Volume hard buttons for anything else than media volume ? - Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
Since the Pie update, the volume buttons only affects the media volume (YouTube videos, streaming music,...).
But can we map it to control the general volume or the ringtone volume ?
It's very annoying (for me) to get every time to thé volume settings to configure what I want

Before pie,, I used an app to force buttons to media only. I use a profiles app (audio profiles) for other volumes.
With pie, you need an app to get volume for other levels with the keys. eg. https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...ones-notifications-again-android-pie-0186539/
Or, use the various shortcuts. Like press volume then the settings icon. Or setup a quick tile or widget or something.

Thanks mate ! I'm using Button Mapper Pro right now, really nice app

volume control

Hi! How can i adjust the volume of the music player without changeing the volume for ring tones?
first of all, most music players have their own volume control (wmp, tcpmp, coreplayer...), which does not influence the system volume.
secondly, if you have to use the actual volume keys on the side of the device, you can split the volume control to separate the system volume and the ringer, go to the manila settings tab, sound & display and switch Single Volume to NO (see screenshot)
music player
Ok. Thank you. I just don`t found the volume control for the music player from HTC.

Quick question on volume...

Hi guys,
How do you change the volume when your in the app (the app volume).
Whenever I am in an app and I press the volume buttons, it changes the media volume a bit and then changes over to ringer volume. I am also using the volume locker.
Is there a setting to just change the volume of the opened app using the sie keys.
Regards,
Abinav
The App volume forms part of the Media Volume.

[Req] Volume Button App/Hack to control all volume types?

I thought I saw an app somewhere that would let you change the behaviour of the Volume Buttons so that pressing volume down would lower ALL volume types (and not exclude alarms/music).
I don't want an app with an onscreen widget or anything as I like to adjust volumes without unlocking the phone, or even looking at it (easy to adjust volume while in pocket etc..)
The default behaviour of the Samsung S3 is that it reduces/raises all volumes EXCEPT alarms and music, which I can understand for some people, but if I put my phone in vibrate via volume... i do NOT expect to hear a peep from it.
Anyone seen a hack or an app that will do this?

[Q] Force volume keys to change media volume

I always use ringtone/notification volume at max, or i switch the phone to vibrate...
but if I want to turn off media volume BEFORE i open an application that has a sound, i have to go inside the settings menu.
is there a way to force the volume keys to change only media volume?
anyone has an idea?

Click to collapse
What about if you use Tasker to make a script that first adjusts media volume and then launches the app?

[Q] Req: app using volume buttons to control volume profiles

Hello, I have searched for this for some time now, but I cannot find any app to do it:
I want to use the volume buttons to change volume profiles.
This way I can create these profiles:
- Silent
- Vibrate
- Soft (ringer, notifications and media)
- Normal (ringer, notifications and media to a 'normal' volume)
- loud (all volume channels a bit louder)
- max (all volume channels louder, some on max)
Changing should not cycle, zo when pressing the Volume+ several times the 'max' profile is chosen and keeps chosen.
Who knows an app that can do this?
Anybody that knows an app or softmod which can do this?
I only see apps with shortcuts on the desktop or from notification bar, but redirecting the volume buttons like this is nowhere to be seen...
There's a defect issue for Android with a request to force the buttons to change a specific volume channel, but that's still something different.
I would love to know how Tasker can use the buttons immediately, without only noticing the volume chance of channels. This way I can make my own tasker task with the volume button up and down.
Currently I am investigating 'Quick click' (downloadable from app store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blor.quickclickgold)
It at least looks promising - the rest can be done via Tasker, I think
