Hi guys,
I have a question about the text messages (SMS). When you receive an SMS, it will show you the date when the SMS was received but it DOES NOT show you what time the SMS was received. Is there ANY way to turn this on?
So besides the date, I also want to know on what time I receive my SMS messages.

It shows me the date AND the time on mine, I don't know why it doesn't on your device.
Where does it show the time then? All I see is:
- Name
- Text itself
- Date
- Size of message in Kb
Perhaps my version on WM6 is a bit messed up. You prolly have to Official WM6?
On the list view the time is not displayed, but when you open the individual messages it is.
(Official WM6 ROM)
noticed the side bar? it has extra space going up, when you push the dpad upward it shows the details. maybe they thought it would save some space, because no everybody wants to see the full detail. But I agree with you, its nice to see the date and time, so just scroll upward and you'll see it.

Hi there,i'm looking for a solution about an sms bug i have noticed on my P3600(udk 3.0 ITA WM6 FE)
When i receive an sms and i go to my sms list i see that the system orders them according the time/date of the sender and not the time/date of my p3600.
That means that if i receive an sms now from my girlfriend who lives in Australia(8hours time difference from Italy where i live)and then i receive other sms from my contacts from Italy, the list shows first the "australian" sms and then the "italian" ones!
Is there any solution to fix this bug or it's just that my P3600 gives priority to my girlfriend's sms???
Another issue: does somebody knows who to see the photo of the contact when you receive a sms?
In palm os there is a new app called picturesms but I don't know an app with this functionality for wm.

If the person who sends you a sms is in your contact list and if you have assigned a photo to that contact, when you open that sms, you should see his photo. It works automatically on my device, no more app needed.

When your using outlook, you assign pictures for every contact, when you sync it to your pocketpc it automatically shows the pictures, no extra software needed, saves a lot of space. of course you need to open the sms in order for you to see the picture, same goes with email etc.
but if you really want a 3rd party software try googling photo contacts.
Hi all
I have come across the problem that I can't send SMS larger than 160 chars after I upgraded to the "official" WM6. I am using the Swedish version on a HTC TyTN. When I try and send a message that is larger than the 160 chars i get a message saying (loosely translated from Swedish) Can't send SMS. After I click ok I also get notification on the bottom left part of the sms window saying synchronization error.
Has anyone else got the same problem and if so have anyone found a solution.
/Nicklas
Just to clarify...
I take it to mean that you could sent sms that were over 160 characters before you upgraded?
Because most of the providers that I know don't allow that.
Found something on the forums about this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=293505
Hope it helps.
Yes I could since the SMS program automatically sends the large SMS in smaller parts.
Say I make an SMS with 203 chars then it would send it as 2 sms, one with the first 160 chars and then a second sms with 43 chars and when the SMS arrive to the recieving phone it will be put together if that phone is capable of that. Now days I think all phones can do this. Or at least should be able to do this but after the upgrade to WM6 this fails on my TyTN.
i guess the previous version of the SMS application was allowing what is called multiparts message, meaning it send as many SMS of 160 car regarding your text lengh but with no guarantee that the reviever will have them in the proper order
usually SMS is limited to 160 car
larsuck: Thanx for the link but nothing in that helped.
So if anyone else have any idea I would much appreciate it because it is a bit frustrating that it worked with wm5 and not with wm6 so far
Have you tried to take a look at DiStefano's Cab Collection? There is an Palm SMS application. You can try it with this application if it is possible on you're device. Its a small test!
Good luck
Well I found out how to fix it.
I did this:
Once upgraded settings need to be changed to ensure desired operation, on the device go to start>settings>connections(tab)>USB to PC, untick the box (Enable advanced network functionality) then exit back to the today screen.
Click to collapse
??? Why would this have an effect on SMS limitations?
I don't know exactly why but what I did was that I hard reseted the unit and after that multipart sms worked as it should. Then I connected the usb cable and ActivSync wanted to reconfigure the settings so I went through the wizard. One of the questions I get is if I want to let internet calls and mms to be sent when the unit is connected and I choose that. Then I let the unit sync with my PC.
After that I couldn't send multipart sms again until I unticked the Enable advanced network functionality box
If anyone knows why this is please enlighten me
I bought a Parrot 3200LS and with this device you actually see the picture of the incomming caller.
Before you can see this, you have to upload the pictures on the parrot.
On my HTC3300 i deleted all my pics under MyDocuments, but when i get a call i still see the picture of the caller on my HTC3300.
Anybody know were WM5 locate this pictures?
It store the picture together with all the contact details (i.e. not on a seperated file) you will need to go into each contact and remove the picture.
I dont wat to remove the picture in the contact detail, i want to know where WM5 stored the separate contact pictures.
I searched the windows folder on my 3300, but WM5 hide them well.
got my touch pro 2 a few days ago, everything works fine apart from MMS, when receiving these they come through ok but are very tiny. Cant seem to enlarge them at all, the size of the file is around 6k which is far to small for an mms. anyone else seen this ?
if not will ring o2 in the morning and see if they are doing anything there end. never had this issue on my tytn II but have only just moved to o2 so might be that.
thanks for any help.
nobody else experiencing this ?, I have logged a support call with o2 to see if it is something there end. Very strange.
o2 helpful as ever, they wont assist as they dont support the handset.
There must be a setting somewhere in the registry where the phone is automatically downsizing these pictures as even if i send one to myself from the phone it sends at 224k but then receives at 6k ?
very annoying.
anybody ?
at present for anyone else that is on o2 with this phone and wants to receive full size mms pictures until o2 get there finger out and officially support the phone. I used the following settings from the htc touch, these settings need to be modified in the registry.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Arcsoft\ArcSoft MMS UA\Config\mm1\WspHeader]
Accept application/vnd.wap.mms-message,*/*
Accept-Charset us-ascii, utf-8, iso-10646-usc-2, ISO-8859-1, ISO-8859-2
Accept-Language en
User-Agent HTC_Touch_HD_T8282/arcsoft-mmsua-5.0.0.xx
x-wap-profile http://www.htcmms.com.tw/gen/HTC_Touch_HD_T8282-1.0.xml
this seems to work for me. now getting my grand daughter who has just been born at full resolution. much better than this tiny thumbnail size that I was receiving, she's small enough as it is.
My MMS wont send or receive on o2. Where do I change the settings?
What are they?
My data works fine and everything else!!
Thanks.
Stu.
If you have a custom ROM most will require a secondary CAB install for MMS provisioning. Check the thread of your custom ROM for MMS related information.
