hi guys, i want to try the o2 active on WM5.0, i know the chances of it working are quite slim, but hey, im going back to WM2003 tomorrow, so if someone can point me to the right cab file that would be great!!!!

its ok, i found it, tried it, it installed ok, but when it launched the program, it failed and declined the startup.
so thats it, o2 active dont work on BA wm5.0
maybe when the o2 exec is released, someone could get the rom from it and get the cab file for that, im willing to try it on my BA

I've got wm5 on my ba now, but it appears that there isnt even an extended rom, so autoconfig.exe isnt even there...
ah bummer!

or does it need a recompile to support winmob 5.0 from the author??

I used the old setting CAB file with the old trick \2577. It work nicely on WM5.

Im really new to all this pda stuff
I have a t-mobile MDA compact.
But have an o2 Simcard.
The sim works on the mda, so its obviously unlocked.
I have done that hard reset , then reset trick so none of t-mobiles programs are loaded.
But if I add a new connection for o2 payandgo UK settings, It wont let me connect to the internet.
Ive been told I need to download:
O2Mini_WWE_1.11.922.zip
Which I have!
But have no idea what files to download to my mda, to completely turn it to an o2

but it didn’t work , i copied the files to my sd card
and it says ‘auto run’ is not a valid pocket pc application
and when I click on any other file
it says: not a valid windows CE setup file.

hey guys after messing around with WM5 i am back to 2003SE but as i have an XDAIIs here in Australia from O2 I have lost all the defualt programs that came with the device when i bort it i downloaded the new rom/upgrade for the device from O2 but still no joy can anyone tell me what rom i should use to get all the defualt O2 stuff for my Australian O2 XDAIIs?

P.S i really dot want to reload every program so if i cant get the installs from the default upgrade/instal is there a cab file that will give me all the thing that came with it/instaled from the shop?

Look messed around does not help us much as in was that a large messed around or just a tiny one.
You want help but give us nothing to go by.
If you were on WM5 then you might have removed your ext_rom to gain more ram.
If you went back to 2003 then you might have tried to install the ext rom onto the removed size of that ext rom.
But hell how would I know what you did.
Fact is the default 02 files are in the ext rom
Fact is if you dont have them then you have not installed a extrom.

Planning to reflash my Artemis as it's a little slow and newer ROMS have come out since I last did it, however can anyone point me at the Tomtom cab file? I've got a legal version with the CD and everything but seem to remember last time I had a tricky job getting the latest version for the Artemis...

When I'm trying to download a .cab-file with IE in the latest official 6.5 release the downloadmanager renames the extension to .TSK.
The file http://www.cabxpress.mobi/CabXpressInstall.CAB is NOT a .TSK-file.
Anyone encountered this? Is there an solution for this behavior?
I have the TP2 with the european WWE WM6.5 Rom
In IE it works fine: The .cab file is saved as a .cab file.
But when I try the same in Opera, it crashes, and windows wants to send an error report.
Strange...
I got 6.5 swedish version and have the same problem with tsk renaming, I have to rename the downloaded file afterswards in total commander to .cab , then I can install it.
Oh, forgot to mention the ROM I upgraded to....
I'm using the official WinMo 6.5 Swedish ROM aswell!

As I said before you can solve the problem with installing software, download the "*.tsk" and rename it to "*.cab" and install it as usual.
But of course it does not solve the main issue, I am also looking for a real solution to this...
