I think that with old 1.22 ROM battery life was longer than with new 1.40... at last 20%...
Am I right?
Bye, M.
With 1.40 rom the Radio 1.12 is the worst consuming battery I ever seen.
Just upgrade to radio 1.13 , the best radio version I have seen for battery savings.
For some reason one of the providers added the old battery patch to the 1.40 EXT roms that have gone through the kitchen.

Might like to try that and see if it helps out.
my battery seems to be excellent, before i upgraded i used to go home from work with 40% now i go home with 65%and i dont do anything different.
oh,my radio version is 1.10,i can just use it for only one day, maybe i will download a radio rom and upgrade it

Hi I'm running Black Dymond v3.5
Radio version 1.41.00.10
Protocol version 32.74.7020.18H
And my battery is giving me around 12 hours standby...
There is really bad compated to Windows Mobile 5.
Any suggestions on what I can do?
Or is there a better WM6 image that i can use to give me better battery
life?
Update to black shadow instead?
http://wmblack.info
Hi,
I thought about that. But read Black Shadow gave crap 3G coverage.
I'm on the UK's 3 network and I need 3G for calls..
What do you think? And any news on battery life?
Rather than upgrade the image would updating the Radio version help to RADIO: 1.43.00.00 to save battery life?
Otherwise the image works great...

Whoever posted that really has no idea about how the Hermes works, the ROM has no bearing on reception....the radio stack is responsible for coverage issues. Black Shadow is far superior to dymond as it is very stable and supports the latest SDHC cards as a bonus.
Try updating your radio stack first, give 1.43.00.00 a try.
I'm downloading 1.43 now and see how I get on....
Need to charge the phone though...
I hope it fixes it.... else Black Shadow here i come..
what's up with HTC, release your WM6 image...!!
Hi,
Which is the best GSM & RADIO at the moment to upgrade to (least battery consumption)?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397939
I'll think i'll test the 3.21, there were some signs of battery drain, but i will see, anyone tested this one long?
Thanks,

Hi,
On my HTC P3300 i noticed a different radio can be a world of difference in battery life.
There was an older one, which was just stable enough, and my battery was standby for almost 1 full week!
I have the Touch Pro 2 now, and i'm wondering which radio is the minimum and most stable rom with best battery life? I flashed the latest radio here in the topic above, but it consumes reasonable.
Thanks!
Cheers,

All of your radio questions will be answered in the depths of this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=549939
The battery usage is dependent on which RILPHONE.DLL has been cooked into the ROM you are using. However, I digress, for all of that information is available at the above thread. Please post future radio questions there
Yeah everyone knows this topic, but it's 90 pages man, this takes ages to read all!
Just want to know someone that tested a lot of radios and knows the minimum required and most stable with less battery consumption.
On Artemis forum there was simply a poll and people voted for best radio or least consumption, and it was correctly, my battery lasted a week!
Basically you have to do your own tests as it depends on the ROM you are using in combination with the radio.
That will give you the results you are looking for, but you have to test several to get conclusions
Let us know your results please

I'd love to know your results as well. I recently flashed the Tmo 6.5, and the radio blows!! I have a helluva time hearing people, it always seems to be breaking up mid-call. I am considering flashing to the radio I had previously, but am not quite sure how well it will play with my current rom.
And yes, that radio rom thread has a million posts and is quite tedious to read.
i use dotcompt's deepshining rom with the radio 4.49.25.17 and i'm extremely impressed with my battery life...i've been up for about 12 hours now and during that 12 hours i've used my phone extensively...i text a lot and play music a lot too. My battery is showing a still solid 60%...not too shabby for a days use

I saw your signature that you are using Rom: Cell Pro V10.1,i think you probably also tried cell pro lite v9.5, isnt this you are looking for? stable and least consuming?
What is the best radio for the Telus DHD? Im having battery drainage issues
bump.
would like better battery life
I would also like to know the Safe radio options for Telus DHD
I have seen a few dotted around and some that are reccommended to gain the best peformance with specific roms (revolution for example) But i know changing the radio can sometimes be risky.
Thanks in advance.
oh and equlizer have you tried wiping battery memory, that worked a charm for me...
yep, battery issues fixed

Glad to hear it!
Ive been trying to find posts with people advising against radio, or recommending the best fit (or general) radio compatibility with the Canadian Version of the Phone but i'm having no luck,,,
So far are the DHD radio's have the ability to be rolled back without issue?
Are there any specific radios that seem to brick the canadian version of the DHD?
does anyone have a definate answer?!
I think it depends on which rom you are using

Hi,
My radio is 12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M and I installed a Stock-rooted Gingerbread ROM.
It came with a radio but I didn't flash it (Mabe I was scared or just wanted to test the ROM first who know...) the fact is since then, my battery life as improved and the radio signal is good enough that I didn't flash it.
(24-32 hours of autonomy with a good use of my device)
Should I think again and flash the new radio anyway ?
here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059563

Radio (12.28b.60.140eU_26.03.02.26_M)
I live near Ottawa, but in a lower reception area, and I have been trying radios trying to get a good mix of reception and battery life.
Currently I'm using "Radio_12.35d.60.140f_26.06.03.24_M2 - TELUS WWE 1.84.661.1" and the corresponding RIL on Leedroid GB rom. It seems ok for now, but if anyone has tried a bunch of radios and can suggest their own best results for us Canadian desire owners, I would be much appreciated!
a fellow telus dhd owner here in edmonton. i'm using the latest radio (check sig) with g ril on cm7 with great results. i was using hm ril's for a bit and the device had very poor performance (calls cutting in and out, slow gps sat lock, wifi/3g sporadic disconnect/reconnect, etc). all that has been remedied by just flashing a g ril instead of a hm ril.
i think it'd be good to remind everyone that matching your radio and ril to your rom type (i.e. sense vs asop) is also important. from what i've read, use g for asop and hm for sense roms. it sure made a difference for me.
Thank you for the good advice. I switched up to the newest radio and ril and they seem the best for me I am still interested to know what others agree having success with here in Canada

I'm a fairly new user, got my Telus DHD (first Android) in the beginning of april, I live in Montreal, and took the entire phone apart within the first week. Tried a whole bunch of roms, then learned the hard way that Sense roms are like beautiful girls in bars at 2 am, they get you excited at first but then it's all disappointment... Lately I've been playing a lot with cyanogen nightlies, and I've been trying to find the best battery life possible.
So far the best I got was CM7.1 RC1 with Radio_12.35d.60.140f_26.06.03.24_M2 - TELUS WWE 1.84.661.1
That would last me over 35 hours very consistently with heavy use, screen on and lots of data (3G)
I tried pretty much all other radios on the latest nightlies (right now #170) and haven't found anything as good as 26.06.03.24_M2. I am in the process of reflashing that one while on this nightly to see if things will go back to what I had.
When you know your rom (and apps running) are not draining the battery, is the radio/ril the only other variables that affect battery life ? In other words, would the same radio/RIl drain the same regardless of the rom you're using ?
(forgot to mention I flash Alienmind's stuff over that, so I also use LordModUE v6.9.2 kernel and I change the OC to 122min/1.3max and use Brazilianwax (that governor seems so far seems to be the best)
What are your experiences in this??
I'm running Rev 3.5 with Radio_12.35d.60.140f_26.06.03.24_M2 as suggested .. Didn't really have any problems..
But I'm wondering if the newer radio's like :
17th March 2011:Radio_12.35d.60.140fU_26.08.03.07_M_Test
04th April 2011: Radio_12.48.60.23U_26.08.04.07_M3
Give any significant improvements without loosing stability.
Or.. Is it wise to think that when HTC releases gingerbread for DHD it will come with a new kick-ass radio ROM ?...
Hi , am using AR HD 3.5 with Radio_12.48.60.23U_26.08.04.07_M3, better reception and GPS is faster.
Alright ..
Gonna flash it when my battery is full again..
IN all the radio threads you see big warnings about bricking ur phone etc .. But what actually happens if you do flash a BUM radio rom ...?
You'd still be able to get in the recovery menu and reflash it right ?
phone becomes paper weight...
ouch....
So... with that in mind.. is it a wise choice to flash
Radio_12.48.60.23U_26.08.04.07_M3 ??
Also how come a BUM radio rom cannot be reflashed ?
I flashed the 'unknown source' radio a while ago and used it for a week. I switched back to the recommended one because I found my Wifi & Mobile Data went off after I locked the phone. Apart from that the radio was pretty good.
Hmm ... read around a little and I don't see other complaints about this ..
I will flash it and give feedback here
It depends..
For example,Radio_12.35d.60.140fU_26.08.03.07_M's 3G network works very fine..But it has bad wifi performance..
Radio_12.48.60.23U_26.08.04.07_M3's 3G network doesn't works as stably as Radio_12.35d.60.140fU_26.08.03.07_M's,but it has better wifi performance and better battery life..
May be it also depends on your phone and location.
I'm sticking on the radio recommended and so far the phone perform well as well as the battery still satisfied me as I oc it to 1.6 GHZ with smartass scaling.
