hey i just cracked my arc s screen. how can i figure out if i cracked the lcd screen, the digitalizer or the case. the touch screen is working normaly and the lcd is also working normaly. and if anyone has any experiance with replacing the housing/lcd screen/digitaliter and can give me any advice would be greatly appriciated.
thank you, ales47
When the LCD is working as usual, I think neither the LCD nor the Touchscreen is damaged, you just crashed the glas front. But sorry, I do not know how to fix this, sorry...
I've checked on ebay and the digitalizer costs around 50USD is there any way of only replacing the glass?

Sorry, I'm not very good at fixing broken phones, but why don't you ask ifixit.com? I think they should know things like this...
I know this is an old thread but I have the same problem, so how did you fix your problem?
The screens I found on ebay are realy expensive...
After getting frustrated i made a bad decision and decided to punch my phone.
now i need to fix my phone.
it appears i have broken the digitizer. on tearing the phone down it seems the screen and digitzer are the same unit.
can anybody else confirm or deny this. it is a htc desire hd.
it has definately been fixed at some point in its life because theres alot of dust between the digitizer and screen.
any help will be greatfully recieved
i had another look.... they are seperate.......

Hi, i've changed my screen 2 months ago, and i can tell you that is better that you buy the screen with the digitalizer and the frame. All the kit, then search some video on youtube about disassembly and in 1 hour you will have your phone running again, it's easier than seems, you'll sure for that.

You can try to change just the digitalizer, but is riskie, so i you broke the screen, then you can order the entire kit, so, don't worry!

Yep ok so yes the best way is to replace both digitizer and lcd at the same time, after applying a small amount of pressure to stick the 2 together i put a small crack into the lcd (ggggrrrrrr) ( literally the smallest amount of pressure) so that was really good advice there.
I will be purchasing a new lcd as i do enjoy this phone..
many thanks for the offer of buying it. yes the micro usb works fine, if it appears that i am unable to fix it i will be more than happy to sell it......
Bottom Line Replace both Digitizer and lcd and even housing if poss at the same time....
thanks for your advice and suggestions.
Hi guys, not sure if this is the right place for it but I can't for the life of me find anywhere selling the glass screen and digitizer for the 2014 note yet... anyone located one? Reason I ask is my mate has sat on his and it's well and truly cracked but luckily the LCD behind it is fine.
Any help is appreciated!
Cheers,
Scott

Hey guys, good day.
My HTC Desire Eye screen cracked (I accidentally dropped it) and it really looks horrible. I am planning to replace the screen myself, and I am asking if anyone repaired their phone by themselves as well. I'll be buying the parts needed in eBay. I am also wondering if I can only replace the glass and not with the LCD? The LCD screen still looks impeccable despite the cracked glass and touch works perfectly. However, I am yet to find a tutorial that shows replacement of the glass module only.
Thank you very much in advance.

U can find tutorial on YouTube. And yes you have to replace entire screen not just the glass.
My advice is get it replaced from a expert. It doesn't cost much. Also buy original screen don't get a bad one.
