Appointments does not work (WM2003SE i-mate pda2k) - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Appointments just stop working - no reminder window, no alarm, no vibro - nothing! Everything was fine just 2 days ago, and I didn't install anything new. Now I make new appointment that should alarm in 2 minutes and... nothing! And it doesn't depend on pda state - on or off, on set time - today in 2 minutes or tomorrow. Just does not work :-(
Please help!
PS Last official firmware (no update to WM2005)

Calendar Meeting Time Changing

I am new to the Smartphone...
I synced my calendar to my S620. Now sometimes randomly I get notices that I have an appointment when in fact I had that appointment yesterday.
It looks like all my meetings are getting moved forward 12 or so hours in my calendar. Then maybe after 5 or 10 minutes the calendar reverts back to the corrrect times.
Has anybody else encountered this issue?
Any solutions?
might have to do with your time settings, check if it's auto on in the time settings as well as the right timezone and it matches your computer
I have experienced a similar issue. Yesterday I noticed one of my appointment times change on 2 separate occasions. The time changed to an hour earlier than my meeting was supposed to be and then changed to an hour after. I set it back both times. Fortunately, I knew what time my meeting was that day.
I've only been using the Dash a couple of days so I don't know if this will be an ongoing issue. I had put the device in my holster without locking it, so I was wondering if that might be the source of the problem. Also, I had some trial 3rd party PIM software installed which I have since uninstalled. I'm a little worried that this would be an issue that would get through testing.
Today I noticed all my meeting times advanced by an hour when my service changed from T-Mobile to Centennial when I was driving. The time on the home screen of my Dash was correct, but all my meeting times changed by an hour. I watched as I changed back from Centennial to T-Mobile, and double checked my meeting times. They all moved back to the correct time. Anybody have any idea what is going on? It doesn't make sense that the time on my home screen was fine, but my appointment times changed on me. Any insight on the matter would be helpful.
In the clock settings uncheck the "auto clock/time zone" setting

Reminders Bug in WM6??

I've come across an interesting bug, I have alarms set that are annual re-occurding reminders (with alarm) and over the last two nights at midnight they have gone off but when it has sounded the "Reminder" softkey disappears without pressing it (it is only show for a 1 to 2 seconds). approx 20 seconds later the alarm sounds again but this time no reminder shown, nor is there a alarm icon at the top of the screen.
Basically, i can't stop these midnight alarms sounding without turning the device off and then back on. Also I would miss what the reminder is as the reminder button disappears.
For the records, I have PhoneAlarm (latest beta) but dont have the reminder alerts set within this. I also am running the latest version of PocketBreeze.
I am using the WM6 Black ROM
Any ideas as I might have to try another ROM if this persists???
Thanks
Mark
I'm using LVSW0315 with pocketbreeze v5.201, pocketweather 1.36, wisbar lite 1.11 and have never seen the problem you describe. You could first try a hard reset, then run without phonealarm. If problem still exists, then you might wait a day or two for LSVW to release his next version that'll include tadzio's memory trick.
Cheers

What is tadzio's memorytrick?

My Orbit flips out after a reboot

Hi - it's windows device, so from time to time it hangs so much it requires the soft reset. (Other than that though, i love the device)
When it fires up again, it just completely flips out. Vibrating, constant repition of the 'calendar reminder' sound, goes on for about 5 - 10 minutes!
Then will either reboot itself, or come up all ok.
It's almost like it has 100 un-acknowledged reminders, i havn't dismissed and it's firing them at me. No messages on screne though.
Any ideas? without me having to do a full reset?
Thanks - Jam
I'm having ery strange issues on restart as well. I'm about to contact 02 about it as it's really ecoming unacceptable.
Issue i get is when the phone is switched on or restarted and there is a reminder or alert he phone boots through to the pin enty screen (required for email access on our servers) the alert pops up and phone imediately resets itself again, It did this today for over 30 minutes in a constant loop then starts working ok. I fly a lot so switch the phone off then on when I arrive and if I'm waiting for a pickup it's a real pain !
Any ideas on possible solutions?
Sounds like there is a problem with the Notification Queue on the Orbit (I have had similar problems on mine, when an alarm went off but I wasn't able to dismiss it.
There is a program called CheckNotification available at http://scarybearsoftware.com/cn_overview.html which allows you to view the queue and delete the recalcitant message. This program was not written for WM5 and you need to be careful when using it. In particular, do not use the "Clear" button or it will stop ActiveSync from working.
Same Problem PLEASE HELP!
Hi,
Please can someone help us! I'm so glad that it's not just me experiencing this weird behaviour.
My Orbit is going into a continous reboot cycle with it popping up reminders for me to dismiss, but before they can be dismissed the Orbit reboots again. The reminders come up just before you're required to enter the device passcode. It's a nightmare.
Also randomly occuring is the fact that the date gets put back to October 2006. Is anyone else experiencing this? Perhaps it's related?
Rob
I ended up getting a replacement phone from 02, this one seems to be ok but I've explicitly not set it up for mail yet (it seems that the problem was when it hit the start up pin that's required for email security). I'm going to try it on the WM6 upgrade and see if that helps.

Alarm rings although there is no alarm set

I have an (annoying) alarm at exactly 8:15 every morning, although I have disabled all alarms. Also when I go into the registry under Current User | System | State | Shell | Alarms I can not find any entries.
If i enable an alarm this is where the entries stored.
What can I do, to get rid of that alarm?
I've got the XDA-Live.2 version of Mobile 6, and tried soft resetting.
Thank you for the help
Same Problem
I'm having the same problem. I'm running Black 2.5 (flashed it yesterday) and my alarm went off at excatly 12:00am midnight last night. I wouldn't have noticed if not for the fact I'm on call and had the phone beside my bed. The wife wasn't impressed
I am having the same problem with i-mate's current WWE ROM and this is how I solve it:
1. Disable all alarms I may set.
2. Launch DotFred's Task Manager and open Notifications.
3. Find all "Windows\clock.exe" entries and delete them.
4. Done!
Thank you. I downloaded it, and deleted the entries. I'll post tomorrow to say if it worked.
Yes, there is a known issue with the notification queue. Other good cleaners are SKTools and MemMaid. This is a problem with Windows Mobile 5 and (apparently still 6 too). Not a problem with a rom specifically.
Ok I have a rather annoying solution.. I noticed this issue when I had reset my device and the alarm would still get off... Note... if you had an alarm.. for about 5 to 10 mins.. dont reset the device! Because it always gets weird for me... the solution is to go back in time with the date... (make sure you enable the alarm to the same time and name..) and then disable the alarm.. then go back to the current date and if you notuce the alarm situation stops... well for me it!

Alarm won't change time and is always going of at 4:30am HELP!

So i have no idea whats going on. On my Alarms tab I once had it set at 4:30am to wake me up for a flight and now even though I've changed it it still goes off every morning at 4:30am.
Anyone have this strange problem and know a remedy?
im having the same problem.when i change the alarm it goes off at the new time i set but it also goes off at the old time. what rom are you using? Im using pays lite 6.0 rom
I've got the same issue. I'm running schap's 4.31 ROM.
It first came up a few months ago and I thought it was related to HTC Home. When I uninstalled it it went away. I seems to have been a coincidence because this weekend it came back. The only change that happened was that for some strange reason my time zone was changed so I changed it back. Ever since then the alarm has been stuck on where it was set at 6:30 :40 and :50am no matter what I change the current alarm to.
Thinking I had things narrowed down I changed the time zone back and forth one zone/hour while the alarm was set to the correct alarm time 7:30 :40 :50am.
Now I have a THIRD set of alarms going off at 8:30 :40 :50am. I literally have 20 minutes of alarms for three hours M-F.
Looking in the registry reveals nothing, the alarms are set for the correct times there and the ghost alarms can't be found. No amount of turning alarms on or off and soft reseting has any effect.
Hi guys,
I had the same problem - two hidden alarms. You need to clear notification queue. It can be done with SKtools.
Regards
Do you live upstairs from me?

buddy, its telling you to quit smoking weed ten minutes is enough...
peace bro
The problem's probably that Windows has got the event stuck in its schedule.
A number of tools will clear the list for you. If you download Pocket Mechanic from Wizcode the time-limited demo is fully-functional. Good software, it's good enough that I bought it after trying. Took me ages to work out how to sort the same alarm issue a coupleof years ago.
