lets open an audiovox 4100 section

i don’t see why we shouldn’t open a section for the 4100 here. A lot of the developments that goes on here also work on the 4100.
I have done some research on it and so far I found out that the ppc4100 use 2 file to flash the rom one is the boot and the other is the WM image just like the others do. Now both of those files are nb0 format and can be extracted with dumprom.exe which is available here. It can flashed back on the ppc4100 using a flash card to hold the image and triggering it by booting with the bootstrap.
Wish list
to edit the image file ( to change certain files)
to compile the extracted files from the rom ( to customize the rom with new programs or to custom update to a newer operating system )
what does anyone think?

u can change the press icon on the 4100 its located in a file called bobo.exe in the windows folder.
see? its almost the same there is very little change i think we need to sit down for a little while and think about how good this will do.
it will bring in more readers that would like to read about the 4100 thus u will generate more traffic that also will generate more donations
so pls i dont know how to get the athoraty's attentions here at least concider it

I am very intersted in the 4100 development as well.. I was hoping someone in here or maybe a few would be interested in sharing some knowledge and possible experience. I have done a lot of research and played around quite a bit with this over the last week using various XDA tools as well as hex editor, ect. If anyone would be interested in helping please post us here.

the original rom files for the 4100 are the currunt morst recent update from at& however, both files are *.bn0 extention. as follows.
SP_E0402_230A.nb0
SP_K1112_230A.nb0
i recieved those files from audiovox a little while ago. jr97ai and myself have been working on this and have extracted the files out of the romfiles with the use of dumprom.exe. (great app by the way). i think jr97ai knows alot more about this than i do and can explain a little better.
i will attach the bootstrap rom file along with a letter that came with the cd that was sent from audiovox. i can attach the rom file as soon as i free up my bandwith
I have been playing around with mkrom and have been experiencing some problems. as it says on mkrom its not the most user friendly program. no its not, not at all, not even close. but i still try anyways lost but still trying.
if anyone can somehow point us to a direction it coul dbe verry helpful.
there might be a possibility tto use the exsisting xda WMse existing rom to use on the 4100. they seem to be similar. they do use the same operating windows after all.

well i tryed to post the rom file many times it didnt work. its uploaded in the ftp if someone can post it.
every time i try to post it shows this err.

to change the operating system from win2003 to 2003se wouldi need to change the bootstrap as well?
i am thinking i could use a nb1 and rename it to nb0 it should be the same.

im working with audiovox ppc4100 , and if u wanna dump with rom for make permenent rill file and dont losse it when u make a hard reset ,,i think the best solution its when u replace rill u can make a completat backup in a sd card then when u have to make a hard reset u can restore your backup and all will work ok...by the way i have working well mms, photo contacts , npencil , ms money , etc.

now that we are able to flash the rom to the ppc4100 i am thinking we could change the operationg system. i am running towards the wm2003 se . i am trying to look for a basic rom nb1 format so i can try to flash it.
i am thinkiing it will work but i am worried about the phone part of the ppc.
do u have any thoughts on this?

Report about wrong user name and password
I need to reflash my PPC4100. Looking for rom and can`t find it. May be somebody have a original ROM from AT&T, or custom ROM, or WM5 ROM?

Artemis ROM 1.13

Hi all,
I am trying to upgrade to 1.13 with the RRU art_tmouk_11311001_024990_wwe_ship.exe available from the Wiki but I get "Invalid Vender ID"
The reason I want to upgrade is because I bought the device in Geneva Switzerland and it comes in French. I need the device in English.
Can anyone help me get around this please? if at all possible? It would be very much appreciated as I already talked to their support dept and they say it is not possible.

your anger is understandable..., but its not the language they lock, but the rom provider specifics. just by the way, software is licenced to the hardware sold with( parallel to pc & windows ) ....so this is how you should see this. in most cases you will even lose warranty by cid unlocking.

True, but I bought the device HTC branded, on its own. It should be completely unlocked. Completely. This is so inconvenient, of well, do you guys think they will release more languages in future?

WM6 is nice, but im just becoming frustrated with not having the network wizard or proper access to planet 3 etc etc

you need to unlock the extended rom but that is already unlocked on WM6 versions- i have LVSW wm6 rom installed and it works great.
i will try and upload it somewhere else.....

Silly question but how do you install it?

Hi Thanks for the reply please go easy on my noobness but I am not sure by what you mean??
I mean I extracted the extended rom and went in and excecuted the file in that folder --- I then get a question asking me on my trinity if I want to allow a program (enterbootloader.exe) to execute and then it drops out and the flash screen comes up on the trinity but the flash program on the computer says it has an error comunicating with the device and only finishes with the exit option - however no flash takes place
I get the same with the ax3l rom can anyone help? I think i'm missing some basic ideas here
Maybe i should start a new thread --- but any help would be great

Sorry, I haven't looked at how to actually use it, just figured I would host it to save people trying to get it off rapidshare.
I haven't upgraded to WM6 as yet (hoping the official release will be soon so I don't void my warranty).

hehe- keep waiting mate- gave up waiting a month or 2 ago and am so glad i did. i figure if anything goes wrong with it i will flash it back to the old rom. I am now using Ax3l's ROM and its great.

Copy the "CWW Enterprises AUS Operator Con" file onto the pda and then run it.
What do you do with the rar file - "Aust 3 ext rom"?? Unzip it and transfer the contents onto the pda (12 odd cab files)?? And what about the exe files in there and the ExtROM.rar file (also in the Aust 3 ext rom rar file).

Hi I am just wondering something, I have the cab files and am playing around with them, but I really only want one thing from them, and that is the access to my 3 ------ everyone with 3 Australia knows what i'm talking about--- anyway, I am using LSVW windows rom and it nice -- much nicer than the default that came with my dopod/trinity --- but I can't check my account now because the icon is gone -- obviously
but I am guessing it is only a small file or something can anyone help me get my three icon back ---- also can anyone give us a quick break down on what the cabs do and the information of why we would want to install the extended rom??

search for the cab file, CWW Enterprises AUS Operator Con. Run it and it will setup a access point thingie for 3.
then open your ineternet explorer and type the address three.net.au, go to that page then you will be able to find My3
YOu dont even need the CWW Enterprises AUS Operator Con cab file if you already have the 3 services setup on your phone which can be done manually if it is not already there. You can checkout hte three website or call 3care and ask someone to help you set it up.

aaah the CWW file is the 2nd file in the OP

Yeah, I installed the CWW Enterprises AUS Operator Con, and ran it, then chose 3, but I am getting an access prohibited error when I connect to three.net.au
Am i supposed to install all the three rom? or is it just that cab --- remember that all i want is to access my three

Hi Just an update --- I installed all of the extended cabs ---- I was still getting the problems with access being denied however It was MEEEEEEEEE I was trying to connect via my wireless connection not GPRS

Excalibur Sim unlock

The idea is to unlock your Excalibur by entering a sim unlock code when a 'wrong' sim card is in the phone.
I can prolly find that unlock code. If one of you is interested to test this method please drop me a PM. You will need to make a bkondisk sd dump and also read out a few bytes from memory with pmemdump. If you don't know these proggies then don't bother PM me!
Only the first will be served
PS: if it works I will release a program to do it yourself some time sooner or later

I won't develop a program to find the codes. There are a couple of reasons: there are people who will use my sw to rip-off users on e.g. ebay; I have too little time to do the development; HTC wouldn't like the idea of me publishing a program using their intellectual property.
To find unlockcodes, I'm running firmware code in an ARM simulator. It takes about an hour to find the code and it's quite a laborous and delicate task to set it all up.
So I'm currently unlocking excalibur, vox and oxygen phones on a case-by-case basis. Contact me by PM and I will make you a reasonable offer.
You will have to send me 2 files which allow me to find your unique unlockcode. See description below.
Make sure your phone is application unlocked before carrying out these steps. In this post you find a simple description and program to do that.
1. run:

This creates a text file docid.txt. The first two bytes are usually 0xEC 0x00. The tool pmemdump is part of the itsutil toolset by itsme, download here
2. do a bkondisk dump (for further details see here):
first copy bkondisk.exe to \windows on your device, then:

This creates a 4MB file bk_02_0005.img in \ on your device. The tool prun is also part of the itsutil toolset by itsme.

It seems there is little enthousiasm for this experiment so we change the procedure. Don't PM me, but follow the steps below instead.

No, it would be a PC console app which still needs the dump file and the 16-byte memory dump. The "guide" to obtain these is on the page 1 of this thread
