I have two PDAs: O2 XDA 2 and MOVISTAR tsm500 witch are the same PDAs except their names...
What I want is to transfer the ROM from O2 to MOVISTAR because MOVISTAR is in spanish and I want it to be in english.
How can I do this ? Any other way to make it be in english ?
thanks
this can be easily done with >=128Mb SD-card and a bootloader. Use search on "d2s" or "s2d" commands over this site. It would also require some manual modifications on SD-card image.
on a slightly different note: i have a pda2k and want to put the imate jam rom onto it for experimental purposes but cant as it gives an error of wrond device id when i try.. is there a way around it
?
thanks

duh... i know taht but wouldnt you be curoius if they worked with each others roms.. i mean the ppc SE comes standard then tweaked by the OEMs basically even a non wifi ppc with SE will have wifi manager somewhere in the rom..hence in theory the exact same rom will work with a device with wifi since the files are already loaded into the rom
was wondering is there any way possible to chnage my rom from the qtek 9090 (original shipped) to an o2 rom (1.40.237).....please let me know your suggestions/thoughts
yes its posible, but why bother - I have both devices and find the QTEK just as stable as the O2, if not more so. If I were upgrading ROMs, I would go to imate 1.40 & radio 1.13, but can't see the point. If it ain't broke, don't fix it
I am just finding that I have so many issues with the qtek and I am not sure if its the rom or sw I have. eg sms don't come thru ,soft resets dont complete properly, spb pocket plus does not work, i could go on and on; and my system is v.Sugglish at best. Thought a different rom might be more stable. How do install the imate rom?
Hi all,
i am thinking about upgrading to one of the WM6 Roms from this forum.
There are some doubts I am thinking about:
Do i have to flash the Bootloader to HardSPLv7 when i only plan to flash the OS?
The background is that i am running on Radio 1.32.00.00 after flashing with the official new ROM 2.04.162.1 from Vodafone.de and dont want to change anything despite the OS, because this Radio works fine for me!
And for varanty purposes i dont want to change anythin other then the OS.
As i figured out from the upgrade guides, the new Bootloader is only needed when also upgrading the Radio. Am i wrong?
I think the WM6 Roms also work fine eith other Radios and Bootloaders, isn't it?
Also i want to know if Vodafone Live! is (incl. Video Streaming) is working fine with the WM6 Roms?
Thanks for your help,
Hype2k

Yes you need to flash the bootloader to flash the OS. Your radio won't change.
Thanks
Ok thank you for that information.
Does anyone know if Vodafone Live! and MobileTV is working with WM6 Roms?
AnyOne tried yet on the Vodafone Network (or even Vodafone.de network)?
Thanks in advance,
Hype2k
You can flash only OS, but you would be foolish to NOT flash HardSPL 7.
I didn't think any of the vodafone live stuff worked on these things due to the browser and the coding of the site. Mind I've only tried it on vodafone uk. whenever I try and browse I just get a blank screen, buy I have an htc tytn noy a VF branded one.
Video calling works fine by the way if that's any help.

i have hermes, t-mobile vario II, with win 6 ROM, but the radio o gsm, the signal is very weak, also i dont use him als phone...
Same need for purely clean rom
I have the same intention since my hermes has no radio, Is there a radio-free rom out there ?
I was asking this a while ago but didnt get anywhere...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418530
I gave up and bought a new hermes instead!
I would love to see a chef release something but I doubt the day will ever come (unless they brick their phone and feel inspired)!?
ANY cooked ROM doesn't have the radio portion of the rom BUT you will need to Hard SPL your device first. Use Hard SPL V7. It will still appear as an option but you won't need a sim card to run your PPC. Look for the ROM you like, cooked only, and it will update the OS without the radio part. You will always have the phone functions available (even if they don't work) as this is a Mobile phone/PPC forum. If you only wanted a PPC you should have got that instead of the cosiderably more expensive phone.....
If you have "bricked" your phone this will at least allow you to use the PPC part, BUT the phone functions have been cooked into the rom too.
REMEMBER - Hard SPL V7 your PPC 1st...
Cheers...
