Hello.
Does anyone know how to set the up/down rocker button for anything other that volume. Like, to scroll through web pages?
Or indeed, to set the middle button for 'Re-fresh'

Saw that. Unfortunately, when I try to use the up down keys, even when mapped to the simup simdown control apps, I still get the volume control...

Any way to make this do something outside of volume?
I never change mine (outside of vibrate mode which I use a widget for anyway) and figured I'd see if I could get anything useful out of it.
Does you used rocker for navigation and music volumed?
I don't know how I would use it for navigation, but I don't really ever need to change my music volume, and if I did I use audiomanager.
I'm interested in ether keeping the buttons from accidentally changing my settings, or finding a new use for it.
it would be sweet if you could use it as the shutter button in the camera app
bumping this to see if anyone has any ideas. I'm sick of accidentally hitting the vol rocker and changing my ringer volume.
Is anyone else genuinely annoyed with the fact there is no volume lock option on this device? When I want to lower the volume with the rocker on say the lock screen, only the ringer volume goes down, and I have to click the gear icon to manually adjust the volume for the notificatons/media/etc.
I know there are manual volume profile apps/widgets out there, but maybe I'm just old school and want to use the rocker to adjust my volume down for all possible audio output at once.
Any workarounds known out there?
Hi all
First question here, been reading for a long time.
Got N-5110
Volume rocker function seems switched.
Looking from the side, on/off is left, volume rocker right.
Pressing volume rockers left side (the side of the on/off switch increases volume
Pressing the right side decreases volume.
Is this a setting? Is this with your tabs also?
On tab 10,1 it was the other was around.
Thanks
Hans

Click to collapse
Hans, no you are not crazy.... same here. Lets see if there is an option to reverse that as we watch the other posts.
regards,
The volume rocker layout is what I would expect it to be. If the tablet is held in portrait orientation, pushing volume "up" makes it louder, "down" makes it less loud. Same as on a phone. I'd think that it would be confusing having this layout on your phone, and the opposite function on the Note 8. I haven't tried every tablet out there, but every one I've used has the same volume rocker layout. So to me, the layout on the 10.1 seems "wrong".
Hey, I want to completely disable my volume keys for any volume activities. I just want them to be power buttons. I generally use the inbuilt feature of AICP to wake from volume keys but sometimes it triggers the volume too. I want to remove that and only use it as power button no volume. Does anybody has any idea about how to do that.
Hi everyone,
Since the Pie update, the volume buttons only affects the media volume (YouTube videos, streaming music,...).
But can we map it to control the general volume or the ringtone volume ?
It's very annoying (for me) to get every time to thé volume settings to configure what I want
Before pie,, I used an app to force buttons to media only. I use a profiles app (audio profiles) for other volumes.
With pie, you need an app to get volume for other levels with the keys. eg. https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...ones-notifications-again-android-pie-0186539/
Or, use the various shortcuts. Like press volume then the settings icon. Or setup a quick tile or widget or something.
Thanks mate ! I'm using Button Mapper Pro right now, really nice app
