[WM5] Sim Tool Kit - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Here it is.. Sim Toolkit For WM5 from universal...

I install it and softreset after that... It created automatically an icon in Programs folder and after launching it, it gave me a list of services on my SIM but when I click on any of them nothing happens... Any ideas...?

Mine works but only at second time, i haven't installed the service (on the .reg)

Can someone confirm if it works in XDA II with WM5?
Thanks

sorry
i' tried this after wm2005 patched version 2 with al other aviable patches(5),
still it is not working, i still cannot use my full toolkit,
Are there any different settings to try? the dll file was not in my windows dir, tried several ways only with the dll and both, but when copied both after resetting opening the manager it hang.
any suggestions? or tricks i can try?

Try without using the .reg, on my device it works, but at the first time the icon disapears, but reapears when you close the programs and open again, and at second try it works...
You can also try running the stk.exe directly

stk.exe Tried it but still not working good, when i click on it the toolkit opens,
But when i want to do something like entertianment or ringtones, the toolkit freezes,(can closed by [x] button)
have to make a reboot to choose another "theme" but the same problem.
tkitapp.exe is not working at all. (i know another problem 8))

I haven't had a need for the STK before, but suddenly I have. Hate to ask, but where do I put these files? In the Windows directory?

Hi, I have installed this STK.exe (Dual SIM), it worked on my drive with WN5, just send this .exe file into your phone, then click it, select the SIM card, and then soft reset, you phone will be switched to other SIM.

Downgrading to WM2003 problems.

Hello ppl,
I have upgrading my PDA2k to WM5 but now I'd like to downgrade to WM2003.
I followed the instructions by doing.
reset,
pressing record and camera,
make 2nd and 3rd option YES,
press messages,
setup the device,
doing a power+camera+reset
it went to Serial/USB screen.
I run the Maupgrade but when I click next to "check the device" it shows no versions, and when I click next it cannot upgrade.
when I click on reset and try to run the maupgrade while the operating system is running it shows the version that I want to install but when I click on next it cannot upgrade.
any ideas?
thanks.

Follow this:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_Downgrade_WM5
I did that step by step.
I told you what is the problem man, when it goes to the serial/usb screen it does not recognise the version
I am waiting for it to check a lot of time and then it shows that it cannot upgrade.
if I run Maupgrade while it is booted it shows the versions but cannot upgrade

If you get the error the first time with MaUpgrade_Ut then without removing the BA from the cradle, run MaUpgrade_Ut again..
I tried that also.

Then you need to run MAUpgrade_Ut twice.. As seen in Wiki..

However, if you are installing a rom on a device other than that which it is meant for, you will get a Device ID error, so follow these steps:
First Method (Quick/Easy) (TYPE II)
Download update to desktop
Unrar or unzip all files in exe or rar into a new folder
Open the folder with the extracted files
Download this file: MaUpgradeUt_noID.ZIP
Extract MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe from this file and place it with the other upgrade files.
Run this new exe file instead of BaUpgradeUt.exe to update your rom
If you get an error the first time, run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe again without touching your device (don't take it out from the cradle, don't reset it, don't touch it at all!)

I've got the same problem.
Try this:
Remove PDA form craddle
Uninstall ActivSync 4.x
reboot PC
Remove [or rename] directory C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync
Remove [or rename] directory C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\ApplicationData\Microsoft\ActiveSync
Install ActiveSync 3.x [you can find this version on your original CD]
reboot PC
Don't synchronize, don't pair [!!!]
Kill winword.exe, outlook.exe etc
Don't kill rapimgr, wcescomm, etc
Start bootloader [power+record+reset]
put PDA into the craddle [now should display "USB" instead of "Serial"]
start MaUpgrade_noID or BaUpgrade [probably it wil not recognize software versions, but don't worry]
Good luck
give feedback if it's working, pls
i run the procedure exactly as you instruct me.
and at the point where it starts upgrading it finishes after 2 seconds with message: Successful upgrade.
Do you have NBF files in the directory, where BaUpgrade or MaUpgrade_noID is dtored? For example - nk.nbf
It looks, that BaUpgrad [or MaUpgrade_noID] can connect now and is ready to downgrade, but there is nothing to downgrade.
yes I have the files.
let me explain again the problem.
with activesync 3.0 it happens the above problem
and at the point where it starts upgrading it finishes after 2 seconds with message: Successful upgrade.

with activesync 3.8 it does not even connect
or maupgrade stays and checks for versions forever.
re leventes,
anybody has any idea?
These all files need to downgrade from WM5 to 2003 SE on BA.
Put all these files into one folder.
1. MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
2. RUU.conf
3. RUU.dll
4. nk.nbf <---------- The most important file, because this file is ROM. When you run MaUpgrade, it will search what ROM do you have. In you're case maybe you don't have this file. That's why there's nothing show in version ROM....

I saw this problem while downgrage my IIs and I did the following:
First you need: MS ActiveSync 4.1 installed on your Desktop PC (If yes, the first time you see "Connection error" you need to restart you destop PC before downgrage). Connect your device let ActiveSync conected and..
1. Press Power + Soft Reset button
2. Fast press both Camera + Record at the same time before
3. The Record button to move down and the Camera button to change status. You should set 2nd & 3rd option to Yes ( It's boot with format Registry & Storage on your PPC). You will see the white screen for a few minute and next the color stripe. It means you device is booting
4. Press all Power + Soft Reset + Record + Camera at a time( It's not easy . The screen will display Serial & version ready to up/downgrage
5. Run MaUpgrageNo_ID (should put in the same folder with nk.nbf, ms_.nbf &...) This tool will skip some error for up/downgrage, you may try more time if first time see error.
I did that and succeeded but can anyone tell me why my device can't receive Delivery Report? I'm sure that my current ROM version have it (I used this for a time). Please help me!

Hi, this is already posted here:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307614 and in the upgrading threads regarding storage card problems.
But never mind, did you have problems with your storage card before using the fix with Black 3?
Regarding the fact that it is for the p3300 (Artemis) it is an official fix and works for both that model and the Tytn.

It is a cab file, follow these instructions that were given with the cab file on the site:-
1/ Copy the file to your device using ActiveSync. To do so:
-> Ensure first that ActiveSync is installed on your PC already. If it is not, please install it using the CD that came with your device.
-> Then connect your device to your PC. You can choose to connect the device to your PC as either a guest or a standard partnership, it does not matter for installing a .cab file.
-> Once the device connects to the PC, press Explore in the ActiveSync menu bar and copy the cab file there.
-> Your file explorer window should show the .cab file
2/) Use File Explorer to find the file and click on it to start the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions.
3/ Switch the phone off and back on.
NOTE:- Should you need to carry out a Hard-Reset on your device then this CAB file will be lost
and you will need to reinstall it on your handset.

TNX, I am aware of the problems, I just want to know what did HTC fix to solve them, was it a new driver? was it a simple REG hack?
IT IS NOT FOR TYTN.!!!!
If you switch the last word with htcp3300 or htc p3600 will show the page again. http://www.europe.htc.com/support/fa...device=" htctytn"
It will show it even if you put "lagoskon" .
Someone just put the word htctytn at the end.
You can't find the page if you begin from tytn support.
So don't bother with this fix...We will have to wait..

I have to disagree. I still have this issue with various WM6 releases, albeit at a much reduced rate than with WM5.0. I believe this is hardware related and the software fix(es) may work for some people, but not all.

HTC 1.33 ROM w/ JAVA & Opera Mini 4 (can't install cloudyfa java)

This newest ROM from HTC includes Esmertec Java Jeodek 20070425.1.1 built in as part of the ROM.
I have successfully installed Opera Mini and have it working through this version of Java as well as via a shortcut (28#"\windows\jeodek.exe" -run s0_) and it launches Opera just fine.
I am having two issues:
1) I cannot get the selector.utf to work to disable or suppress the two connection warnings from Opera
I've tried a hex editor changing
domain=untrusted, \
to
domain=tckmax , \
domain=trusted , \
to no avail. I even tried a fix.exe application which was specifically written to change the domain=untrusted, \ entry properly. It just doesn't work and I am starting to think that it has something to do with the Esmertec Java Jeodek being in the ROM from HTC.
... so
2) I tried to install Cloudyfa_EsmertecJbed, but it won't install ... I get an error message "installation of Cloudyfa_EsmertecJbed.cab was unsuccessful.
im running the cloudfa java on the new rom and it installed perfectly. i couldnt get the shortcut to work though and i havent tried to change the selector.utf file yet

Could you elaborate a bit on anything that you might have done, which would have enabled the successful install of the cloudyfa java?
I have tried SurrealNetworksAppUnlock & SDA Application Unlock and still can't get it to install.
Basically, I load the 1.33 ROM (the one from December, 2007 - we are talking about the same ROM, correct?) and immediately, without doing anything else to the phone, I try to install cloudyfa java and it fails, then I tried after installing the two unlockers I mentioned ... still get the same error.
I don't have any trouble getting other software to install ... very unusual.
i didnt even install the app unlock programs. and yes im using the same rom. did you try installing on the device instead of storage card? or vice versa?

I really appreciate the follow-up and the post. Your response got me thinking about more about my install process, as opposed to some type of incompatability.
Turns out, the CAB file had gotten corrupted in the transfer from my pc to the phone. I deleted the file on the microSD card, copied it over again and it installed perfectly fine; as you indicated it would.

cool stuff, to be sure
Anyone know a way to get rid of the 2 connection security question when opera mini starts? in beta it worked to set untrusted to tckmax, but it doesnt work anymore.

With the java included on the DASH, I was not able to get tckmax to work. If I use a different java, one that I have installed, it works ... at least for me.
Have you tried it with a version of java that you installed, as opposed to the java included with the ROM?

Make sure your phone is connected using a usb cord and it'll install it.

Newbie: Photo Contacts Pro 5 info
Hi All,
I am a newcomer to this forum and let me tell you that you guys do a great job with coming up with information and guidelines on Excalibur software so I have to give you applause for that. Does anybody have any info on this? I have the demo and it seems like it is a good application.
Thanks
I loathe photo contacts pro 5..... version 4.03 was and is the best one for the excalibur. my reasoning? after 4.03 the program doesn't run in the background. It shows up in task managers and is easly closed which defeats the purpose of having the program. It also takes up more memory and is even more laggy then version 5. if you can find a version 4.03 i highly recommend you try it.

WIFI UH OH (driver is not loaded)

I was updating my freinds dash, he had official rom on it, i went to rose rom v1.7a and also kavana final and some others and then i went back to latest t-mobile official rom 1.16 something, and all of them now say "drivers is not loaded" when you go to look at the wifi status, I loaded the WM2005 SDIO wifi drivers cab and also got a fresh copy of wifiinit.exe in the windows folder and then put the shortcut to it in the startup folder....i now have it running the rose v1.7a, i am lost, i'm on the phone now with a clueless pda expert at t-mobile.
still no solution to this problem, my friend might have to reflash back to original and do warranty exchange...i don't know what went wrong...he needs a new phone anyways...or maybe get the updated dash
wifiinit.lnk must be in the windows startup folder, or the drivers wont load this has been covered and a forum search would have shown you that

The drivers are included in every ROM I have ever flashed, loading them comes from the .lnk file. So unless you are getting an error that the drivers do not exist or have failed they are their. It is possible your .lnk file is pointing to the wrong location

Strange, the problem was due to a defective battery! Seems that when I try to switch on WIFI and SD, the battery level goes down in a way that the OS does not load the drivers. Charged the battery to 100%, and rebooted, everything works normally.
if you have a drivers problem, should try with this...i had the same in my dash...."drivers not loaded"...i put this files on the phone and wifi works again.

I just got my dash. I upgraded it to the kavanna but then i wanted to give the vanilla version a try since i needed a cleaner version it had a picture of the tmobile shadow but i thought it would be ok since the folder tittle said excalibur. It gave me and error at 3 % saying that the iimage was the incorrect size. Then it started up with kavanna but there was no wifi option. Then i downgraded to wm6 standard but my wifi wont start. When i check the settings it tells me that the driver is not loaded. Ive been looking around in this forum for 2 days. All i see is people saying that this topic has been covered already. I tried the wininit.ink and exe thing and no success. I hard reseted and nothing. I tried different roms and the official tmobile but nothing seems to work. wifiinit.lnk must be in the windows startup folder, or the drivers wont load this has been covered and a forum search would have shown you that
Click to collapse
yes this worked! thank you. i accidentally deleted it when trying to increase startup times. putting this file back in the startup folder got my wifi up and running again. tnx again.
