I was wondering if anyone knows if the SX or any BA variant contains a 'field mode', or a mode that shows diagnostic information about the phone, signla, towers, ect. It'd be interesting to look at, and I know some motorolas have it, so I figured I'd ask.
Thanks.

There is an application on the T-Mobile Dash that will show you all sorts of network diagnostic information. To access it dial *#*#364#*#* on the phone. It's not very useful, but interesting none the less. I don't know if this is available on the HTC s620 ROM or not.
yes, this is available for S620 as well.

Neat. I can even save it as a phone book contact.
Thanks!

I was just looking at this - maybe it can shed some light on the differences between the different radio ROMS? Seems to have lots of info regarding GSM etc.
I was lookin through the registry in my HTC ROM and i found a weird key that said like engineering mode and it had a set of keys that i pressed. It is *#*#364#*#* and then it goes into like a program called GSM test mode. It has a lot of random info, and i was wondering if anyone knew what this was for
It just gives you some debug info on GSM/GPRS for the cell site you are connected to. Nothing useful unless you work for a telecom company and are doing cell site testing, or work for for HTC
Hello everyone,
I have realized the Touch Pro2 has "engineering mode" by reading other forums. You get to it by dialing *#*#364#*#*
Does anyone know what the items listed in this hidden application are? RSSI seems like signal strengh?
Anyone have any ideas on the meaning of the items in this mode?
I cannot believe you guys are not interested in the Field Test Engineering Mode. This could be a treasure chest of information!
Does anyone know what the readings available in Field Test mean?
Some of the readings are:
ARFCN
LAC
RAC
MNC/MCC
RSSI
NCell Info1 - NCell Info6
RX Quality
Last Registered Network
TMSI
Periodic Location Update Value
And there are many more... any ideas what these are?
\windows\FieldTest.exe add a link in your programm folder
you dont need enter the numbers...
There`s an application called Htc Field Test that`s been around for a long time.
Don`t know what you could learn from it anyway
My One M8 is rooted and S-Off. I can't seem to get any of the secret codes to work and was wondering if this is specific to my phone or if T-Mobile has them disabled. Do these work for anyone else?
To Check Information : *#*#7780#*#*
To Check Test GPRS Information : *#*#1472365#*#*
I got the codes from here: https://androidxda.net/htc-one-m8-secret-codes/
Also, I have Carrier ID disabled so I guess if these codes somehow have hooks into Carrier ID to get the info, that could cause an issue. Ideally, I'm trying to find a way to find out from my phone what bands it uses. I know there are sites that list it like gsmarena.com but I'm just trying to figure out if there's any way to get the information directly from the M8.
Thanks!
I dont want to be accused of spamming the forums, however I want to resolve this problem as soon as possible so...
Could someone enlighten me as to what I can do to restore my phones function as a phone after I so smartly chose to set radio band to USA on my 5x, not knowing that it would be a one-way street affair. I have no phone or operator settings allowing me to change to automatic or global mode or whatever else will allow me to access my mobile network.
People have had such issues before, however, when reading forums from 2013 or whenever, the fixes for those people have not helped me out. Either they are not working or they are phone specific.
This post is just me repeating....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-5x/help/baseband-error-china-t3238867
this.
But I would really love it if someone could help me out, as I have exhausted my own limited adb, fastboot, google search, reading comprehension knowledge.
Thanks in advance smart people.
Have you tried flashing complete factory image? It should over-write all changes you have made.
If you don't want to do that, flash radio etc separately.
Thanks for showing interest in my issue.
Yes, unfortunately I have flashed all the available factory images and their separate radio components individually and together. To no avail. Also. I installed a rom to see if that might help. Nothing.
It seems that this is an issue that will need a much greater skill set and the use of ceratin tools that I am not versed with.
Qpst, Qxdm and Mztool etc.
Marko
I'd try to enable all the bands that were initially there using the bands value calculator, bear with me on the naming, I haven't seen QPST for a really long time. It would be good if you'd tell us what have you tried already and what's the current state of the phone.
