luck,
thanks for your reply that is what i had found at the description of the lcd screen of the site :<ITEM description -Fit for:ACX526AKM-7 LCD Screen( with Touch Screen Digitizer ) for Orange SPV M5000/HTC Universal/ Vodafone v1640 / Vodafone VPA IV/ E-Plus PDA IV/ Grundig GR980/ O2 XDA Exec/ Dopod D900/ Fujitsu-Siemens LOOX 718/ i-mate Jasjar/ Qtek 9000 T-Mobile MDA IV/MDA pro / Fujitsu-Siemens LOOX 720 -OEM and Brand new>
checked the technical data of the screen of the pocket loox 718-720 and it seems identical as the executive (dont know about the memory though)
