Hello all!
I'm new to all of this rom flashing stuff. I hope this post is not too long and I hope there's not too many questions in it.
I searched this forum best I know how and failed to find a list of codes for the htc ppc6800. (those ##xxx# things).
Is there such a list? Can one be started? A list of codes and what they are for would be nice to have around I think.
I know there are a few htc ppc6800 phones (Alltel, Sprint Mogul, Verizon VX6800, and more, I think). Would there be different codes for each model or the same codes for all?
If a list can be created or started, can the codes that's different for various models show which model they're for? This would help me (and possibly others) a lot.
One more question. I have a brand new, non-activated Alltel htc ppc6800. At first I was thinking of trying to flash my phone to a Sprint mogul if possible ( but now just want to either trade for a mogul or sell--lol). Just messing around and trying to learn how to put in a code, I tried entering a code from directions in this link, http://www.htcwiki.com/page/Hacking+HTC+Mogul, to find my MSL code. The code was ##778#. When I put in that code and pressed talk, enter, send, or OK, my non-activated phone dials out (actually ringing), then hangs up. In the directions in the link above the next step was to choose "view" after putting in the code. I couldn't find anywhere to choose view.
This may seem/sound dumb but, step by step, or button by button, how does one enter codes? Told you I'm new. Is the phone suppose to dial out? Where are options like "view" found after putting in a code?
Thanks in advance for all help received.
Hello All, I am one of those who recently bought an HTC One V from Virgin Mobile hoping to use it on Page Plus. For last several days I have been searching on how to unlock this phone but haven't found a way to do so. I recently found some answers and have been trying to unlock the boot loader but can't seem to find a way to do it. The instructions online said to first hold down the down arrow key and press the power button next but that is not working. Does anyone know if the option to unlock the boot loader is disabled by VM? Also, has anyone figured out a way to go around it? If someone knows how to use this phone on Pageplus or is aware of any how to's, please post and I would really appreciate it.
TIA!
Register on htcdev.com, sign in, select unlock boot loader, there will be a list of phones, choose the one that says other supported phones.
From there HTC will guide you through the unlock method. There are also some guides in the general section.
As far as page plus, I know some stores will flash it for you. Check craigslist in your area and I'm sure there will be a local shop that will do it for cheap. Just choose someone reputable, nothing worse than getting conned or scammed.
Good luck!

There's no need to give it to someone to flash.
I registered my virgin htc one v on page plus last week. Procedure is as follows:
Unlock bootloader - basically htcdev as mentioned above, once the bootloader is unlocked you can use fastboot and install a root/custom recovery (cwm or teamwin)
Root phone.
Install MSL finder app that requires root. I think this is specific per phone, not 100% sure.
Use the diag code on the phone. I think it's something like ##3424#, use the msl code, enable the modem thing.
Install the HTC diag modem driver.
now you can access the phone using QPST or CDMA workshop.
Now all you need to do after that is find a online dealer, there are a few that will do this step for free. Basically port your number or establish a new activation, give them your esn and let them register the phone to page plus. Also download a pageplus prl.
Back in QPST (I think that's what it's called) or CDMA workshop, reset your msl code to 6 0s (000000) and load the prl file on the phone. You may also have to manually set your MIN/phone number. I think activation might take care of this for you? Not 100% sure.
Make sure with the new prl the phone is rebooted and perform an activation, dial *228. With your msl set to 000000 the verizon activation should be able to be completed fine.
Now you should have a working pageplus htc one v phone. Phone and text will work. 3g is another matter, all the settings will still be set up for sprint/virgin mobile. I'm working on the 3g portion but there are tutorials that cover how to convert any phone to verizon 3g and you should/can follow those.
Quick question, what's "page plus?"

One google search can clear that up. Since we're talking about cell phones and activating it, i would think it's safe to assume it's another prepaid carrier. P+ is a reseller of verizon. The only real benefit for me is that they have a real prepaid plan, you can buy 2000 minutes for a whole year which virgin doesn't seem to have available, which is perfect for my parents. They have monthly plans which are similar but i think a bit better than virgin.

Erm, i bought this on the 50$ virgin mobile sale last week. it's on page plus now.
Does that answer your question?
I mean, any CDMA HTC One V should be portable to page plus. It's all the same radio technology. GSM however will not be able to be ported to P+.

Hi, i bought the $50 One V too and was wondering if I could follow your steps to activate on Verizon? Don't need text/3G, just wondering if my mom could use it in lieu of her dumbphone w/o paying for data on verizon postpaid. Thanks in advance!

You get text, just got to fiddle with the settings for mms.
Basically from all my tinkering it comes down to this. Yes, it works. You have to follow the steps above,
unlock the boot loader
get root installed
install the msl finder
turn on diag mode (##3424# or something)
connect to qpst
change the msl to 000000
put in a prl that's made for sprint phones on verizon (not too hard to find)
reboot
make sure your esn is associated to pageplus (online resellers of minutes can do this for free if you look around), dial *228 for activation
make a call out to set up your voicemail
to get quasi 3g (it's not 3g due to ha/aaa shared secret passwords that as far as i know you can't get with a sprint phone for whatever reason) you have to play with qpst and setup the m.i.p. profiles, an/un for verizon. It says 3g but it's like 1x speed slow.
To get full 3g speed you have to get the right shared passwords which as far as i've been able to determine are associated with your esn. I've read somewhere that you need a real verizon phone, swap esns, reactivate data, copy the passwords, swap esns back and program the sprint phone with the shared secret passwords. As far as i can tell this is the donor phone method. I haven't been able to verify that method but i might be able to in a month or so when i get my hands on a verizon phone.
You'll want to do this setting up before installing any custom roms. I installed pacman on mine after setting it up for page plus.

Is it necessary to change the msl to 000000 in order for the phone to work? I didn't change it and my phone works fine on Page plus. I understand it won't be able to receive OTA updates, but is that 100% necessary? What happens if I don't change it to 000000?
pm me if you would like a link that i believe has the data issue fixed i cant post in thread
I read on another forum people were having problems doing this method after updating to the newest firmware with the phone. Mine is updated can anyone give me some insight on what I can do?

Hi, I recently installed the RhythmicRom v1.2e after failing to get PacMan to boot (latest radio update created issues...) I was using GrooveIP previously, but now I'm thinking PagePlus would be more mobile. Will I have to Factory reset/wipe Rom before flashing PP? any work arounds? thanks.
So I have the HTC One m8 on a small-town carrier called ChatMobility (formerly Cellular 29 Plus) out of rural southwest Iowa. It's a CDMA version, and although it seems hardware-identical to the Sprint version, I'm not 100% certain it has the same model number. I'm curious about how to go about unlocking and flashing custom ROMS to it, as the only information I've read is specific to the major carrier versions. I tried plugging it into WinDroid HTC Universal Toolkit, but it didn't recognize the device for some reason, no matter what I tried. Anyone have any suggestions? How do I go about achieving S-Off and root, and what ROMS/recoveries are safe to flash? Thanks in advance guys.
No one has any ideas? I thought XDA users knew everything
EDIT: Well, looks like Verizon ROMs are the way to go if you have Chat Mobility for a carrier. Unfortunately, as you might expect, this results in Verizonified themes and apps, as well as reaching Verizon customer service when dialing the usual customer service numbers. Anyone happen to know where I can get a stock dump for Chat Mobility for restoring purposes? I forgot to make a backup when I flashed to nV ROM.
Everything does seem to work fine, though.
EDIT2: Breaks your MMS doing this! It loads the default VZW pic messaging servers, not the correct ones from Chat Mobility.
Could some of you who know code help me with a problem I'm having with any custom ROM on my LG G3?????
No matter what I set my phone, additional settings, it shows private number to anyone I call. The "tick" for show number stays put, but it still says private number??? My provider says all is set correctly on their end. On stock LP it works fine......just NO custom ROM??
Never had a problem like this before on Galaxy equipment? My current phone is LG G3 At&t, unlocked.
Thanks for any help.........want to use my layered SlimLP.
Solved
Just in case anyone else experiences this problem...........new sim card was the answer?? Also giving a stronger signal.
Hello,
First, let me express my deepest thanks in advance for those of you who may be of assistance. I have visited this site many times over the years when I needed to find the answers to smartphone related issues (mostly rooting..etc). I have usually found the information that I needed via reading posts and trial and error; however, I am having a problem that I cannot find the answer to and it is frustrating the crap out of me.
So, here goes:
I bought a LG LS980 off of Ebay. It was locked to Sprint and I had a friend of mine root it (since I couldn't figure it out and it ended up being that the firmware had to be downgraded since a patch was bumped to it) and unlocked (or so i was told, but I do not know how to find out). It is currently running Cyanogenmod 12.1. I wanted to use my old phone's SIM and pop it into my new phone so that I could enjoy it (the old phone was a Nexus and ran hella slow). So, anyway.... I contacted NET10 customer support since that is my carrier and explained what I wanted to do. They let me know that as long as it is unlocked that I would be able to just swap the SIM into the new phone and should be good to go. They checked my IMEI and said that the phone was, indeed, compatible and as long as it is unlocked it should just be a matter of a simple ROM swap. Not the case. I put the SIM in and booted it up. It went from No Service to saying "Sprint" on the upper left hand corner. I try to make a call and it states that, "The code or number that I am dialing is incorrect, please try the code or number again". I looked this up on the internet and didn't find a focused answer. I talked to my friend and he stated that I may have to set up a new APN profile.
I have checked the APN settings on it and all of the APN profiles have the prefix "Verizon". I used this mini tutorial at http://forums.androidcentral.com/goo...-settings.html along with the NET10 settings to try and make a profile. Both of their workarounds don't seem to work. I can enter about half of the information and then either click BACK or SAVE and then the profile is gone. I am not sure this is the reason that my phone is not working, but I thought I would give it a try. I have also tried to use this tutorial: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2798566 as a loose guide, TWRP installed. Keep in mind that I believe that my firmware was rolled back to ZVE. and not ZVD. When I have tried to edit the build.prop values at the tutorial states it does not save. Also, there are two lines that are not even in my build.prop (ro.build.target_operator and persist.service.crash.enable). When I have tried to edit or add it adds them but does not save and definitely does not persist through reboot. I feel as if I am close to getting the phone to work, but I am unsure where to go from here. I really do NOT want to have to go back to a stock ROM and all of that because....well.... my friend did the rooting and installing of cyanogenmod and I don't want to risk undoing all of his work and having to pay $ to have it done all over again (I have rooted phones..etc, but this G2 was a MOFO because of the firmware patch for me). NET10 CS and TS was of no help and they gave me a ticket number (and to tell you the truth the are outsourced and I can't understand what their reps are saying). So, does anyone have any advice or threads that I can look at? Like I said, I feel as if it is close, but no matter what number I call it says that recording. I get no incoming calls (although it rings when listening to the incoming calling phone's speaker). I am also unable to send or receive SMS or MMS messages. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not the most technically savvy person, but I can answer your questions to the best of my ability and I am good at following directions. (I have about 5-6 phone root/ROMS under my belt and even 2-3 SPRINT to NET10 activations, but this one is just perplexing the crap out of me) . Could it be that the phone is not unlocked???? How do I check this??? Is there a way??? When I put in the NET10 SIM it never asked me for an unlock code so I am assuming that my friend unlocked it? I have also tried "Turn the phone ON and type 2945#801# If nothing happens, type 2945#802# or 2945#*803#" and no hidden menu appears asking for an unlock code.
You can unlock your Sprint phone for GSM but you can't activate it to Verizon or its MVNOs.
