Hi.
You could try using a registry editor to search within HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID for key IsSIPInputMethod. Then, for each one found look at the parent CLSID and you should see a string value (Default) set to the name of the input method (e.g Keyboard, Letter Recogniser, etc.) Once you find the CLSID entry for the Resco Keyboard, make a note of it, then delete it. Then find registry key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip and look at the string value DefaultIm to ensure that the Resco Keyboard's CLSID is not defined there - if it is, change it to be one of the other CLSIDs
I don't know if this will work, but it is probably worth a try.
@dcs
I tried looking everywhere for input metod string that was assigned to resco keyboard but non of them was for it And believe me I searched everywhere. Any other ideas? Anyone?(except hard reset ofcourse)
have you looked to see if its in your start up programs? if its there you need to remove it from start up and than you should be able to uninstall it.

anyone knows how to delete the new htc keyboard(dutty's one), so that I can restore the input method to htc's original one?
cos I found it is not capable with some of my applications,
any help will be grateful, thanks in advance!
I want this also...the new thing, doesn't work for me...can help it!
So, someone???
My way to uninstall built-in apps:
1-Look for an uninstallable cab for the exact same app & same version.
2-Install this cab in the Device memory. The new files & registry keys should replace the old ones for the same software AND will make it uninstallable
3-After softreset (if needed/preferred) go ahead & uninstall the app
4-We're not done yet using SKTools/PocketMechanic or any other system tool software, cleanup the RAM, broken links & bad registry files..
NOW you got rid of the unwanted built-in software
But I'm not quite sure if this is HEALTHY for the device
the only problem that I have is that sometimes the keyboard is stuck at the numbers, so I can't type a normal text message with letters.
I found a work around.....
if you are experiencing that problem, open your opera browser and click on the address bar. then the keyboard will change back to qwerty
You can try to disable the input by using some tweaker like SKTools
Gota try it thank you, all of you!

Hey all,
One thing that annoys me about the new x2 sip is that it continues to use xt9 even though I'm typing on the hardware keyboard. (If you know a setting to stop this let me know)
What I would like to do is have the application "SipSwitch" launch and change the current sip to the NullKeyboard whenever I slide out the hardware keyboard on the xperia.
Does anyone know of an app or fix that allows applications to be run whenever you slide out your keyboard?
Thanks in advanced
Try this
Do you also use the slide to switch between portrait/landscape modes?
If yes, use PQzII to switch SIPs.
If no, try this:
Install the registry key below (use tascal reg edit to import them). It assumes you use Keyboard and nueNullKB (if not, just change the registry entry to your null SIP).
Copy sipswitch.exe to Windows folder (this is mandatory).
Reboot.
I can't do anything about the SIP popping out when you slide in - that's due to how sipswitch works.
You can also use those registry entries to run programs. They will need to reside in the Windows folder though. These registry entries rely on windows state notifications (snapi) so there's no polling involved. Don't use the registry setttings if you switch between landsccape/portrait tho. the SIP won't be positioned properly.
Thank you for this! Don't have time now, but I will try it out soon and tell you what I think.
There's a slidersound app/cab that enables sounds for the keyboard whenever it slides in/out and also can open up an app of your choice...search for it!

Tried searching for this, but I'm getting a lot of stuff that's not related. If you can please post a link or give the exact name of the file or something. thanks for the suggestion though.

Hey inks, thanks for your input. The registry fix didn't work, but PQZII did and was exactly what I was looking for. I doubt I ever would have found that app myself. PQZII will probably be useful for some other things too. later
ah the registry notifications depend on you installing nueNullKb (http://www.nuerom.com/BlogEngine/page/nueNullKB.aspx). Too lazy/hard to make a cab for it so it's not easy to set up. owell.
But yeah if you're just switching SIPs between landscape/portrait, PQzII works a treat.
@ImPacking
If you're talking about nuerom's nueSlidingKb (creates an icon called Sliding Sound in Settings) or nueKBLight, they don't work for the X1 (was designed for touch pro 1). Problem being they rely on detecting portrait -> landscape switch modes but for right sided hw keyboards.
occasionally the built in keyboard shows me a different than expected keyboard. For example, durring txt messages, it would show the phone keypad "with the 1-9, P, w keys" or it would show the internet one "with .com button". I tryed looking through the registry for it, but its a mess tryn to find the key that was changed. i have the touch input v2.0 (build 35555) on the AT&T rom.
If anyone else has had this problem and knows how to solve it, the help would be amazing.
p.s. on my previous phone, I had the VITO Zoomboard, but i like the way this new keyboard is in how it changes..but not when it changes to something that isn't appropriate for the given event
Did you install the classic word completion or word correction cab? If so,

I installed the disable xt9 file which changes registry values?
Just now I used the resco registry explorer to extract my reg files and found which keys changed:
=== normal keyboard ===
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Ime]
"CurrentET9Style"=dword:00000000
=== web keyboard ===
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Ime]
"CurrentET9Style"=dword:00000006
=== numeric keypad ===
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Tegic\eT9\Ime]
"CurrentET9Style"=dword:00000006
now I gata find a program which will make an exe or lnk to change that value of the reg
I have the exact same issue. The phone seems to get stuck on the number keypad with the W and P and will not go back to the full qwerty.
Soft resets do nothing to reset keyboard. I did the following edits to get word suggestion:
Go to: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\layouts\e001 0409
Edit: Ime File = \Windows\compime.dll
Layout Text = COMP IME
Go to: HKLM\Software\Tegic\eT9
Edit: XT9SupportMSSip= 0
Otherwise I have done no registry edits except removing proxy info for Opera to get it to work on Rogers.
This is most annoying so any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
I have tried using opera page before exiting but it still comes up as a number pad.
Applies to any HTC Touch Input 2.0 keyboard

Thanks for this ... you really helped me save a lot of time!
I find that it will also flip to this input style when trying to add a contact. Once it does this I then have to go and start opera, touch the address bar and the input changes back to qwerty. Then I can exit opera. Its kind of a pain but at least I know of the work around.
thanks for the opera info - I did not install any completion cab, but this did fix my keyboard issue.
I just got this problem today. I have yet to be able to change it back.
I can tell you that this occurred in the Windows Edit Contacts menu (that is to say, go to HTC's "Edit Contacts" and select "More").
At first it gave me a simple numbers and arrow keys only keypad. I soft reset and it changed nothing. I then decided to retrace my steps to try to fix it, so I went back to the edit contacts screen and fiddled around, very shortly it switched to the keyboard as described by the OP. Numeric keys, parenthesis, a 'P' and a 'W', etc... stuff used in phone numbers, I suppose. I haven't been able to get it back to a full keyboard, yet. I've messed around with the keyboard options, switched to and back from other keyboard choices and got nothing.
Anyone else want to investigate this further with us?

Same problem for me, so I did the Opera method.
It definitely originated (for me) in "edit contacts".
I used the stock Opera (9?). I did try to just tap the google search bar with no luck.
Just click on the address bar after you start the browser and it will allow you to switch.

Hi guys!
I'm trying to turn on Word Completion for the full QWERTY keyboard, but I cannot find how to. I know that you can toggle Word Completion through Personal => Input => Options, but only for XT9 and the Compact QWERTY. I would like to enable it for the full QWERTY.
Does anybody know how?
Thanks for any help in advance!
Kind regards,
Piet
I'd very much like to know how to do that as well. Tried in the past, but it didn't seem possible via the standard settings.
I found the answer myself!
I found the answer myself! The trick is to change 2 registry keys.
Change these two registry keys under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\ Control\Layouts\e0010409
- Change the value of Ime File from \windows\eT9ime.dll to \windows\compime.dll
- Change the value of Layout Text from ET9 IME to COMP IME
Perform a soft reset and you wil now see that word completion works in the default language of your device.
You could replace the dictionary used (\Windows\Mssp2.lex) by one of your preferred language to change this.
For the Dutch users I have attached a CAB file which does this all for you. This is for WWE devices and you end up with Dutch Word Completion only.
Kind regards,
Piet
On my device I can turn it on whenever I want by bringing up the on-screen keyboard then hiding it. It is only temporary, and works until I close the keyboard and go back to portrait.
The problem with the reg edits is that eventually your keyboard will get stuck. The way to do it without messing anything up is through HDTweak. Not HD2Tweak. There is a difference. Once installed scroll down and turn xt9 off. Then the very next option will be T9. This is what you enable. Dont forget to soft reset. You will have auto correct and word completion perfectly after that without any problems.

The funny thing is that HDTweaks does the exact same thing as my cab does.
I used SKTrack to monitor the changes made by HDTweak and it changes the exact same registry keys to the exact same values I suggested...

Thanks for the info bro its really useful for me
I have a Tilt 2 running the NEW ROM.
I want to disable the automatic pop-up of the soft keyboard, so that I get to decide when I want to use it.
Is there a way to turn this feature off?
I have seen references to making changes to the registry, I assume there is a switch in there somewhere, but how does one access the registry? Is there a hidden program somewhere I could start or do I have to download it?
Thanks,
Richard..
You need to download a registry editor. There are various choices out there. I use Total Commander:
http://www.ghisler.com/pocketpc.htm
The reg edit that I have seen for preventing the soft keyboard from popping up, helps a little. But it doesn't prevent it in all situations.
As Redpoint mentioned, Total Commander is the preferred file explorer for most of us. Task Manager 3.1 is what I use for mobile registry editing. I do try to avoid doing any editing on my device, though. I rather edit on the PC side with the larger screen and less room for errors. For editing the device's registry from the PC, I use CEReg Editor 0.0.5.3.
For disabling the keyboard, you could try an app that I used to use on WM5 with my old Sable. It says it works with WM6, so give it a shot and see if you like it. It's called Nullkeyboard. All it does is add a blank SIP to your device. Select Nullkb from the SIP input button and you're good to go. Here is the link to the download.
I used Advanced Config. It gives you a nice way to select options and features and then change your registry for you. It is AWESOME for a tweaker. I'm using version 3.3.0.0 and it works great on my Tilt2 original OEM ROM.
Using this app, Under the Input category, change "Auto deply SIP" to disabled.
Okay, I downloaded the nullkeyboard and tried, it but it had no apparent effect.
I also downloaded the Task Manager 3.3 (latest version) and it works. I did a search for "keypad", but none of them appear to relate to controlling the pop-up feature.
Does anyone know what registry entry controls the soft keypad pop-up feature?
Thank you,
Richard..

Did you select the nullkeyboard from the SIP selection window that pops up when you press the right side of the soft keyboard icon?
You should NOT be searching around the registry for things to change without knowing what they are. Doing so can possibly screw up your phone and require a hard reset. You should only apply registry changes you see posted on here, and change them exactly as indicated.
The reg edit to prevent SIP for opening:
HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip
"TurnOffAutoDeploy" value="1"
NullKeyboard - Oh, is that how it works? Thank you for telling me. It does the job, except for the times I would like to use the keyboard for quik edits, I have to change it back to the regular keyboard first.
REGEDIT - I found the registry key: HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip
but there were no values in it for: TurnOffAutoDeploy
I added the value: "TurnOffAutoDeploy" value="1" (no quotes) with the type REG_SZ and then rebooted the phone. I also changed NullKeyboard back to regular.
This had no effect on the Auto Deploy of the keyboard.
I was hoping the RegEdit would work. The keyboard would be there, but would not pop-up until I wanted it.
If I did something wrong, or you have any other suggestions, please let me know.
Thank you,
Richard..
I think the reg type should have been a DWORD value of 1.
Great! That did it. The keypad stays out of the way and is there if I want it.
Thank you,
Thank you, thank you, thank you, cajunflavoredbob
