So last week i bought a replacement digitizer from ebay for my r800at. Once installed the touchscreen didnt work. None of the screen would register touch. I slid out the pad to get past the lockscreen and tried to launch applications and such but nothing would register. I reconnected the digitizer cable a couple of times to see if that was the problem but nothing. So i tried the old cracked digitizer again and it worked fine. So yesterday i got yet another replacement and the exact same thing happend.
Out of 3 digitizers only the cracked one works. I have noticed that on the ribbon connector of the new ones it says v6.0 while my cracked one says v7.0, could that be the reason? If so, where could i get a replacement for my r800at. The one i bought advertised that it worked on r800a/i/x/ so i thought it would work...

I have had the same issue. I disassembled my phone plenty of times, yet the new digitizer never worked. Frustrated, I used my cracked digitizer and it worked on its first try. I was assuming that I broke the new digitizer, but I was plenty careful. Quite strange.
I actually just had that same exact issue about 2 weeks ago. I just bought a refurbished x play on ebay for about 80 bucks since i didn't want to try fixing it again. If you find a way to fix that, let me know, as I wouldn't mind having a spare lol.
Hey all,
Having some charging issue with my device that will likely necessitate a replacement device. I've been hesitant to make the move given the quality issues of CLNR with Verizon in the early months of the GNex existence.
For those who have recently received replacements, did you encounter much problem? It seemed like the issues were mainly related to the screen or reception issues. I had my Gnex since day 1 and never had any dropped calls or weak/fluctuating 4G signal. I'm hesitant to give it up!!
Thanks in advance!
I just got a replacement 2 weeks ago and mine has been great. No issues at all. But every device is different

Its probably the charger cable, battery the USB port is broke. I suffered similar issues with a CLN HTC incredible. Try switching batteries cables or adapters. If all else fails take it back
I had similar issues with my original galaxy nexus after owning it for 8 months. The replacement they shipped me the ear piece on it didn't work. Sent that one back and the one after it I've had for almost 4 months now with no problems. A lot of it is just random bad luck, if I was you I'd send the old one in and hopefully your luck will hold up.

It might be a good time for a refurb, considering VZW just retired the phone.. Is it possible the remaining Gnex stock was pulled for refurbs?
About two weeks ago I got mine replaced by verizon due to my phone having charging issues as well. I went into the store, didn't call before hand.
I had flashed back to stock before i went in. Told the girl there that it wasnt charging right and i have multiple batteries and they all do the same. she went to look up on some database if others were reporting similar issues (there were none). after giving her my phone number and 5 minutes later she said a replacement is on the way and to mail my old one back in the same box (shipping was paid for)
I was very pleased by how quick and painless it all was. She never touched or looked at my phone at all and asked hardly any questions. my phone also had a chip in the screen (about 2 cm at the bottom right, no cracks though)
the replacement phone had a sticker saying "like new" replacement but it was absolutely pristine. absolutely 100% perfect cosmetically and works great as ever (screen colors seemed better than my original one imo).
Thanks for the heads up. Went ahead with the replacement. Will wait and see.

Just realiezd there's a scratch on the screen of the device I'm sending back... Any advice on what to do? I don't wanna get burn... I heard that VZW can charge an arm and a leg for returns that have damage...

Nothing to worry about. Mine also had a chip in the bottom right corner (about 1/4 in long and 1/8 in high) as well as light scratches near the top of the screen. Luckily the chip did not develop a crack, but none-the-less, the lady at the VZW store didnt say anything of it even when i pointed it out, and my return was accepted with no charges incurred.
As of yesterday (before I took the update) my mic just stopped working. The bottom mic that is. If I use speakerphone (which uses the top mic) it's fine. Factory reset twice, still doing it. Time to call T-MO, have not even had this thing 30 days yet.
The really crazy part is, I have a Gear Live watch that the mic stopped working on a couple days ago as well. Bummer week for tech.

Make sure u test camera well. Mine had issues after replacement
BAD ASS G3
So the replacement they sent me was a refurb. It has a small scratch across the rear camera glass, and the screen has a thin red line of pixels that goes from top to bottom.
So... G3 #3 will be here tomorrow. Wish me luck.
Well then, G3 #3 just failed on me. Same problem as my first one, the mic stopped working.
Tmo tried to help me out by talking me into getting a Note 4, essentially for free. But I ended up just doing another warranty exchange.
Here's hoping G3 #4 is the one. I have to be the luckiest guy in the world..
Well then someone is jinxed i sadly recommend the note4 if #4 doesnt work or insist they not send you refurbs
I got my S6 Edge brand new around 3 weeks ago, and all was well with it. But for the past week my phone has been acting up. It has been overheating, being very slow, loosing signal very frequently and the battery has been dying very quickly. 3 days ago, I made an appointment with T-mobile (the place I got the phone at) to have them look at it, and likely send it back to Samsung under the 1 year warranty. This appointment was supposed to be tomorrow.
This is where the main problem arose. Last night, i plugged my phone in to charge on my desk, and then fell asleep. When I woke up this morning, it was still where I left it. I went to pick it up, and it was blazing hot so I quickly unplugged it. I then left the room for a minute, and when I came back i looked closer at the phone and the screen was cracked! The phone has never been dropped, and the aluminium around the screen is in perfect condition.
Could the screen have cracked due to the temperature? Will T-Mobile still take it back without having to pay the $175 deductible? What should I do?
Thank you,
Michaek

Sucks to read what happened to your screen man! Specially after being with the phone for such a short time. In my personal experience with warranties and service providers, they will more than likely classify the issue as physical damage. Although you didn't drop the phone or have any noticeable point of impact on the body, they will still argue that the screen is cracked.
Your best bet would be to take it to Samsung (They are after all the manufacturer and the warranty is provided by them, not by T-Mobile) and hopefully can talk some sense into the rep. Most of the times when a new flagship device is out, manufacturers like to "capture" probable units that could pose safety risks or a more wide spread problem.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the suggestion. Sadly, Samsung told me that I would have to pay for the replacement or repair. I am waiting for a call back from a regional manager to have this problem solved. Hopefully something will happen.

Samsung asked me to send in the device for inspection. They said that it will either A. be fixed for free or replaced due to factory issues, or B. Charge me for a full repair.
Will definitely keep you updated when they call me after inspecting the device.

Can you share some images of your phone, front and side profile.
Would be interesting to know if you had a battery failure, where the battery overheated swelled and expanded so much that it blew up causing the screen to crack from the inside.

The thing didn't seem to be expanded. It still turned on, but the battery would drain quickly. Tested it today and got a few hours on the battery. I feel like the battery has been malfunctioning and that it could have caused it, but I dont think that the battery blew.
Sadly the pictures that I took were with an old phone so you cant see much. I would take more but it is already on its way to Texas. :/
Ok, let us know how it turns out and hope you have a favorable outcome with Samsung.

I talked to a samsung rep today and they said that it will be covered as a full warranty repair. I am still waiting for an update from their system on the repair. Once I get the device back. I will update again.

NICE!!! Glad to see they'll cover it!
I wonder what they found?
Probably a battery failure.

They haven't told me anything besides a "operating system issue" that caused the damage. This could mean anything in my book. A battery problem is likely the issues since the battery has been giving me issues since I got it. At least now it will be repaired, hopefully nothing else goes wrong with the device now.
After using an old RAZR HD I really miss my S6
Just got another phone call from Samsung saying it will NOT being covered. They are taking a second look at it, but where it seems, I might have to file a claim with them to get it sorted out.
So what happened finally?

Hello, two days ago I notice that occasionally my front screen touch screen stopped working. It starts to work for a while but then stopped for good. I restart the phone and start to work again for a few hours and now stopped again. I hard reset it but no luck. The screen works, but the touch function is not available. I have had it for almost 9 months and it was perfect till this moment. I have the August update from Samsung and I think this causes the problem-software problem maybe?

Try running diagnostics in settings->device care to test it
I can only do diagnostic when the phone is open. There is no problem with the touch screen there, but when I close it the touch screen does not work
Not trying to scare you, but exactly the same happened to me like 2 weeks ago. Screen was still showing everything crystal clear, but touch functionality was not given anymore.
Went to Samsung Repair Shop (Germany) and they told me would need to drop it off there for repair. They ordered front screen, in the end repair person found out that some electric-mechanical components had to be fixed. In addition to front screen they even replaced the inner screen and both batteries!
Fortunately everything within warranty, otherwise would have cost me more than 700€.
Best thing would be, go to Repair Shop near you and let them check the device. Crossed fingers that it maybe is not as bad as with my Fold 3.

Thank you for your answer. I spoke with my friend who has a repair shop and we thinks that the front screen is bad. Lucky that I have 12 months warranty left. Tomorrow I'm sending it back on warranty and to see what the retailer will tell
Hi there,
I had already faced this problem, then I sent my in Fold 3 service center.
