P2P wi-fi - MDA III, XDA III, PDA2k, 9090 General

Is it possible to establesh a peer to peer wi-fi connection between a pc with a wi-fi card and my blue angel. I'd like to use it for syncronization and sharing pc's DSL internet connection.
Is it possible? How?
Thanks in advance.

how to set Wi-fi for XDA IIs as adhoc (peer-to-peer)

Hi Everybody,
I can not configure my O2 XDA IIs's Wifi to connect to my notebook's wifi by using adhoc. ( where is the set up page in WLAN to set fixed IP, submask, DNS etc on XDAIIs ?)
My scenario is my notebook connects to office LAN cable. I try to configure WIFI on notebook to let XDA2s can surf internet via Wifi as adhoc.
Thank you for your help
Is there anyone can help me...pls

It's a matter of *Internet connection sharing* (Keyword I guess...)
Your PC shares its LAN connection and you use it by your WLAN.
Depending on your PC OS version you may have wizzards to help establishing the share.

Thanks
My notebook ( XP w/SP2 ) doesn't have the internet sharing feature on the LAN card at
Local Area Connection properties-> Advance (tab)
But I can see this internet sharing option at the same location on my Wireless LAN card properties.
What should i do to enable it on my LAN card?
Thanks

i did it with my imate jam + sandisk wifi sd and sync, share files, do evrything....
just u have to add profile in ur PC/Laptop SSID with operating mode (Ad hoc), then scan with ur XDAIIs untel u find ur pc/laptop and connect.
btw, u need to configure network connection ip for both and make pc (192.168.100.1) - XDAIIs (192.168.100.2) subnetmask for both (255.255.255.0)
thats all

Isn't there a matter of gateway to be configured somewhere in the IP settings of the Wireless ?
I'm not sure of the one needed (PC vs. ISP)
Jean-Jacques
no need, coz the gateway just for a network between server and many PCs or for specific configurations, but at peer-to-peer mode (like computer to computer wire network) no need for Gateway. if u need more info take look here http://www.makeitsimple.com/how-to/simple.htm

WIFI Internet

Hi, is it possible to connect the BA, via WIFI (P2P connection), to a PC with a WIFI card and use the PC's internet connection tu surf the web?
I tried: I can make the BA get the signal, but when I try to connect to a website it doesn't work.
Thank you in advance.
Bye.

I don't think its possible to do this directly using a P2P WIFI connection, but if you can get activesync to work over a P2P WIFI connection, it might work. I know is I use activesync over a USB connection & I can surf the net all day, so I'm thinking it might be possible to use the same approach over wifi.
Thing is I don't know if its possible to use activsync over P2P wifi
Solution
The problem is that windows not chain the IP Adrress of PC and Pocket bacause Nat not work under Xp basic system.
It's possible however to install a third party software to route packet from Pc to pocket i think all NAT's program can do that!!!!
Find one and Good Luck.
With WM2003SE i've used WINROUTE
Maybe?
Hi fabbor75!
Maybe your problem isn't the connection to the PC, it's maybe the DNS-resolution. Check your TCP/IP-settings on your BA, the important thing ar the DNS-Server.
The badest thing you must do is that you have to configure all TCP/IP setting manually: IP-Address, Subnetmask, Gateway and DNS-Server.
But you have to configure EXTERNAL DNS-Server on your BA, this one you got from your internet-provider, not the PC to which your BA is connected P2P. And the Gateway is the IP-Adress of your WiFi-card which is built-in in your PC.
Maybe this helps you.

Wireless Using Blueangel for laptops

I was playing around with the laptop and pda and setup a ad-hoc connection (device to device) i don't have a wireless router but i was wondering if anyone has managed to get the internet wireless on the laptop wen the pda is docked using ad-hoc connection for my laptop.
So i want to use the pda as my router getting internet from the pc and send the internet connection to the laptop wireless.
thanks.
There are 2 ways for using internet through WIFI in your blueangel
1. ActiveSync through WIFI (works only in WM2003SE and ActiveSync 3.8 or earlyer)
2. AdHoc plus Internet Connection Sharing (works if your proviced does not limit your connection for sharing)
Could you guide through the steps to share the internet connection please?

[HELP!] PC network problems when connected with Bluetooth PAN internet sharing.

Hi there, I have a big problem that will force me to downgrade to WM5 if I can't solve it.
Here's the facts:
I don't have a telephone line at home and I'm connecting to internet using a flat GPRS/UMTS connection with Vodafone using my TyTN as bluetooth modem (using the old WM5 DUN profile).
Since I upgraded to WM6 (and I love it) the DUN profile and Wireless Modem has been replaced by Internet Sharing application. It works very fine but it messes up my network connection with my other PC.
I used to share the internet connection this way: the bluetooth modem was connected to my main PC (AMD Sempron). The LAN (manually setted up) on this PC was: 192.168.0.1 / subnet 255.255.255.0. The LAN (manually setted up) on other PC (AMD Athlon) was 192.160.0.10 / subnet 255.255.255.0 / gateway 192.168.0.1. It all worked very fine.
Now as I connect the PAN bluetooth internet sharing my main PC (Sempron) acquires a new network address (the TyTN seems to be automatically setted as 192.168.0.1) so the LAN on the PC is 192.168.0.153 /subnet 255.255.255.0 /gateway 192.160.0.1 and the connection works fine but I'm not able anymore to connect via LAN tothe other PC even if I try different LAN settings on the Athlon (I tried to manually set it as 192.168.0.10 /subnet 255.255.255.0).
Who can tell me how to configure the LAN setting on the 2 PCs so that I can access internet enabling PAN bluetooth on the TyTN with the main PC (Sempron) and still continue accessing remote folders and files via LAN on the other PC (Athlon)?
It would be great if I could share the connection with the 2 PCs like I did before, but I'll be ok if I can connect to internet with one and have a working LAN between the 2 PCs.
Hope I explained it well.
Waiting for suggestions. Thank you!
Pick a machine that is to be the internet gateway. Do this by initiating the BT PAN network on the first machine. On the first machine's IP stack, Enable Internet Connection Sharing. On the second machine, use the first machine's IP as your default gateway.
You should then be able to access the internet from both machines.

Ok, I started the BT PAN on my main machine (AMD Sempron) but how do I enable the connection sharing? When I was using the DUN connection I used the Advanced Options section to enable the Connction Sharing, but where do I find this opzion now?
On a Windows Machine the IP range to be assigned when Internet Connection Sharing is turned on is 192.168.0.x. That is also the range used by Internet Sharing on the phone. This is a routing conflict. You cant have a 0.x being handed out from the phone to the 1st computer and then have that computer handing out 0.x addresses to any other computers. The IP range the Phone hands out needs to be regedited to something else like 192.168.1.x As far as I know, you cannot change the address range in Windows Internet Connection Sharing. You will have to do it on the phone.
If this helps.

USB internet sharing

I have managed to connect my netbook for interent sharing using Bluetooth.
I want to be able to also use the USB connection.
When I try to load internet sharing it says I need to turn bluetooth on to share the internet connection.
I had a choice between USB and bluetooth internet sharing with my xperia. How come not with TP2?
