Hi
I've recently bought a new PC which came with Outlook 2003 pre-installed.
When I try to connect via ActivSync I cannot Synchronise.
I get an error message saying Outlook is no longer installed. ActivSynce will be shut down. Re-install outlook if you want to synchronise. Disable sycnronisation if you do not wish to synchronise.
Any ideas whats happeing here, I'm totally stuffed if I can't sync cos all my appointments are on the PC which isnl;t much good when I'm on the road

I know that Activesync is free and helps to sync my PPC to Microsoft Outlook and it is based on Partnership. I want to sync the same Microsoft Outlook .PST file which can reside in my Office PC and my Home PC.
Even when I have the same .PST file in Microsoft Outlook from my office PC copied to my home PC, Activesync will take it as a different PC and I'll have to combine all the information from my PPC and Microsoft Outlook and delete duplicates after that. This is very troublesome.
Is there something or setting that I can do on Activesync to solve this problem or is there other software that can solve this troublesome step?
When I was using Palm OS, I don't have this problem
Thanks.
i hv this problem
i cant select calender with my active sync to sync it with my BA
did any one yet able to get me the settings to get out of this mess as i have most of my meetings planed and saved on my outlook
has anyone encountered this problem...
i recently got a vista laptop and so far has numerous times encoutered this error wherein i had to recreate my sync partnership only to delete again the partnership and recreate it.
it has been a cycle i have been going thru and so far i have been doing it over and over without a succesful sync.
help or advise anyone?
What sync...6.1or 4.5? I find that 4.5 is more stable and have had a few problems with 6.1
im using the windows mobile 6.1 version, so far it keeps on giving me problems since day 1.
it wojuld sync for awhile, then have a problem, had to ask to delete partnership and re sync, then work again for awhile, then the problem again. hate it!
Hi.
If your device and WMDC dont connect, just kill wmdc.exe process and start WMDC again. Works for me.
actually they do connect, the problem is it keeps on giving me an error that i had sync again since an "error" as occurred, and says if it still doesnt work, i had to delete the partnership and sync again.
it keeps on going over and over.

Give more info... Like what office are you using 2003 or 2007 as 6.1 works with 2007 and 4.5 works best with 2003. If you have no office and just use windows mail or outlook express, then you would not be able to sync your e-mail or calendar. When it comes to sync, just try syncing your Mobile Favorites....or don't sync and be a guest....make sure that you in "connection settings that "allow USB connections" is checked. If you have Bluetooth adapter, try pairing it and syncing with that. Uninstall 6.1 and Install 4.5....Check for updates. I know that a while back there was a couple for Mobile sync center. You can go to the control panel and open up sync center and that would tell you whats going on.... also check your event viewer. Critical errors/ RapiMgr. should give you an event number... probably 6....go to online help and that will give you info........also will show you the errors in detail. With Vista make sure that the time on your PPC is the same as your computers time.
Also do a disk cleanup on your PC and install a reg cleaner on your PPC, you probably have a ton of errors...like memmaid
Its a new laptop ... spanking brandnew on windows vista and microsoft office 2007. jsut 5 day old, and installed vista fresh; downloaded the microsoft device center and for a time it sync ok; then the problem started and just wont stay fixed.
now, a temporary fixed is i installed pocket mirror instead of using the built in conduits, and so far so good i am able to make successful syncs.
I guess it is whatever works.... I have Vista Ultimate x4 and was in the Beta testing program. If you ever want to find out why it did not work, go into your control panel and open up "problems Reports solutions" and view your problem history...might even give you a solution

Had same problems here. Follow the clear instructions on how to resolve this with MrVanx "Windows VISTA Config guide".

This solved my problems!
Good luck with it!
Hi,
I have MDA Compact III and ActiveSync with Office 2007 doesn't work with it although the same installation of ActiveSync on the same computer worked with Palm Treo 750 couple of weeks ago.
I can browse the device so the connection is definitely working. The problem is when syncing starts it just hangs on "Looking for changes".
I have taken the following steps but no luck so far:
- Deleted the device partnership on both ActiveSync and on the phone many times.
- Tried 3 different ROMs (1 factory Windows Mobile 5 and 2 Windows Mobile 6.1)
- Disabled Windows Firewall completely
- Uninstalled NOD32 Antivirus software
- Tried syncing Contacts only and Calendar only items
- Tried 3rd party PocketMirror syncing software
Has anyone else experience this problem?
Thanks!
Want to add I am using ActiveSync 4.5 and connecting directly to computer using USB without any hub.
I've had a similar problem, I can connect via activesync and explore, I can even sync IE favorites but anything outlook related falls flat on it's face
I keep getting the 85010014 error code which all threads suggest can only be cured by an outlook re-install, but I've done that three times including removing all security software, activesync, and outlook. I then re-installed outlook imported my backed up contacts, re-installed activesync and I'm still getting the same problem with the same error. So I've given up!!
Just a word of warning though, be careful if you start playing around cos if you delete the sync profile on activesync and don't do the same on the phone activesync can erase all your contacts and appointments when you next try and connect, even though it won't sync anything. It did this to my kaiser twice before I figured out what was causing it.
As a work around I've found you can E-mail all contacts and appointments from outlook as attachments and then save them to the phone, I've now got an email with all my contacts and appointments saved on my phone and have backed up using PIM Backup
Not much help I'm afraid but at least your not on your own.
I tried syncronising Artemis using a borrowed a laptop and it worked. So I reinstalled XP, Office and ActiveSync and now the phone syncs without a problem.
I've looked for this issue but haven't found it, so please excuse me if you know of a thread which answers it. There's also nothing in MS help. Thanks to all who read this and treat me gently.
Firstly, I'm trying to understand why ActiveSync 4.5 has got settings for both the Windows PC and the Device (called "Tytn" in my case) under Tools>Options? I've attached an image if my description is unclear.
Then secondly, I want to know how I should have Email syncing set-up so that I have my Pocket outlook and PC outlook inboxes and sent items sync'ed.
In my Active-Sync set-up on my PC, everything except for Emails can be checked under both Windows PC and Tytn. If I have Emails ticked under Tytn, the emails in Outlook Inbox also appear on my Pocket Outlook. But I cannot place a check against Emails under Windows PC. I get the message "You cannot synchronize E-mail because it is already synchronizing with Tytn. To enable E-mail for Windows PC, clear the E-mail check box for Tytn and try again".
If I do this, I am warned that my emails will be removed from the Device. I can then check the Emails on Windows PC. If I try to check Tytn as well, I get the same message but in reverse. With the Emails ticked under 'Windows PC' none of my Outlook Inbox appears in Pocket Outlook.
I can't see the point of this option, but perhaps someone can clarify, or point me to a resource which explains everything
Cheers
It looks like you are syncing your device with two PCs? I think emails can be synced with only one pc.
If you are not syncing with two pcs, then delete the one that you are not using, and try to sync email.
Thanks for responding ai6908. It's odd because I've only ever connected the Tytn to one PC. However, on your advice I right-clicked on the Windows PC icon and selected Delete Desktop... and my dilemma is gone.
Trouble is, now it's made me wonder what that option might be for?

Did you buy a used phone from somebody? It maybe it, anyhow, glad it fixed the problem!
Nice reporting on time man. ActiveSync while in the start ask if you already have profile on your PPC. So next time when you changing computer or the windows of your PPC. Remember to remove the setting from activesync by deleting mobile device that sync with activesync
I need help, I recently installed Windows 7 Professional on my desktop Pc. I then installed Windows Mobile Device Center and Microsoft Outlook so I can sync/backup my contacts. Well now when I try to sync my phone Windows Mobile Device Center gets an error. I tried to sync it with my laptop that is running Vista Ultimate and i get the same thing. I think I probably need to hard reset my phone but I can't because I don't have a backup of my contacts since I reformatted my desktop pc. Anyone know what the problem could be with my phone that's causing it not to sync? Or what is another useful tool to backup contacts. I have Microsoft My phone and it won't let me backup contacts cuz I already have it set to backup thru Outlook.
Are you running Outlook 2010 on a 64 bit operating system by chance? If so, the Mobile Device Center won't work. I was searching about this all morning.
D.
No i'm running Outlook 2007. I think it has something to do with the phone cuz I'm unable to sync it with Vista or Windows 7
Have you a gmail account?
If so set it up with Exchange to sync your contacts and calendar, then you can reset the phone
i have the exact same problem!
besides that, i see that when i sync, Office 2007 (and WMDC 6.1 on Windows 7) takes the contacts i have in hotmail, and the contacts i previously had on my phone, and adds them all together, and then syncs them to my phone.. this is killing me, everything i sync my phone i have a bunch of unsorted and unwanted email addresses in my "contacts" in the phone.
any solution for this? before i used to sync contacts with no problem, in Office i even had a seperate group for hotmail contacts and just my phone contacts.. now its only 1 group together, any idea how to separete them??
