Can't upgrade radio rom - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I can upgrade everything BUT the radio ROM on my BlueAngel.
Anyone else ran into this? I've tried every radio ROM version I can find, but it fails every time giving an error dialog instructing to contact the vendor. After this, the entire unit is locked until I flash the ROM and ExtROM again. I really need to update the radio portion because I'm getting complaints about the well documented "echo" problem these units with older ROM versions are prone to. FYI, in case it matters, I've been using the unit with a Cingular SIM. HELP!!!!
Model: PH20B
ROM: 1.40.00 WWE
ExtROM:1.40.176
Radio ROM: 0.91.00 (Can't update this)

Radio rom working, but can't be upgraded

I am unable to upgrade radio ROM on my O2 XDA Exec (SIM-free).
When trying to upgrade radio rom from either the bootloader or OS itself, the upgrade process stops at 0% and after 2-3 minutes I get the “error 114: Radio rom update error”. Tried advices found in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296901 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=296393&page=2, but to no avail.
I'd like to point out that my problem is slightly different because I have not able to upgrade radio ROM at all and the rom the device came with is still working.
Currently the device has Jwrightmcps's Crossbow ROM 2.02.00 (installed without the radio part and v1.01 bootloader. Radio ROM version 1.04.02.
Any help would be highly appreciated.

My Herm200 can ony be flashed to Black Satin

Every other rom that I try either fails at 12% or 82%. I cant use HardSPLv7 or HardSPL. I've reached my the conclusion that my device will for ever be bricked. I started out with a No GSM error and I end up with Black Satin which is really stable but it doesnt help that I have no radio flashed to it. I refuse to cut my loses. Anyone that can be helpful I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Have you tried flashing the HTC Official Rom with radio?
Try flashing back to the official ROM from your carrier...and the flash different ROM
Sounds like the Radio has been corupted.
Have you checked here

I'm thinking you need to flash a radio back onto your device. Most if not all of the Cooked Roms recently don't have a Radio included. So, try upgrading the radio. From what I know, flashing a Rom with HardSPL on your device is fairly safe but the Radio is where things can go wrong.
Maybe you should visit the Hermes Upgrading forum and ask the guys there, look at the Sticky's.
I wonder how you lost the Radio? Did you try to upgrade it or did it just disappear?
I bought the phone bricked it had a No GSM error soo I figured I could fix it. Ive been working with wizards for sometime and I've never been able to not recover one. So Ive tried about 4 different radios all of which either fail for error 260 or 262. I've tried from both the os and bootloader. I had schaps newest rom and black satin and both of which ran fine but still no radio. Every OEM base rom I've tried fails at 82% its strange. I've read on other message boards that the only fix is to swap the boards. I dont believe that. I also tried Mtty's set 14 0
task 8 with no avail. I'm thinking if I down grade to WM5 and find a stable radio any radio for that matter and try to work up the ladder back to WM6.

GSM error so no radio
Try using the V3 Unlock then flash it may help.

Also its HTC branded its a straight TYTN its not bound to any carrier. So it should be sim unlocked but hopefully the Cid can be unlocked which could be the hang up during rom and radio changes. Thank you all for you advice all of it will be noted and tried out later today.
So I successfully Flashed Pandora to my phone but still no radio

How to upgrade htc radio?

hi, can somebody help me about upgrade htc radio fm? what software I need for do it? is possible to just override some files, or I need to re-flash the rom?.
how can I save radio sound to mp3 or any type of sound file?.
thanks,
[edit] Ooops! I misread your question. I thought you were meaning to upgrade the radio part of the ROM, so I wrote the long explanation below. Now I realise you meant the FM radio app. That has nothing to do, that wouldn't require a re-flash, only getting the right files for it and installing them. Sorry!
[edit]I'm leaving the other explanation below anyway, since I took the time to write it and some people can find it useful. But it DOESN'T apply to this thread.
It is a ROM flash: a ROM file (extension .nbf) which can be installed with the standard Rom Update Utility (RUU). ROM files may have one or more of the following parts:
- SPL (Secondary Program Loader): most limitations about which kind of ROMS you can boot are enforced by this part. For example, any country or language restrictions are likely to be found here.
- radio: this has the code for the phone radio chips (GSM, CDMA, Wifi, Bluetooth, etc). Upgrading these can sometimes improve reception or battery life. Or they may worsen
- boot screen: the screen you get before the Windows Mobile logo appears. Usual boot screens are the phone brand logo, but you can change it. For example, mine has contact information to return the phone if I lost it.
- The OS proper. You need to change this to upgrade the OS. This is the only part that will need a hard reset if changed. Most "cooked" ROMS change this part.
. extended OS or ExtROM: This has CABs to be automatically installed after a hard resets. Typically used by network operators to add their own customisations (operator logo, bundled apps, etc).
Vendor official ROMs usually have all of these parts. Unofficial "cooked" ROMS may include only some parts.
For example: When you do CID unlocking, you're flashing a ROM file which has ONLY the SPL part on it. After that, flashing any ROM file which has no such part, will keep you CID unlocked. However, if you flash a ROM with the SPL part, such as any official ROM, you'll be CID locked again. That's how it works.
For radio it's the same: if you flash a ROM which has only the radio part, you'll upgrade it and no other part of the OS will be changed. Of course, if you later install another ROM which includes an older radio version (for example an official ROM) you'll be actually downgrading it
I hope the explanation was clear enough.

herm200 wont send text messages!

i flashed wm6.1 tnt to my hermes a few days ago and it worked like a charm, for a week atleast, till yesterday when it started delaying sending text messages, since texting is what i do all the time, it got pretty irritating, i thought it might be congestion from my service provider so i called em up and lodged a complaint, however when i shifted my sim to a nokia the messages started going fine, now thinking it might be a rom problem i flashed the official htc 6.0 rom but it had the same problem and then i downloaded crc_r11 rom which is the best one ive had as yet, it worked fine for about half a day and now its started giving me the error, 'text message cannot be sent' and that too after like a minute or two of trying to send it, shifting the sim to another phone fixes the problem... does anyone know a solution to this? my ipl is 1.04 and spl is 1.40 olipro
right now im downgrading to wm5 to see if that fixes the problem but i really loved crc v11
could this be a radio rom problem?
Yes. what radio are you using?
best practice is to flash with your carrier's shipped rom, and then upgrade/downgrade radio and then flash with crc's which I love too!
guess what. i just went into device information to check which radio rom version i have and.... its all blank! no rom version no radio rom version no protocol version no rom date! in the next window that has information on memory and colours etc theres a load of random characters. i mean nothing readable. and in the outgoing and incoming call timer fields it says 'unknown'
whats going on :s
i just hard reset my device
got this
radio version
1.48.00.10
See how you get on with your Radio showing up now. If you want to change make sure you follow the guidlines in the WIKI as upgrading the Radio is the most dangerous thing you do with your phone. (unless you take it high board diving with you... )
which radio rom version shud i use then in your opinion?
i just downgraded my phone to the stock vodafone rom that it came with and the radio rom version is 1.32.00 however the wm6.1 roms are 1.48 as i told u before, shud i install them new windows and then downgrade the radio rom?
i tried what zocster said, flashing vodafones wm5 rom downgraded my radio rom to 1.32 and then i upgraded to crc 11 and the radio rom stayed the same so all systems go till now
thanks guys!

Bluetooth Hardware error after upgrade

I followed the instructions on upgrading my Universal to Wm6.1 (Ranju's v7.7) which included downgrading the Radio version to 0.00.00. Upgrade went fine for the most part but Bluetooth isn't working now and when I try to turn it on or discover another device I get a "bluetooth hardware error" message.
My radio version still shows up as 0.00.00 as there was no radio.bkf file in Ranju's update (I'm assuming) so should I install a new radio-only ROM and if so which version and where to find? I did a few searches on the forum but ended up going round in circles! Should this solve the BT problem?
Also can I just install the new radio ROM "on top" of the WM6.1 upgrade or will I need to do it all over again?
Just to let everyone know, after much reflashing and rebooting of both OS and Radio, I finally managed to get it to work by stopping the Extended ROM installation adding on all the O2 crapola after the initial ROM install. Might be useful info for anyone else having this issue in the future ...
i dont understand what its the O2 caprola, what did you do exactly because i have the same problem after i upgrade to WM6
